Sasquatch Watch Radio Tomorrow...

Billy and Mike welcome to the show Pennsylvania investigator Dave Dragosin, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Reviews: Nite Callers/Monsterquest 10-25-09

Nite Callers was pretty terrific, with guest Bill Bean, who discussed such things as politics and the belief that President Obama is the Anti-Christ, spirits such as dark entities and fleeting glimpses of dark manifestations and other spiritual matters. I called in and asked Bill about the Sasquatch and implications of it possibly being a demonic manifestation, the mention of the possibility of Sasquatch in the Bible and other subjects. Bill answered questions very well and did a great job. Dunno what Laurie, Lauren and Luke have planned for next week, but it begins at 7:00 EST/6:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Pretty good Monsterquest episode tonight, 4 out of 5 stars. A few highlights:

Reinhold Messner-describes Yeti legends, believes it is a bear

Peter Byrne-gives description of Yeti

Loren Coleman-gives history of Yeti

The Lapkha Dohma story is recounted, where she was allegedly attacked by a Yeti

Adam Davies-leads an expedition into the Himalayas to find evidence

The Yeti is described as 8 feet tall, covered in grey hair and can kill a yak with one blow

Dr. Ian Redmond, a leading expert into apes and gorillas, accompanies the expedition team

The team is going to Mount Dhaulagiri, where some of the most recent tracks have been found

A fellow named Mick Paul is also with the expedition

They are going to a camp at almost 15,000 feet

They are rigging a camera to a helium balloon which they will fly over the ridges to see any animals or wildlife

The climb is pretty steep, and 90-degree weather does not help

They decide to stay by the river for the trek

Peter Byrne is interviewed about the backstory and history of the Yeti and his involvement in it

Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay were the first to reach the top of Mount Everest, and they found tracks

The Eric Shipton photograph of a track is also profiled

Tom Slick entered the scene in the '50's and sponsored several expeditions, including with Peter Byrne

Hairs collected 50 years ago are being examined, hairs from Tom Slick's expeditions

Dr. Redmond believes that the Yeti lives at the lower elevations and not in the higher snowfields

There appears to be a front coming in which could hamper the efforts of the expedition, who is already having to ascend a place where the trail has collapsed

A woman tells of her husband's terrifying encounter with a Yeti years ago

The storm seems to be moving in, and the team seems to be hurrying to beat the weather

The team sets up camp and decides to wait till the storm passes

Davies and Redmond go and explore a ravine where the Yeti has recently been seen. Redmond finds all sorts of interesting food sources that could sustain a creature such as a Yeti

The team is camped at 11,000 feet, and could be at risk for altitude sickness

At that altitude, strange screams have been heard

A large part of the expedition team is asked to go down the mountain, because it is felt that a smaller team has a better chance to perhaps have an encounter

Davies and the team is attempting to get to the altitude where a team in 2008 found tracks

5-inch footprints have been found at nearly 12,000 feet

Davies and Paul speculate on whether or not it could be a bear track

Messner is quite skeptical of the existence of the Yeti

Messner believes the Yeti is the Himalayan Brown Bear

A wildlife Biologist also believes that bears can be mistaken for Yetis

The team continues their trek, and comes up with... well, I won't spoil it for anyone

Very interesting episode
During a regularly scheduled meeting to watch the skies for UFOs, a group of UFO researchers claims to have observed a curious UFO event. The July 25, 2009, event involved a UFO seen exiting the water and speeding away. Meanwhile, there are some interesting statements among what has been released from the UFO files of another South American country, as seen in Brazil Military Leaks Amazing UFO Event. Elsewhere, Canada's release of government information comes under some fire in Declassified UFO Files Reveal Canada Feared Alien Arrival, and Norio Hayakawa adds to the distionary of UFO terms with A UFO Conspiracy Theorist versus a UFO Conspiratologist.

Bruce Duensing continues his treatise showing similarities between the ghost phenomenon and the UFO phenomenon and pointing out an experiment to measure the environmental factors present in each might "reach two ghost birds with one stone". Elsewhere, the Paranormal Pastor, Robin Swope, offers a tale that may parallel what Bruce Duensing has said, as you'll see in The Lurkers in Twilight. The good pastor relates the tale of Steve's encounter in the Pennsylvania woods during the Great Depression and follows it up with a modern day encounter with a similar entity. Then he reveals his own experience with paranormal similarities between ghostly encounters and UFO events.

Grand Guests of Honor: Jim McClarin & Rep. Adams

Bigfoot Discovery Part Five: “Proof” without blood

Dale Drinnon discusses the legends of little hairy dark men inhabiting the islands of the South Pacific. Along the way, he shares some of the discussion of the subject put forth by Patrick Huyghe of The Anomalist and well-known cryptozoologist Loren Coleman in their oft-quoted book The Field Guide to Bigfoot and Other Mystery Primates. Could Drinnon be correct when he says the Menehune are actually Celebes apes? Meanwhile, Dr. Karl Shuker continues to seek some answers about a curious painting, as noted in the followup to his most recent blogpost at ShukerNature, A Perfect Picture of Mystery - A Positive Outlook?

