Bigfoot-Shaped Rock Is A Rock, Not A Bigfoot’s Fossil Skull

Drumroll, please. Karl Shuker present's his Top Ten list of the most extraordinary and scientifically significant zoological arrivals and revivals of modern times. If you expect to see the coelacanth, the mountain gorilla, and the okapi on this list, you'd be right. But there are a few lesser known discoveries here as well: the Congo Peacock, the Chocoan Peccary, and the Takahe, to name a few. Will Bigfoot ever make the list? Listen in asBob Gimlin and Bill Munns Share New Insights into the Patterson/Gimlin Bigfoot Film. Bob Gimlin was there when this famous Bigfoot footage was filmed and Bill Munns has conducted one of the most thorough analyses of the film. But it almost seems as if Bill knows more about what happened than Bob. InColumbus and the Search for Greek Mythical Monsters in America, many of the unusual creatures Columbus reported seeing in the New World can be explained as "you see what you expect to see." Columbus, who thought he had found the India, seemed to be applying the creatures of Pliny's India to the Indies.

Transporting the Minnesota Iceman

Posted by: Lyle Blackburn on June 28th, 2013
It’s back! The 1960s sideshow attraction known as the “Minnesota Icemen” has resurfaced and taken up residence at the Museum of the Weird in Austin, Texas. The infamous gaff recently turned up on ebay with an asking price of $20,000. It was promptly sold to an undisclosed buyer, which turned out to be my friend Steve Busti, owner of the Museum of the Weird.
Details of the purchase remained under wraps until Tuesday night when the Minnesota Iceman was featured on the A&E network show, Shipping Wars. In order to transport the Iceman from Minnesota to Austin, Steve worked out a deal with the network. As part of the show, Steve and the driver Jennifer, stopped off in Fouke, Arkansas where they met up with myself and fellow cryptid researchers, Ken Gerhard, Chris Buntenbah, and John Attaway. We then took Steve and Jennifer into the woods near Boggy Creek for an evening of “bigfoot hunting.” The next day they continued the trip until finally reaching Austin.

More On The Minnesota Iceman

The Minnesota Iceman is shrouded in as much mystery and controversy as as he is in ice, and the once top billing sideshow attraction is getting a lot of renewed attention lately with his "guest star" appearance on reality show Shipping Wars recently. Not only that, but the Minnesota Ice Man is on the move to the Museum of the Weird in Austin, Texas and will once again be put on display for the public to ooh (and ew) and ahh over. Loren Coleman, who took photos of the Iceman in 1969 during the frozen fella's debut carnival run, gives a detailed summary of the long and weird history of the Iceman and touches on some of the controversy (Was there a second, fake body?) and even more on the Minnesota Iceman.

Tonight on A & E’s Shipping Wars at 9 Central: Jennifer hauls a cold, creepy, mysterious load… And that’s just the seller, who joins her to ensure the oddity he’s shipping makes it to its destination before unthaws.

A Cryptomundo reader submitted this true-life experience he says he had back in the 1970s when he spotted a giant 'werewolf', as he calls it, peering into his bedroom window. He says it had a wolfish face and walked and stood on 2 legs. Footprints and other eyewitnesses create a unique cryptid case here and after seeing this jawdropping video of a Russian performing bear, recently, we aren't entirely convinced this wasn't a case of mistaken idenitity involving an unusually intelligent bear or wolf. And by the way, we also aren't entirely convinced that's an actual bear in the video either. It's spookily human-like in its movements and we'd hate to see what would happen if Pavel the trainer ever runs out of treats.

Happy St. John’s Day

No, really! The guy was telling the truth, he was actually on assignment from Ontario Wildlife Field Research investigating Bigfoot sightings. But apparently up in that part of Canada, any behavior is suspicious behavior when you're part of the bored police force with nothing else better to do than harass innocent Bigfoot hunters, fine them and warn them to keep away from the area forever. It's Canada, what else are they gonna do, ticket moose for crossing the road? Further south, people in Texas are buzzing about a Chupacabra sighting in San Antonio city limits. After watching the video we are once again baffled at how people continue to be confused as to the difference between a frightened, sickly thin coyote with mange and a vicious, violent, bloodsucker fiendish chupacabra. Guess which one this video shows? And finally, Karl Shuker investigates a group of mysterious statues depicting 4 different cryptid beasts that have remained locked away in one castle or another in England for centuries:Discovering the Dacre beasts.
