The Sasquatch Experience Returns Tomorrow!!!!!!

Sean and I are bringing the Sasquatch Experience back, and our first guests, before we get rolling with our look at all 50 states and all the Canadian Provinces we will have Craig Woolheater and Monica Rawlins on to discuss the upcoming 9th-Annual Texas Bigfoot Conference. The show begins at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central, and as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
Dan Brown's new novel, The Lost Symbol, mentions one of our favorite monsters of the deep, as explained by Loren Coleman. But what exactly is the Washington, D.C. connection? Elsewhere, as Adam Davies leads a team of intrepid researchers bent on discovering the best evidence of a bipedal hominoid in the rainforests of Sumatra, the members of the expedition from the UK's Centre for Fortean Zoology update the teams progress and goals in their Latest Press Release.

Reviews: Bigfoot Busters/Bigfoot Quest 9-15-09

Bigfoot Busters was great, with guest Derek Randles who discussed a good deal about the research he is doing on the Sasquatch in Washington State, as well as the Olympic Project, a project involving game cams that are covered with Bondo on the front and with the appearance of tree bark. I called in and talked to Derek a good bit about the Olympic Project and also about his research. Abe the Elusive 1 also called in and talked to Derek about the research he is doing. Derek did mention that his research speculates that Sasquatch walks ridgelines. Next week, Tim and Chuck will be doing some Sasquatch research talk, beginning at 7:00 EST/6:00 Central.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bigfoot Quest was also stellar, with guest Dr. J. Robert Alley (Raincoast Sasquatch) who discussed a good deal about his research with Ray Crowe and the late Rene Dahinden. He talked a good bit about reports in Alaska and also on The British Columbia Coast, as well as reports further south in Washington and Oregon. I called in and asked him if he was writing a follow-up to his first book, and he says he is, tentatively titled The Alaskan Sasquatch which will focus more on the Northern Alaskan Coast reports. He also mentioned that he was part of a program on Alaskan Cryptids which will air on The Discovery Channel next Spring. His website is http://www.sasquatchtracker.com Not sure what Bob and Mike have planned for next week, but it begins at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Lloyd Pye is England, continuing his now decade-long study of a 900-year-old relic retrieved from a Mexican copper mine and designated the "Starchild Skull." Many tests by highly reputable scientists have been performed on the test, and, if reports are to be believed, those tests have all indicated the skull is not entirely of this world. Could the skull actually be that of a child conceived through the mating of an extraterrestrial and an Earthwoman? With photo and video.

Cryptoelephants Cryptomundo
Loren Coleman reviews the new book, Guide Des Animaux Caches, by the French author Philippe Coudray who theorizes in his writing that an unfossilized tusk discovered in Ethiopia in 1904 may indicate some prehistoric elephant ancestors could still be roaming the most out-of-the-way areas of the Dark Continent. Coleman reviews more of Coudray's depictions of cryptids in Guides Des Animaux Caches. With many images in both reviews. Elsewhere, reports of a curious arrangement between the British Natural History museum and a British betting agency make news in Loch Ness Monster Curious Museum Bookie Arrangement. Meanwhile, another cryptid is featured in the report Mongolian Death Worm Hunters Return With Film but no Creature.

This was a pretty terrific show, with guest Thom Powell (The Locals) who discussed his interest and research into Sasquatch, as well as talking about some of the stories in the book, such as the Rocky Bounds case and the Battle Mountain case. Mike Hall called in and talked to Thom about his research and asked him questions. I also called in and asked Thom some questions and visited with him a bit. I also asked him if he would like to be part of the Second-Annual Authors Month on HBM's Crypto-Corner coming next month. Not sure what Laurie, Lauren and Luke have planned for next week, but it begins at 7:00 EST/6:00 Central.

A recent trailcam picture believed to show something that resembled a Bigfoot in a Kentucky man's garden has been analyzed. Here are some comparison photos that show what really visited the Kentucky garden. Meanwhile, a search for cryptids is about to get underway in Sumatra, and there's a video interview with one ot the mission's key members in Interview with Richard Freeman on the Eve of the Expedition.

A creature is said to lurk in Cameron Lake, British Columbia. The Scientific Cryptozoology Club will be investigating the events, and the lake itself, this week after reports and pictures of the creatures emerged recently. But excited residents aren't eager to rid themselves of the suspected serpent-like monster. Instead, the Oceanside Tourism board is helping the cause since they are very aware that a tourism boon may be swimming beneath its placid waters. "There are no reports of anyone getting attacked at one of these lakes. In fact, it's a great tourist attraction," says John Kirk.

In the eastern forested side of Texas comes the legend of a hairy hominid that stalks the nearly 12 million acres of wilderness. The first reports appear in Native American legends and in stories published before the turn of the century. The pursuit of Bigfoot sometimes resulted in harrowing encounters, some supposedly lethal. These stories were the jumping off point for the co-founder of the Texas Bigfoot Research Center, Craig Woolheater. One encounter, dubbed the Lake Worth Monster, was all the buzz in the summer of 1969 and came to a climax with an alleged attack on a man sleeping in his truck at night; the man narrowly escaped the beast. Although the facts may never come close to the fiction with some of the reports, it's these stories, along with his own personal sighting of the elusive "Goatman" while traveling with a friend in the backwoods of Louisiana, that fuels Woolheater's passion to research the legendary cryptid today.

