This was a really good show, with guests Larry Lund, Ron Schaffner, Bobbie Short and Diane Stocking, who talked about a variety of topics, such as habituation claims, Paul Freeman and whether or not he was a hoaxer, Ray Wallace, fantastic claims and whether they have validity to them, films and videos, vocalizations and other fascinating topics. Review: The Grey Area 6-3-09
This was a GREAT show, with guests Tom Yamarone, James "Bobo" Fay and Paul Graves, the organizers of the Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up, who discussed how successful it was and the DVD coming this Summer. They also took a call from me, who told them how much fun I had. That was the first half of the show. The second hald was with Bill Munns, who was kind of dumbing down the work he has done on the P/G Film ( I asked him a question about his criterion for his lens experiment). In two weeks, the ladies go back into the UFO field with a UFO hunter. It starts at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
Book Review: Bigfoot Film Journal by Chris Murphy
This e-book, the first from Hancock House, is a terrific one, dealing exclusively with the Patterson/Gimlin Movie, and it's a good one. It deals with the timeline issue surrounding the filming and the controversies surrounding that, as well as speculating in favor of the film's authenticity. It also deals very fairly with both sides of the issue, pro and con, and Murphy even uses information from Greg Long and his book The Making Of Bigfoot. Of course, the efforts of those past and present are highlighted-notables such as Grover Krantz, John Green, Rene Dahinden, Peter Byrne, Patterson and Gimlin themselves, M.K. Davis, Jeff Glickman and the work NASI did, the Russian scientists, such as Dmitri Bayanov, Igor Bourtsev and Dmitri Donskoy and the British scientists, such as Don Grieve and John Napier. The book is illustrated profusely throughout with illustrations, mainly by Brenden Bannon, as well as photos and papers and other items scattered throughout. There are also links to items online which correspond to the subject matter which can be perused. When this is made available widely, I do recommend getting it. Probably the most important book on the film since Bigfoot At Bluff Creek and America's Bigfoot: Fact, Not Fiction. (I have now read the hard copy, and really do not have anything to add to the review I posted above. Still a great book.)

In Hoopa, CA, Bigfoot is not a legend. The huge, hairy manlike creature has reportedly been experienced by numerous residents. David Paulides collected tales of Bigfoot encounters in the area in his book The Hoopa Project: Bigfoot Encounters in California. On Nite Callers, the guest was supposed to be Thom Powell, author of The Locals, but he came across an emergency situation he had to take care of, so it was open-mic about research and also answering questions. Mike Hall, a researcher from Texas, was on in place of Powell, and he discussed some research he has done, as well as about the upcoming Honobia Bigfoot Conference this fall. I called in along with Bill Green and talked a good bit about current happenings in the Bigfoot world, as well as about the Dogman phenomenon. A fellow named JB also called in, as did Jordan Warner. He and Jordan and I discussed a good deal about it, and we just basically let Bill vent about it for about the first 45 minutes. Then we got into the other Cryptozoology hoaxes and Bigfoot hoaxes, such as the Skookum Cast (which may just be a misidentification), as well as the Sonoma footage, the Memorial Day Footage, the Myakka Skunk Ape photos, Tom Biscardi and other hoaxes. Several folks called in, including Laurie who talked about the GA. Hoax, and also Abe and Bill from Minnesota Bigfoot Research, who discussed some interesting activity from this weekend in their area. Don Keating also called in and discussed the Freeman videos and his admission on Good Morning America in 1987 of being a hoaxer. I am working on a special guest for June 14, 9:30 EST/8:30 Central. Book Review: Who's Watching You? by Linda Coil Suchy
Truly terrific book.
This book basically gives an interesting perspective on the Bigfoot/Sasquatch phenomenon because the author's Gram had experiences with what she called King Kong or The Beast, back before the name Bigfoot came along. Gram grew large vegetables which were raided by something, possibly a Bigfoot (she had several sightings). She used to also make cakes made of pumpkin and zucchini for the creature, which it would accept. There are also many historical and cultural aspects discussed in the book, including the classics, as well as sighting reports given to Linda. There are several interviews with notables in the field, including Jeff Meldrum, Thomas Steenburg, Bob Gimlin, John Green, Henner Fahrenbach, Dmitri Bayanov, Robert W. Morgan and others. I give this book, which is really great, a 4 3/4 out of 5 stars. Get this book!!!
