Review: Bigfoot Quest 2-5-08

This was a pretty great show, with guest Melissa Hovey, who discussed a bit about her tenure in the Texas Bigfoot Research Conservancy, as well as the majority of the 90 minutes being devoted to talk of the Skookum Cast and the controversy surrounding it. Bill Green called in and asked his signature questions, and I called in and discussed a bit about the Skookum Cast and how some researchers argue that it was made by an elk and that certain individuals who live near Skookum Meadows know that the ground does not freeze in late-September, but Melissa experienced that it does at that time of year. Don Keating also called in after the second hour started and got into quite the spirited debate with Melissa over the Skookum Cast, in which they debated without insulting and really came away agreeing to disagree. It was a great and spirited show. Don't know what Bob and Mike have in store for next Tuesday, but it should be a good one, 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Bigfoot_Quest As always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Review: Bigfoot Central 2-5-08

This was a great show, with fortunately a minimum of talk of the old chestnut the P/G Movie with guest Jay Michael. who discussed his theories into what he thinks we have in the South as far as Swamp Ape Creatures. He also discussed Cryptovideography.com and his productions, such as his DVD's and his webisodes titled Conundrums, as well as footprints and the differences between them as far as five, four and three-toed tracks. I missed about five minutes of the show due to having to reboot, though. Don Monroe also discussed some of the caves he has explored as well as tracks and hand casts he has found and casted. It was a great show, and I enjoyed it. Don't know what is up for next week, but it should be a good one, beginning at 8:00 EST/7:00 Central at http://www.artistfirst.com Archives of the show can be found at http://www.artistfirst.com/bigfoot2008.html As always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

50th Anniversary: 1958 and Bigfoot

Posted by: Loren Coleman on February 5th, 2008

“The month of October 1958 had a special impact upon the history of the Bigfoot phenomenon. The idea of giant footprints associated with tall and hairy forest beings at large in North America became established in the public mind during that month.” A visit with a Bigfoot historian reveals some intriguing insights about that milestone month in this milestone year.

Review: Squatch Detective Radio 2-4-08

This was a great show, with guest DB Donlon, who discussed some of his efforts to get sound recordings of different possible vocalizations. Several vocalizations were played, including one which sounded eerily like the Sierra Sounds, and one which had a whistling vocalization, followed by the "Illinois Howl" recorded by Stan Courtney which had a response to it in the form of another whistle. Several more vocalizations were played during the course of the show, and callers such as Bob Coyne, Mike Killen, myself and Tom Lancaster asked various questions and also talked about recording equipment that can be used in the field. It was a great show, and the 90 minutes seemed to fly by. Don't know what Steve and Billy have in mind for next week, but it should be a good one, 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/TheSquatchDetective And maybe it too will be 90 minutes. As always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Review: The Bigfoot Mystery 2-3-08

This was a fairly good show, just an open-mic discussion with Darin and JC Johnson, who discussed some sighting reports and footprint finds and things of that nature. Bill Green called in briefly and asked his signature questions (God bless him), and Melissa Hovey also called in and told of some activity in Texas and also an interesting story of a sighting in the Lone Star State. All in all, not too bad a show. Next week, Darin has a two-hour show planned with Doug Bilby (Bullet Maker) beginning at a special early start time of 6:00 EST/5:00 Central at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/The_Bigfoot_Mystery As always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Review: Sasquatch Experience 2-3-08

This was a pretty great show, fun and informal, during the Super Bowl, in which we discussed such things as DFoot and his constant cutting down of the Patterson family and Bob Gimlin over on Bigfoot Forums (which has now been brought to a screeching halt because DFoot is banned from the BFF), Gimlin's recent appearance at the museum in Olympia, Washington on Saturday the 26th of January, romantics versus scoftics (a topic brought up by Teresa Hall) and other subjects we were just generally wanted to get off our chest. James did join us after we initially thought it would be just Sean and I and we had a great little discussion over various things in the field that just burn our biscuits. It was pretty great. Stan Courtney has, unfortunately, turned us down for an interview next Sunday, but we may have a back-up plan in the works, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/sasquatchexperience As always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Review: Beyond The Edge Radio 2-1-08

This was a truly great show, with guest the legendary Robert W. Morgan, who discussed his organization, the American Anthropological Research Foundation and the research it is involved in, as well as about his research into what he calls the Forest Giants, what we know as Bigfoot or Sasquatch. He answered many questions from the chatroom, as well as callers like Bill Green, a fellow named Scott and myself, who asked him about his associate Eliza Moorman, as well as about whether Bob Gimlin actually pointed his rifle at "Patty" (he did get into the P/G Movie as well) and also about Bugs and that story. The Bugs story seemed to be what several listeners wanted to hear, and Morgan told it just as well as he always does. This show was a wonderful opportunity to hear a true legend, not only in Bigfooting but in humanity as well. And he is a humble fellow too on top of it. Not sure what Sean and Eric have in store next week, but it should be a good one, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/beyondtheedgeradio As always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

DVD Review: Family Guy Presents Blue Harvest

This 2-Disc DVD Set is full of extras, including in the box set a set of trading cards, a T-Shirt depicting the cover art for the DVD and a booklet called The Art of Blue Harvest. The Family Guy episode this DVD is based from is a spoof of Star Wars Episode IV, and it is a hilarious one. Peter Griffin is Han Solo, Chris Griffin is Luke Skywalker, Lois Griffin is Princess Leia, Brian Griffin is Chewbacca, Quagmire is C-3PO, Cleveland is R2-D2, Herbert the Pervert is Obi-Wan Kenobi, Joe is Biggs, Mayor Adam West is Grand Moff Tarkin and Stewie Griffin is Darth Vader. It is an absolutely hilarious spoof episode which has some shots that are taken directly from the original movie, but also some shots which are done in the distinct Family Guy style. It is a combination of regular animation and CGI, and the extras on the DVD are great too, such as Seth McFarlane, the series creator, sitting down and talking to George Lucas (who is a big fan of the show), the making of this episode, a 3-D scene (which comes with special 3-D Glasses) and a look at the episode completely in animatics. This DVD set is definitely worth its price, and highly-recommended. 4 1/2 stars!!!

Review: The Sasquatch Triangle 1-31-08/Special announcement

This was a great show, with guests Ron Schaffner, Bobbie Short and Diane Stocking, who discussed things from a rather skeptical point of view, including topics such as sighting reports, sound reports (speaking of which, my vocal performance from last October was also played over the air), and the sounds are subjective unless you see a creature make it. I also mentioned that a person should have another hobby besides Bigfoot. A fellow named Dr. Wade called in and talked about primates as related to Bigfoot, as well as some theories about the creatures. Ray swallace was also brought up because we played a song by Don Jones who had some of Wallace's alleged Bigfoot screams on the song. It was a great show ,and I enjoyed it. Next week, Don will have as his guest M.K. Davis, foremost authority on the Patterson/Gimlin Movie, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/sasquatchexperience As always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
