Before retiring from police work, he accumulated eighteen years as a latent fingerprint examiner and crime scene investigator. He holds a Master Police Officer Certification from the State of Texas. Chilcutt rose to prominence in the world of bigfoot research after watching Jeff Meldrum mention dermal ridges on a TV documentary. Chilcutt contacted Melrum and arranged to examine a number of plaster casts of alleged bigfoot footprints at Idaho State University, after which Chilcutt declared that they were of an unknown primate. In 2003, Chilcutt gave a presentation at the International Bigfoot Symposium in Willow Creek, California, and subsequently told the British Broadcasting Corporation, "I know there's an animal out there, because I've seen the physical evidence." Thunderbirds of the Southwest Phantoms & Monsters

For years people in the desert southwestern United States have been reporting seemingly impossibly large birds. Those who haven't made such sightings have placed the claims alongside the chupacabras and the Jersey Devil, humorous legends they say defy belief. But the stories of huge birds or birdlike creatures continue across southern New Mexico and parts of Texas. Here are some accounts of these sightings. There are legends of fantastic creatures in the United Kingdom, too, and here's the tale of one legendary creature being sought in England's longest lake: Psychic and Photographer in Hunt for 'Bownessie' Beneath Windermere.

Editorial: Did a Kentucky Game Cam Capture Sasquatch?

A new photo has surfaced from Jefferson County, Kentucky, of what appears to be some sort of being, dark, mysterious, unknown (or IS it unknown?). It appears to some to be a possible Sasquatch or at the very least a gorilla of some sort, but there are those who have said it is actually a bird in mid-flight, a crow or turkey vulture or buzzard. That is the direction I lean in as well, that it is most likely a bird of some sort caught in mid-flight. But, even if it WERE a photo of a Sasquatch, it does not solve the mystery and proves nothing. It makes for interesting conversation, but ultimately it is in the same class as the Jacobs Photos, the Polish Videos which recently surfaced, the Freeman footage, the Memorial Day footage and yes, the Patterson/Gimlin Film-it does not prove that Sasquatch exists. It only provides us with an interesting image or footage or video and something to talk about, but ultimately it does not get us any closer to solving the mystery. Whether this new photo is of a Sasquatch, bird, bear or just a trash bag blowing in the wind, it will still not get us any closer to resolution of this issue.

Davies Expedition to Depart Cryptomundo

A team of explorers is getting set to adventure into the wilds of Sumatra with team leader Adam Davies, cryptozoologist and author of Extreme Expeditions: Travel Adventures Stalking the World's Mystery Animals. Davies and his companions will be seeking the elusive Orang Pendek with the help of the native Kubu people who have often witnessed the bipedal hairy hominoid in the rainforests. They will also be attempting to document the existence of other cryptids reported by the Kubu, such as large horned snakes and golden cats with out-sized canine teeth. With images. Meanwhile, at Cryptozoology Online, a website of the United Kingdom's Centre for Fortean Zoology (CFZ), Davies shares His Hopes for the Expedition. Several CFZ members are accompanying Davies on the Sumatra trek. Elsewhere, there's now a video news report about America's huge hairy hominoid at CNN: Backyard Bigfoot?

Review: Bigfoot Quest 9-8-09/2 Shows Tonight...

This was a pretty terrific show, which was originally to have Dr. Robert Alley as the guest, but he was once again unable to make it, so they will try again for next week. It wound up being a call-in show, with Bill Green and I calling in to talk about the newest possible photo from Kentucky as well as some issues in the Bigfoot world. Bill and I mildly debated about the new Kentucky photo as well as some issues in the Bigfoot world, and Bobbie Short and Don Keating called in also. Bobbie's website, www.bigfootencounters.com was plugged on CNN yesterday in a story about the Kentucky photo, and Don was giving his .02 cents on the Kentucky photo. New Giant Rat Discovered in Extinct Volcano Cryptomundo

An intrepid film crew from the United Kingdom's BBC is believed to have documented 40 new species, including the giant rat and a frog with fangs, while filming the documentary "Lost Land of the Volcano" which premieres tonight. HBM's was pretty good, discussing with Abe Del Rio and John Cartwright different forms of evidence for cryptids, mostly for Sasquatch, such as footprints with dermal ridges, videos and films, DNA samples and other forms of evidence. We also deviated a bit into territory of the recent claims on the Patterson/Gimlin Film, as well as discussing the return of the Sasquatch Experience. We are working on a special guest for our next show, September 20, back at our regular start time of 9:30 EST/8:30 Central. And, don't forget, next month is our Second-Annual Authors' Month.
