This one goes out to that big fuzzy fella we'd all love to have at our birthday party.

Review: Sasquatch Watch Radio 8-10-09
This was a pretty terrific show, with guest Donna Cohrs, who discussed her research with her sister and their group Stocking Hominid Research as well as recent activity she has observed just last month. Bill and I called in and Bill talked about the Georgia Hoax and reminded everyone that this is the week of the Anniversary. I asked Donna about the substrate in Florida and how conducive it is to tracks and also the possibility of the three-toed tracks being the result of not all the toes reaching the ground. Dunno what Billy and DB have planned for next week, but it begins at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
Photo: Cryptid Paw Print-South-Central Poland Phantoms & Monsters
A footprint of an unidentified animal found in Janikow, Poland. A bear print? Bears don't live in this part of Poland. The size of the print suggests a large cat species. Locals think it may belong to the "czarna łapa" (black paw), a local legend about a black beast that lives in the woods and devours kids.
Bear, Black Lion - impossible? Not Necessarily San Francisco Chronicle
A ranch owner watched a black mountain lion for more than 10 minutes in the foothills near Dublin in Alameda County, California. This was the longest eyewitness account of a black mountain lion reported by a wildlife expert in 20 years. The next day, another one was seen by an engineer in the nearby San Ramon hills. The pelt of a black mountain lion has never been recovered by officials. Elsewhere, a Cryptomundo correspondent shares a report on Riverside’s Melanistic Panther.

Review: Nite Callers 8-9-09
This was a really good show, with guests Dave Paulides and Harvey Pratt (The Hoopa Project, Tribal Bigfoot) who discussed their research as well as their findings in that research. They also discussed some interesting reports from Minnesota and Oklahoma, in addition to Northern California. Two callers that I know of, Smiter and myself, were on the air, and Smiter discussed some of the research being done in Australia and also some of the interesting things he has found. I also called in and discussed a recent article by the Blogsquatcher on his blog about gorillas clapping and how it might be the reason for the sounds of wood-knocking. I also brought up what Diane Stocking had theorized recently about the wood-knocking sounds might also be from beating on a hollow chest cavity or jaw-popping. Next week, the guest will be Eric Altman, researcher from Pennsylvania, 7:00 EST/6:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Swimming Ground Sloths Cryptomundo
Could some South American “sea monster” sightings actually be due to sea-going sloths? The discovery of these animals was first announced in Peru in May 1995, but, asks Loren Coleman, have they swam under the sonar of most “sea cryptid” discussions? Elsewhere, in The Chesapeake Bay Monster, a look back at some reports of a long, snake like creature in the waters of the largest estuary in United States. And another look back at a watery monster, in Mystery Still Engulfs Lake Worth Monster
Gorillas Clap The Blogsquatcher
Recent speculation that what Bigfoot researchers have thought was Bigfoot beating wood against wood as a signal was actually Bigfoot clapping its hands together has elicited some response. It seems gorillas use hand clapping to signal one another or the group that something possibly threatening is happening. Meanwhile, Loren Coleman atCryptomundo answers his own question regarding a photo in Idaho Blobsquatch? No, and, taking on the possible existence of another legendary creature, Coleman offers Famed Beat Poet Saw a Sea Serpent. With images.
