DVD Review: The Legacy of Stone Cold Steve Austin
The newest offering from the WWE takes a look at the career of one of the most popular and charismatic Superstars in professional wrestling. It follows his early career at the Sportatorium in Dallas, Texas, home of World Class Championship Wrestling, where Austin was trained by "Gentleman" Chris Adams and debuted as Steve Williams (his given name), but when he went to Memphis and the USWA, Dutch Mantel came up with his new nickname, Steve Austin (later "Stunning" Steve Austin). He moved on to WCW and won the TV title, and matches with Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat are shown as well, along with tag matches (and matches against) Brian Pillman (he and Pillman were known as The Hollywood Blondes). After an injury, Austin is fired from WCW and is given a call by ECW founder Paul Heyman, and he goes to ECW and cuts some promos, targeting former boss Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan, and having a match with Mikey Whipwreck and the Sandman for the ECW title (which he lost). Austin is next shown in WWE, where he faces Savio Vega in a Caribbean Strap Match and loses, thereby sending his manager Ted Dibiase packing from the organiation. He moves on to win the King of The Ring 1996, then enters into a feud with Bret "Hitman" Hart, losing a match at Survivor Series '96, then is seen facing the Undertaker in a title match and losing thanks to the Hart Foundation. He also wins two WWE tag team titles with Shawn Michaels and Dude Love (Mick Foley), but also faces off against Michaels and Foley later down the road. He also faces Owen Hart and is given what is called a "stinger" which is a temporary paralysis caused by a neck injury (Hart gave him a Tombstone Piledriver), but Austin pins Hart for the Intercontinental Title but is forced to give it up due to his neck injury. He is out for a few weeks but returns and reaks vengeance on Hart, and enters into a feud with Mr. McMahon, who attempts to make him his corporate champion after Austin finally wins the WWE title. In a First Blood Match at King of The Ring 1998, Kane defeats Austin for his first and only WWE Title, but Austin regains it one night later on Raw. The Rock enters the sights of Austin next, and they trade the WWE Title back and forth, then Austin targets the man who co-conspired to take him out of action permanently, Triple HHH, in two violent matches. This DVD set is really quite well-done and gets a rating of 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

Review: The Sasquatch Triangle/The AARF Show 2-28-08
The Sasquatch Triangle was pretty good, although Don could not make it due to auto problems, so it was Sean and myself shooting the breeze about a variety of subjects in the Bigfoot field, including about how the Patterson/Gimlin Movie is an old chestnut which is talked and beaten to death, as well as those new possible photos from Washington State taken with a cell-phone camera, as well as habituation and how our methods are not working in the field, even after 50 years. A caller who goes by Creature Seeker called in and discussed some research methods and other things. A caller called in and told of filming a show on Bigfoot, when he and his crew spotted a real creature which they at first mistook for their actor in the suit. All in all, pretty good show.

Using earth orbiting satellites, researcher David Flynn has studied the high plateau of Bolivia and claims to have found previously undiscovered unnatural patterns stretching outward from Lake Titicaca for hundreds of square miles. According to Inca legend, Lake Titicaca was revered as the location where the god Viracocha created a race of giants and later, the first humans. The Inca maintained that the giants built Tiahuanaco and also many other cities and structures in the area. Review: Bigfoot Live 2-27-08

This was a pretty good show, with TJ Biscardi hosting, with guests Eric Altman, Steve Kulls, Billy Willard and others, who discussed their research and also some reports. Eric discussed his longtime interest in the subject and also his research and the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society, as well as his associations with other researchers. This was a good show, I enjoyed it.

Gary Opit, host of Australia's Wildlife Talkback radio broadcast, details several of the reported sightings he received over the last ten years of supposed Tasmanian Tigers, also known as thylacines. Editorial: Is the Patterson/Gimlin Movie an old chestnut?
Many pieces of evidence have come down the pike in many criminal cases, such as blood, skin and hair samples, murder weapons and other evidence. This kind of thing can also apply to Bigfoot research. In our case, we have hair samples, blood, footprints with dermal ridges and fecal matter. However, the most intriguing piece of evidence in favor of the existence of hairy bipeds is the Patterson/Gimlin Movie, taken by the late Roger Patterson and Robert Gimlin, October 20, 1967. Many researchers have looked into the film, but the current investigators are Chris Murphy, Daniel Perez and M.K. Davis. Now, M.K. Davis hosts the Internet Radio program Bigfoot Central on Tuesday nights, and makes the P/G Movie a bit of the focus of every show, which causes some to not want to tune in because they want to hear about other aspects of the Bigfoot mystery, not the P/G Movie every week. They think the film is an old chestnut and should be left in the bin of history. But, in my opinion, it is not an old chestnut, because to be quite honest, it is the best evidence we have, and I am 98% convinced it is real. The deal is, if people do not want to hear about the P/G Movie every week on Bigfoot Central, they do not have to listen. No one is holding a gun to their head to listen to the show. Besides, they should know what they are getting with a show hosted by the foremost authority into the film. In my mind, the film should be discussed, even if it is weekly, because it still continues to yield information to those who want to look into it. I will continue to listen to the Bigfoot Central show and not be so hung up on whether the film is an old chestnut or not. The film is still important and should be discussed at least on one Bigfoot program each week.
Review: Bigfoot Central 2-26-08
This was a pretty great show, an open-mic show, in which M.K. and Don discussed a series of photos of a tribe called the Yaghans, who had unusual feet, similar to the creature in the P/G Movie. He sort of used the P/G Movie as a visual aid to compare to the feet of these unusual Indians, kind of a theme show. I enjoyed how M.K. tied the Yaghan's feet into the P/G Movie creature's feet, and how flexible they are, which denotes that it is not a costumed individual but is a creature with a living foot. Several e-mails, including mine, were read, including one from an individual decrying the con artists and hoaxers in the Bigfoot field, but as M.K. and Don explained, they don't talk bad about anyone in this field. It was a great show, even if there are people out there tired of hearing about the old chestnut of the P/G Movie (that was the subject of my e-mail, and M.K. explained that it is because the film continues to yield new information every time he looks into it). I enjoyed the show. Don't know what the guys have in store for next week (watch this blog next late-Monday night or Tuesday for details), but it should be a good one, beginning at 8:00 EST/7:00 Central at http://www.artistfirst.com And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
