BCSCC Seeks Lake Cameron Monster Cryptomundo
A scientific investigation of reports from British Columbia's Lake Cameron that an unknown creature is gamboling in its wakes is being mounted by the B.C. Scientific Cryptozoology Club (BCSCC). Club co-founder John Kirk files this report from Postmedia News in which he comments on last September's ill-fated attempt to solve the lake monster mystery. Monsters of New Jersey Is Out Cryptomundo
Loren Coleman and Bruce G. Hallenbeck have collaborated on this new publication from Stackpole Books that was scheduled for release on September 1, 2010, but, according to Coleman, is widely available about a week early. The work includes the most famous of the New Jersey cryptids, the Jersey Devil, but also carries tales of both urban and swamp-based Bigfoot creatures, the Lizardman of Great Meadows and more. The Table of Contents from this new release is listed in Coleman's report. Elsewhere, John Rimmer reviews the anthology compiled by Wendy Grossman and Christopher French Why Statues Weep: The Best of 'Skeptic', which takes its title from the many reports from Ireland and other locales that claimed the appearance of either tears or blood running from the eyes of statues of the Virgin Mary. Other subjects are included in the volume, as well, and Rimmer's review can be found in Weeping Statues.
