Could it be? Daniel Rainsong claims to have photographed a bird long held to be extinct. Rainsong supposedly has photographed the Ivory-billed Woodpecker in the southern Sabine River basin, and ornithologists and bird lovers of all stripes are holding their collective breaths awaiting the release of the photographs. Has this marvelous bird risen from the ashes of extinction? Elsewhere, a story we carried here yesterday about a photograph of an unsavory beast in England may have run afoul of some eagle-eyed cryptid chasers at Cryptozoology Online, as reported in The Beast of Buckshaw. Hmmmmmmm.

actually, I'm not 'holding my breath' over 'release of the photos'... and I wouldn't advise other birders too either.
