Review: Beyond The Edge Radio 11-23-07

This was a wonderful show, with Paranormal Investigators Brian and Terrie Seech who discussed such things as their investigations into ghosts, Bigfoot, UFOs and Thunderbird sightings in the Keystone State. The show started with horror and sci-fi movie reviews from Scott Hackenslash who reviewed Beowulf and The Mist and gave them good reviews. Several questions were fielded, including Bill Green's usual questions, as well as one I asked about Thunderbirds. A Good Rev Wade called in and asked some questions about Bigfoot and Ghosts as well. It was a wonderful show despite Bill's usual questions, LOL The next show will have another Paranormal Investigator named Craig Hines at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at the link to the right. Review: Let's Talk Bigfoot 11-21-07

This was a pretty great show, with guest Billy Willard, who discussed audio recording research in which he works with DB Donlon and Tom Lancaster in Virginia. He also discussed his research area and some of the audio recordings that have been taken in his area. Melissa broached the subject of Billy's recent jaunt to Texas with Tom Biscardi and I think handled it rather well, with a lot of tact and aplomb. She did not attack Billy for having gone on this expedition or question his integrity or standing in the Bigfoot community, which I applaud. Great show as always. Mel will next have Pete Aniello next Wednesday at 10:00EST/9:00 Central at the link to the right, and as akways, we do encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Florida Confusion Continues

My gosh, now the media is throwing in Chupacabras to explain the Orangutan-Fox Squirrel-Spider Monkey reports from Baker County, Florida. Also, the Skunk Ape, Bigfoot, and something called the “Taylor Wild Man” are being pitched too. At least they haven’t caught on to the Cryptomundian theory that it is a tree-stranded otter.

The search continues and the questions linger as the residents of Baker County in northern Florida try to figure out just what's romping through their forests and stealing their jelly doughnuts. While Sasquatch, orangutan, Skunk Ape, spider monkey and fox squirrel have all been suggested, perhaps the most intriguing suggestion has been that the creature is the "Taylor Wild Man," a supposedly feral human. Review: Monsterquest 11-21-07

This was a pretty good episode, about giant birds such as Thunderbirds, spotted in Alaska, Texas and Illinois, including one that was filmed in the Land Of Lincoln in 1977. An ancient species of bird, the teratorn is also examined by paleontologist Kenneth Campbell. Native American legends are also examined of the Thunderbirds, with visual representations in the form of totem poles. Several witnesses, cryptozoologists and scientists such as Ken Gerhard and David Hancock are interviewed about their thoughts on the giant birds, including Marlon Lowe, who claimed to have been picked up by a giant bird briefly and dropped in 1977 in Lawndale, Illinois. Several scientific experiments are conducted to see if it is possible for there to even be these giant birds with large wingspans and large bodies. It was a very good episode. Next week will follow an all-female expedition to Skookum Meadows in search of Bigfoot. Again, check local listings for time and channel.
Vampires and Sickness Beyond the Blog
In centuries past, as the fear of vampirism swept much of Europe, there were incidents which led some people, such as French philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau, to believe vampires were real. Isn't it possible the supposed instances of vampire-like appearance and odd behavior could have been symptoms of an epidemic of disease?

British scientists say they have stumbled across a fossilized claw from an ancient, extinct sea scorpion that they believe indicates the scorpion was at least 8 feet long. Despite fossils that show ancient extinct species were gigantic in comparison to their present day descendants, scientists are surprised by this find. With illustration. You'll find a more complete illustration accompanying the same text here.

Review: The XZone 11-20-07

This was a pretty good show, with guest Robert W. Morgan, who discussed his Forest Giant research, as well as his recently published book The Soul Snatchers coming from the same publishers of the updated Bigfoot Casebook and Sali Sheppard-Wolford's recent book Valley of The Skookum. Our own Bill Green called in and asked his usual questions (which do get answered despite Bill's signature same questions), and Morgan actually stayed over for one hour during the Cooke Report which discussed a possible gravesite of giant bones found in Germany. It was an enjoyable hour and 30 minutes.
Chinese authorities have launched an investigation into the alleged sighting of two Bigfoot-like creatures in the Shennongjia Nature Preserve in central China's Hubei Province. Four tourists reported making the sighting along the Licha River on the northern side of Laojun Mountain in the afternoon on November 18. Also, South China Tiger Photos Are 'Fake', Awesome or Off-Putting: The Goatman and Big Squirrel, not Bigfoot Spotted in Florida.

