Review: Beyond The Edge Radio 2-13-09

This was a terrific show, with Eric and special guest co-host John Cartwright, and with guests Tim and Trish Yancey and Jason Gowin of Encounters Live Paranormal Radio, who discussed some Paranormal cases they have looked into, more especially the Amityville case, which I called in and asked about, as well as Bill Green, who called in and asked about the Amityville case and Eric about any paranormal activity in Pennsylvania. The show began with Scott Hackenslash with his Movie News and Reviews of the new Friday the 13th Movie. Next week, Eric and Sean welcome paranormal investigator Tim Sheetz beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
Michel Raynal writes about Charles Darwin’s discovery of a “predicted” moth. Says Loren Coleman: "On Charles Darwin’s 200th birthday, it seems only right to revisit an animal discovery of some significance tied to his observation abilities and openmindedness regarding animals." To which a reader wonders: "How does this translate to interpreting the 'circumstancial evidence' of the existence of a large, bipedal, upright ape-like creature in North America’s wilderness areas?" A close look at those mysterious Big Cat footprints in the UK. The cast photos lead Richard Freeman to conclude tentatively: “It could belong to a puma or leopard but I think it is most like a puma's with the wide toe pads. In fact the print reminds me of a Florida puma print I saw that had been cast from a track left in sand.” Also, Medway Monster Mistake Mooted and Steller's sea cow

Review: Sasquatch Triangle 2-11-09

This was a terrific show, with guest Sean Forker, who discussed his beginnings in research into the Sasquatch problem in Pennsylvania at the tender age of 10, with his first reading of the John Green opus Sasquatch: The Apes Among Us and moving into his founding of Anomalis Entertainment and also Anomalis Investigations, which looks into everything from Bigfoot to UFOs to Ghosts to all sorts of Paranormal Phenomena. He also discussed the various shows he is (or has been) part of, such as the Sasquatch Experience, Beyond The Edge Radio, Let's Talk Bigfoot and The Sasquatch Triangle. I called in and got roasted a bit by Don, but I also asked Sean about the latest in his investigations. There was an appeal near the end by Sean to urge the witnesses to consult the elder statesmen and the researchers having been in it for a while before becoming too romantic. Next week, Don is having an open-mic show, 9:00 EST/8:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Review: Monsterquest 2-11-09

This was a rather interesting episode, about strange cattle mutilations, with several witnesses, more especailly in Canada and in the western US. Several scientists are examining the carcasses of cattle which are killed by unusual agents, and no one has actually seen the mutilations take place, and no footprints have been found either. The scientists are just as puzzled and do several tests, but do not come up with anything definitive that can explain the mutilations. There is a gamecam set up near a place where a cow was slaughtered for having rot foot. An unusual 30-foot circle is found near two sites of mutilations as well, and the soil is tested from each site. A veterinary pathologist, Dr. Nick Nation, at first believes it to be scavengers, but then finds a case which does not fit that criterion. Other clues are examined, and the investigation finds-well, I won't give too much away. Next week is the first Hairy Hominid episode of the season, about the Fouke Monster, called Swamp Stalkers, 9:00 EST/8:00 Central on History. Check local listings for time and channel.
Prominent scientists and leading religious figures from the UK to China have joined forces to call for an end to the debate over Charles Darwin’s legacy. Loren Coleman urges cryptozoologists around the world to follow suit. Also, sometimes it's personal (or maybe it always is): Ten Years, Post-Loch Ness.
A long, pro-cryptozoology overview in a respected online venue: "Science journalists entertain the Bigfoot story (even with a wink) because discovering a new and shockingly strange animal in the farthest reaches of the wilderness remains possible...The hunt for cryptids isn't just quixotic. It's motivated by the same ambitions that have led to key zoological discoveries." Elsewhere, First Central Mexican Jaguar In 100 Years, Bomb The Tigers? and The Mongolian Death Worm digest a Gazelle: "It appeared that the Gazelle was melting and the Worm was drinking the melted flesh of the Gazelle."
