Strange Hominid Sighting in York County, PA Phantoms & Monsters
Like Elvis, Bigfoot seems to be busier than ever. What is thought to be a juvenile Bigfoot has been reported near the York County, PA, town of Red Lion. Being described as only about four feet tall, the "juvenile" appellation was attached to the creature sighted July 18. Could this relatively diminutive hominid be an albatwitch? Monsterquest was great tonight, about the Legends of the Hairy Beast or Hairy Man, with several Northern Californian Native Americans who described sightings and also their legends, including of the Mayak' Datat' of the Yurok Tribe, which Kathy Strain has been looking into for many years (she was also on the episode to discuss her impressions and the history of the Hairy Man), along with the Pictographs of the Mayak' Datat". John Freitas is interviewed about a 2001 encounter he and James "Bobo" Fay had where Fay had a sighting of a Bigfoot. Fay and Cliff Barackman are interviewed on their impressions and thoughts on the Northern California sightings, as well as going on expedition where they go out on the Klamath River in a boat doing call-blasting, as well as following an expedition in the Suattle River Valley in Washington State with Dr. Briggs Hall and Bill Evans where they set up gamecams and some bait in a tree 12 feet high. There are also some sound recordings analyzed and one of them seems to be quite intriguing to the analyst. I bought this book back in late-January 2004 from an ebay auction and read it voraciously. It is THE bible of all books on the subject. The book boasts information on sightings from all over the United States and western Canada, with several onsite interviews with witnesses conducted by Green himself. Topics covered range from the Patterson/Gimlin film, to classic Sasquatch stories, to creatures around the world, to Indian legends, to mysteries set in stone, to various other aspects of the Sasquatch mystery. At 492 pages, this book is a marathon read, but highly recommended to all who are interested. The book has been reprinted by its original publisher, Hancock House, two years ago, but the original can be purchased at www.abebooks.com for a reasonable price.

At 492 pages, this book is a marathon read, but highly recommended to all who are interested. | Book Review of "The Best of Sasquatch-Bigfoot Author and editor: John Green I received this book yesterday (September 14th, 2004) . I have read the books that are compiled in this collection before ("On The Track Of The Sasquatch" and "Encounters With Bigfoot", also known as "Year Of The Sasquatch"), but there is new material in the first four chapters of the book. The first chapter, "The Ape and The IM Index", examines the various ways that people have tried to debunk the Patterson/Gimlin film (without success, of course), as well as the Intermembral Index which determines how long the arms are in proportion to the legs. In humans, it's 70, while in the P/G film creature, it's in the high-80's, which makes it impossible to be a human in a costume. The second chapter, "Recent Developments", discusses some of the prominent scientists who have come forward in defense of the Sasquatch, such as the late Dr. Grover Krantz, the late Dr. Leroy Fish, Dr. Jeff Meldrum, Dr. Jane Goodall, Dr. Russell Mittermier and several other luminaries. The Skookum Cast is also examined, as are the dermal ridge footprints examined by Jimmy Chilcutt.Chapter 3 focuses on the media attention which surrounded the death of Ray Wallace in late-2002, and the chapter is appropriately called, "Bigfoot Did Not Die". The final chapter is called "100,000 Reward", which is a real reward given to anyone who can successfully duplicate the tracks found in and around Bluff Creek, California. The first four chapters are an excellent setup for the rest of the book, which is wonderfully written and researched. Get this book if you can. Book Review: The Sasquatch File By John Green
This short booklet, clocking in at just over 70 pages, was released in 1973, and was the most up-to-date book at that time to sightings taking place not just in the Pacific Northwest, but all over the country, and it's a good one. Green definitely did a great bit of research and received many reports at that time and put them all in the booklet, including the most famous cases, but also quite a lot of lesser known cases from all over the U.S. and Canada. There are quite a few photos and illustrations throughout the book, as well as near the end some statistical information on sightings in the U.S. and Canada, such as sighting patterns, food source stats, color and other important observations by Mr. Green. I do highly recommend this book if you can find it (it can be found sometimes on eBay or at abebooks.com or bookfinder.com) Your John Green book collection is not complete without this one. 4 stars!!!!!!

Sasquatch Allegedly Seen Near Alberton Missoulian
A dead gray wolf and a live Bigfoot were both seen alongside an Alberton, MT, highway last week. The gray wolf, a female, was easily identified, but skepticism remains over the supposed Bigfoot sighting. A driver said he spotted the tall, hairy hominoid as it approached a couple who were fly fishing in the waterway parallel to I - 90. Why is Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) less than enchanted with this Bigfoot report? And why haven't we heard more about the BFRO's recent investigation of an alleged Bigfoot family in a rural area of New York state?
