The rainforests of eastern Tanzania have been explored recently with exceptional results in identifying new species. Surveys in the forests of the South Nguru Mountains, led by Michele Menegon of Italy's Natural Science Museum of Trento, were responsible for the new discoveries. Will the large-scale discovery of new species continue in 2009? Elsewhere, Loren Coleman reviews the past year, with many images, in CryptomundoList of 2008 Lists. Meanwhile, new animal species aren't the only surprising discoveries being made, as you'll find in the video and text about what cave explorers stumbled upon beneath Budapest, Hungary, as reported inUnderground Lake Discovered.