It has taken six years, but as of November 1, 2009, the International Cryptozoology Museum will open to the public in a permanent space in downtown Portland, Maine. The museum will be sharing the space with Green Hand Books, owned by Michelle Souliere, an anomalist and editor of the Strange Maine Newsletter. Loren Coleman provides details of what the museum will exhibit and explains the “Fayette coincidence” of its location.

Review: Bigfoot: America's King Kong/Nite Callers Tomorrow...

B:AKK was pretty good, mostly a call-in show since the guest Jimmy Chilcutt was unable to be on the show due to technical issues and miscommunication. So, Bill and I called in and discussed the recent supposed photo from Kentucky as well as some of the more recent Bigfoot news. Hopefully, Jordy and Abe will have Jimmy on next Friday, 9:00 EST/8:00 Central.

Thom Powell, a Clackamas County resident junior high school science teacher and author of The Locals: A Contemporary Investigation of the Bigfoot/Sasquatch Phenomenon has never seen a bigfoot. He is a skeptic. But in years of research, he's convinced there's no reason the creature - if it exists - could not freely roam up and down the Tualatin River. As Powell sees it, the river is a natural migration route for animals traveling back and forth between the Coast Range and the Cascades. Given the elusive and nocturnal tendencies attributed to Bigfoot, as well as the heavily wooded ravines that cris-cross the area, a large and intelligent animal could go all but undetected. "All bets are off at night," Powell said. "We are absolutely not inhabitants of the landscape at night, so whatever's inhabiting it, we have no awareness of it, we can't do anything about it, and we absolutely can't document it." Powell is of the opinion that any real life Bigfoot is likely a hominid, the scientific classifications for all animals on the "human" side of man's evolutionary divergence from the ancestors of modern apes, an even believed to have occurred some 15 - 30 million years ago. "Neanderthals may not be as extinct as we think" he said. In The Locals, Thom Powell approaches the subject as a middle-school science teacher (surely among the most jaded and cynical of professions) who used the Sasquatch phenomenon to teach the difference between junk science and the scientific method. After some years of automatically characterizing the Sasquatch as junk science, he realized that, tabloid journalism notwithstanding, rigorous scientific inquiry and the scientific method were precisely what the Sasquatch phenomenon needed. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Computer scans of New Zealand fossils may have helped scientists unravel a mystery about a giant raptor that became extinct 500 years ago. Says a researcher: "The science supports Maori mythology of the legendary pouakai or hokioi, a huge bird that could swoop down on people in the mountains and was capable of killing a small child." Also, the Great Tit Turns Out to be a Killer, as recent finds suggest that bats can now be added to the Great Tit's menu.

A cellphone picture supposedly captured by a fisherman is circulating on the net of an unknown object or cryptid near a lake in Argentina. Some claim it's a pterodactyl, some a UFO, since the image is difficult to determine one way or another. But others are doubtful to its overall authenticity at all. With a follow-up that asks the question: Pterodactyls Or Windshield Cracks? Also on Cryptomundo, a Chicago-Area Black Panther Sighting.

The Norfolk Sea Serpent? Still on the Track
A roundup of reports of a sea serpent said to be up to 60ft in length and very fast moving off the coast of Norfolk in the UK. The descriptions evoke classic sea-serpent characteristics of small head, long slim body and diamond-shaped frill along the back. The most recent report dates back to 1978. Elsewhere, Loren Coleman and a few hundred other people went on a Sea Serpent Whale Watch from Bar Harbor, Maine last week. With photos.
The "Hobbit" is slipping into height charts with the other folks, including Homo floresiensis, just as other cryptozoological figures are showing up in pseudo-police lineups. Elsewhere, a skeptic questions a couple of recent photos in Fairies and Bigfoot.

Please join Jordan and Elusive as they invite Jimmy Chilcutt to the show! Jimmy Chilcutt is a fingerprint expert witness, formerly of the Conroe Police Department, Texas. Before retiring from police work, he accumulated eighteen years as a latent fingerprint examiner and crime scene investigator. He holds a Master Police Officer Certification from the State of Texas. Chilcutt rose to prominence in the world of bigfoot research after watching Jeff Meldrum mention dermal ridges on a TV documentary. Chilcutt contacted Melrum and arranged to examine a number of plaster casts of alleged bigfoot footprints at Idaho State University, after which Chilcutt declared that they were of an unknown primate. In 2003, Chilcutt gave a presentation at the International Bigfoot Symposium in Willow Creek, California, and subsequently told the British Broadcasting Corporation, "I know there's an animal out there, because I've seen the physical evidence." And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
Thunderbirds of the Southwest Phantoms & Monsters
For years people in the desert southwestern United States have been reporting seemingly impossibly large birds. Those who haven't made such sightings have placed the claims alongside the chupacabras and the Jersey Devil, humorous legends they say defy belief. But the stories of huge birds or birdlike creatures continue across southern New Mexico and parts of Texas. Here are some accounts of these sightings. There are legends of fantastic creatures in the United Kingdom, too, and here's the tale of one legendary creature being sought in England's longest lake: Psychic and Photographer in Hunt for 'Bownessie' Beneath Windermere.