Review: Sasquatch Triangle 10-21-09

This was a terrific show, a roundtable with Bobbie Short, Ron Schaffner, Larry Lund and Diane Stocking, who discussed such things as the 42nd-Anniversary of the P/G Film, the various cases they have investigated and other things. Joe Beelart called in and discussed some of the great work Diane has been doing since she moved to the PNW, as well as about the work being done in the PNW. I called in and gave my two cents on the Massacre nonsense, as well as asking each panel member about ecology of states such as Florida, Ohio and the PNW, as well as what they have noticed about differences in climate and substrate. Dunno what Don has planned in two weeks, but it begins at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Bigfoot in New Jersey The Paranormalist
John Carlson is a New Jersey resident, husband, father and self-employed web designer. He's also an avid student of all things that have a hint or two of high strangeness. Carlson runs a blog dedicated to everything of an anomalous nature, such as this tale of the night his wife heard what might have been a Bigfoot near Lake Owassa in western New Jersey. Having read an account of Nancy Bradley's childhood Bigfoot encounter near the same spot, Carlson contacted the West Coast psychic about her article and includes a link to that report in this post. Here Carlson relates what happened to his wife near Lake Owassa, as he related it to Nancy Bradley. Is this all it takes to get an invitation to visit a famous psychic and her husband to look for what Carlson calls "the big furry fellow" in New Jersey?

1 Birthday and one Anniversary today...

The lovely Miss Autumn Williams is having a birthday today. She is 29 (again) and I hope she has a great day. Happy birthday, Autie!!!!!! (Photo Credit: Tom Yamarone)

Also, today is the 42nd Anniversary of the Patterson/Gimlin Film. We celebrate this unique piece of footage today and always.
http://www.cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/patterson-deathbed/

Loren Coleman, following the recent Texas Bigfoot conference, reveals a revelation from one of the two principals responsible for the remarkable 1967 Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film. Bob Gimlin spoke with Coleman about Roger Patterson's reason for calling him to his side as Patterson lay dying in 1972. What deathbed confession did Roger Patterson make to his old friend Bob Gimlin? With images.

Benjamin Radford, the Bad Science guy, finds inspiration in last week's Colorado boy-lost-in-a-balloon-shaped-like-a-flying-saucer incident, putting together his list of the hoaxes that had the biggest impact on society. Among Bradford's selections is the famous Barney and Betty Hill UFO abduction incident. What other hoaxes was Bradford able to string together? And the incident's ability to influence columnists doesn't stop with Benjamin Radford, either, as Billy Cox, who blogs nationally about UFOs, has some pungent comments for the father of the "balloon boy" in OD'd on 'Balloon Boy' Skank. Meanwhile, some other hoax-type items appear in Awesome or Off-putting: The Chronovisor, a Time Traveling TV-ish Thingy.

"If vampires are popular, it follows that werewolves must soon arrive." So says bestselling author Brad Steiger whose The Werewolf Book led noted reviewer Stephen Applebaum to call on Steiger for opinion as moviemakers seem to be turning from the vampire genre to the werewolf genre in soon-to-be released films. Applebaum reveals details of some upcoming lycanthropic flicks approaching release, repeatedly calling on the expert Steiger for commentary. What does Steiger know about werewolves that you haven't yet come to understand? Meanwhile, another reviewer, Micah Hanks of The Gralien Report, gives a unanimous thumbs up to Nick Redfern's newest release in Book Review: Science Fiction Secrets. Says Hanks, "(T)his book is a mind bender in the first degree, and it will leave you wondering how soon Anomalist Books will be asking for 'round two.'"

Review: Sasquatch Watch Radio 10-19-09

This was a pretty terrific show, with guest Melissa Hovey, who discussed with Billy and his new co-host Lean and Mean Metal Mike Killen about this past weekend's American Bigfoot Society expedition to Kentucky where they heard some unusual sounds and also Billy said he heard someone or something rummaging close to his truck. I called in and asked about the activity from this weekend as well as discussing the upcoming Monsterquest episode this weekend on the Yeti, as well as about what I observed on the Kentucky Live Research Project this weekend. Joedy Cook also called in and talked about what he experienced this weekend. Dunno what Billy and Mike have planned for next week, but it begins at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
A meeting over the weekend, put together by Michael Rugg of the Bigfoot Discovery Museum in Felton, CA, brought a host of Bigfoot researchers and afficionados, as well as the just plain curious, to the museum and the town community center in Felton. Several supposed Bigfoot artifacts were on display during the event, including a tooth alleged to have come from the huge, hairy North American biped. Meanwhile, in the town of Seligman, "Java" Bob Smallsback of Searching for Bigfoot, Inc., has arrived to begin researching claims by a man building a cabin nearby that he had twice sighted the elusive creature. Smallsback says he was able to track the creature, finding a "fingernail" where he believes it stubbed its toe, as noted in Reported Bigfoot Sightings in Northern Arizona.

A 1934 newspaper column reviews the sea serpent reports from Lake Champlain dating from an 1870s sighting to sightings closer to the time the column was produced. Included is a report attributed to a United States Marine claiming the sighting of the cadavers of giant eels up to 40-feet-long on the shores of a Caribbean island following a tropical storm and speculating the sea serpent reports from Lake Champlain could be the result of such a creature having become trapped in the freshwater lake. Is "Champ" a remnant population of ocean-going giant eels left trapped in Lake Champlain? Elsewhere, another monster has run afoul of Benjamin Radford, the Bad Science commentator at LiveScience, as reported in Chupacabra? Creationist Museum Displays Mystery Beast.
