Minneapolis-based Bigfoot researcher Ed Welch was snapping photos of some peculiarly shaped tree branches and sticks fashioned into teepee shapes (allegedly typical markings of Bigfoot) when the ice below him broke and Welch found himself waste deep in bitter cold water. He threw the camera on the snowbank and emerged from the creek, but had to call 911 as hypothermia set in. He was eventually rescued by Chicago County Sheriff’s deputies. Elsewhere, in "Ask a Scientist," Sorry, Bigfoot Probably Doesn't Exist. But If He Did, He Would Be Taller Than a Bear.

Big cat sightings have been made on a steady basis around northeastern England. Now plans are underway to hold a conference on the nature of the large felines in the Northumberland area where Durham police inspector Eddie Bell says he has gathered nearly 450 reports of the out of place beasts.
