Review: Finding Bigfoot 1-6-13

This was actually a pretty great episode, a 7 1/2 out of 10, focusing on the Olympic Peninsula in western Washington State, where the Finding Bigfoot team hooked up with the Washington BFRO, including the one and only Tyler Bounds, who led them to the area he got some interesting audio recordings not very long ago. For the first night operations, the team split into groups, and Cliff got a very interesting thermal hit which appeared to be humanlike, and it did not seem to be a member of their party. This left the team puzzled as to what it was, but they decided to wait to get back to a place where they could examine it. In the meantime, Cliff, Matt and Ranae went to hold a town hall meeting, but held it with people that Tyler personally filtered out himself; Bobo stayed in the field for solo operations, and it seemed promising for what he was doing, but he ultimately got nothing. There were several stories told at the meeting, and investigated by the team, including an individual who had some photos of tracks where the photographer used a pen as scale in the photo, a smart move on his part. The tracks looked pretty good, but it was hard to tell if they were from a 'Squatch or not. After interviewing several other witnesses (including one which seemed to be doubted a bit by even Moneymaker!), they decided to switch tactics and use a FLIR truck which monitors a large area with thermal cameras. This thermal was so good, field mice were even seen hopping around near a mother deer and her fawn. The team did some calls, and found...well, I will not spoil it. All in all, the best episode of the season so far. Next week, the team heads to the Sportsman's Paradise of Louisiana, 10:00 EST/9:00 Central on Animal Planet. I Talked To Paul Graves the other night...

And we were discussing the recent DNA from the Justin Smeja alleged shooting of two Sasquatches. He told me that the study, done by Trent University, had bear primers which were the reason for the results of that DNA study coming out bear/human. So it would seem that they were already predisposed to have a bias against the existence of a North American Primate, which seems typical of most so-called "scientists."

While Bigfoot certainly tops everyone's list for 2012, skeptic Brian Switek announces he is Calling it quits for Bigfoot and declaring the whole enterprise a big, fat fake due to lack of evidence. All of his relevant points could be easily counterpointed by us but really, it isn't anything we haven't all rehashed before...many, many times.
