Dr. Karl Shuker reveals some interesting findings made by American cryptozoologist Todd Jurasek during a 2002 trip to New Guinea. Juracek interviewed members of two tribes near the Sepik River, coming up with information about giant monitor lizards, giant snakes, a lion-sized cat and what might be a large canine cryptid. According to Dr. Shuker, "the most extraordinary information obtained from these interviews concerned an alleged bigfoot-like man-beast". Known to some tribes as the Kayadi, could the New Guinea ape-man be related to the Australian Yowie, Sumatra's orang pendek or any of the other "man-beasts" reported from the major island groups in the vicinity of New Guinea? Elsewhere, in a story that might explain the connections, if there are any, between the bigfoot-like creatures in the New Guinea vicinity, ScienceNews is reporting Ancient Hominids May Have Been Seafarers.
