Micah Hanks explores a topic in what he calls "unconventional cryptozoology," the haunting cries recorded in the deep by U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) researchers and affectionately dubbed “Bloop”. Says Hanks: "If what existing evidence suggests is accurate, it points to a monstrosity somewhere beneath our oceans that might rival J.J. Abrams’ Cloverfield monster."