What's an 18-foot ocean dwelling minke whale doing 1,000 miles from the ocean and stuck on a sandbar in the Tapajos River, a tributary of the Amazon? Brazilian scientists are working to return the 12-ton animal to the ocean, but the question remains: What would make a fully grown whale take such a monumentally wrong turn? Could this be a male minke whale?

Fossil finds have been made at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains at Dmanisi in Georgia that may be changing beliefs regarding the "Out of Africa" distribution of mankind. Partial skeletons of 1.77 million-years-old hominids have been unearthed, skeletons that show a primitive brain and longer, more human-like legs. Is "Dmanisi man" an intermediate link between ape-like Homo habilis and more human-like Homo erectus? Meanwhile, Are the 2.04 Million-Year-Old Wushan Fossils the Oldest Hominin from China? Also, Hobbits Foe Teuku Jacob Has Died.

DVD Review: Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut

Superman II - The Richard Donner Cut
DVD ~ Christopher Reeve
Price: $19.99
Availability: In Stock

78 used & new from $10.25

3 of 5 people found the following review helpful:
5.0 out of 5 stars "If you've only seen the first part, you haven't seen the best part!!!", December 19, 2006
That was the tagline for "Superman II" When it premiered in 1980 overseas, then 1981 when it premiered in America. The Richard Lester cut of this film was the one seen in theaters at the time, and was a great movie for its time, but it was not the true vision Director Richard Donner had brought to the screen. Donner was fired off production of this movie after a disagreement with the producers. He had already shot 80% of this movie during the same time the original "Superman" was being shot, so his vision went unseen for years. Marlon Brando had also shot some unused footage for this film, but was not featured in the Lester cut because of budget constraints. Now, more than 25 years later, Donner's cut has arrived, and it is spectacular, and not jokey and gag-filled like the original cut is. It is crisp, clean and wonderfully restored to DVD. The movie itself is quite entertaining, and having both cuts of this helps me to study better the true differences between the two. I will not give away too many details of the differences (those can be seen elsewhere in other reviews and also all over the 'Net), but I did enjoy this much better than the original cut. As far as I'm concerned, the only "Superman" movies you need in your collection are "Superman: The Movie," "Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut" and "Superman Returns." Thank you, Warner Brothers, for allowing this film to see the light of day.

Some Off-Topic Reviews: TNA: The 50 Greatest Moments

5.0 out of 5 stars TNA! TNA! TNA! , November 18, 2007
This DVD is chock-full of great moments in TNA history, with some of the biggest stars in the fledgling wrestling organization. Stars such as "The Icon" Sting, "The King Of The Mountain" Jeff Jarrett, Team Triple XXX ("Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels, "Prime Time" Elix Skipper and Senshi), America's Most Wanted, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy, "The Monster" Abyss, "The Instant Classic" Christian Cage, The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall), "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Diamond Dallas Page, Raven, "The War Machine" Rhino and many others. Celebrities such as Country Superstar Toby Keith, actor/comedian Chris Rock and Baseball's A.J. Pierzynski and Football's Brian Urlacher also make appearances in the Impact! Zone. Some of the best highlights are of the "Ultimate X" matches and the "X" Division stars, where the stars do some insane and amazing moves. The one who gets the majority of the highlights is "The Phenomenal" A.J. Styles, who has won every title conceivable in TNA short of the women's title. He is featured in matches with Jarrett, Rhino, Daniels, Joe, Hardy and Abyss, everything from Six Sides of Steel to Ultimate X to title matches. This is a truly amazing DVD Package, with great highlights, and well-worth purchasing. I really enjoyed it.

Review: Sasquatch Experience 11-18-07

This was a wonderful show, with guests Joedy Cook and Bob Coyne, in sort of a roundtable discussion where we talked about Dr. Jeff Meldrum's recent appearance on Coast To Coast A.M., his peer review paper and his research into Sasquatch, as well as a bit about the Patterson/Gimlin Movie and also how modern costumes really do not compare to it, as well as the return of Artist First's Bigfoot Central, Joedy's continuing research into the Ohio Bigfoot as well as a recent report he had heard of a few weeks ago. Bob chimed in with his thoughts on the Sasquatch field as well. It was a great roundtable discussion, and I had fun. Bob will return next week as our guest at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at the link to the right. As always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
Those mystery animal reports from Baker County in northern Florida have wavered back and forth from one type of animal to another. "Orange ape" became "juvenile Bigfoot," which became "Skunk Ape," which metamorphosed into "orangutan," which then took a sudden 180° turn to become "fox squirrel." Did Charles Fort describe what's behind these reports from Macclenny and Glen St. Mary, Florida? Also, Bear Trap Set for Mysterious Ape.
