An elementary school in a small northern California community is the scene of a new series of melanistic large cat sightings. With the Dept. of Fish and Game saying that one has to attack before they can take action, concerned parents have decided to post a graphic warning of their own. Says Loren Coleman: "There just are not suppose to be any 'black panthers' – i.e. melanistic large felids – in California. Yes, mountain lions exist there, but black mountain lions are not verified zoologically." Over at Crytozoology Online, Dale Drinnon Attempts a Composite Jersey Devil Profile, and Lindsay Selby updates us on sightings at Loch Ness in recent times, including the report of a hump seen in the waters in June of 2009.

This time it’s an otter.
