Review: Nite Callers 7-26-09/Special Announcement for Next Sunday...

Nite Callers was GREAT, with guest Doug Hajicek, producer of Monsterquest who discussed his beginnings into researching unusual phenomena when he saw a line of tracks in an isolated part of northern Canada accessible only by float plane in the '90's. He discussed some of the camera tricks he has used in the field, including the Reconyx cameras which are used quite extensively by he and his crew. He took callers such as Abe the Elusive1, Jordan Warner live from the field and myself, who asked him about the possibility of doing a third show on the giant squid, as well as about future MQ's on Bigfoot (he said he is doing 2-hour programs for the fourth season, including on the Yeti). I also asked him Bill's standard question and also about the Georgia hoax and the possibility of doing a hoax show (again, from Bill). The other callers were Mike Hall and Linda Godfrey. Next Sunday, Lauren, Laurie and Luke welcome Jaime Avalos as the guest, 7:00 EST/6:00 Central.

HBM's Crypto-Corner next Sunday, August 2nd, 2009, welcomes Doug Hajicek, producer of Monsterquest 9:30 EST/8:30 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
A visit to the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History reveals the surprising claim that "(W)e are smack-dab in the middle of the age of discovery for mammals." With around 400 new species of mammals added to the mammalian list since last totaled in 2005, perhaps the claim is correct. But what of the numerous "mass extinctions for which we humans are largely to blame"? With images. Meanwhile, at Phantoms & Monsters a lake creature sets the stage for some high strangeness in'Windermere Monster' Wake Pummels Swimmer. And there's more on this story, in a fashion, in New CFZ Expedition Takes Place Without Our Knowledge.

Reports from villages in the Ongwediva district of Namibia are saying some mysterious beasts are decimating domestic livestock in the region. Some villagers are reporting the creatures have wiped out their livestock. While some reports say the unidentified predators are sucking the blood of the livestock, others are describing complete devourings. Has the chupacabras shown up in Africa's Namibia, or are villagers dealing, as many suspect, with witchcraft?
Loren Coleman shares some puzzling testimony from a recent tribal council meeting in the Lakota (Sioux) Nation of South Dakota. The testimony came from an elderly woman during a meeting with federal officials. The reference to "Walking Sam" and suicides among the youth of the Lakota community is new, but the presence of a large, hairy entity among the First Nations has a long timeline Coleman shares here. With maps and other images. Elsewhere on the Bigfoot front, there's a report that dates back to the fall of 2008 in Mike Conley's Tales of the Weird: Man Describes Possible Bigfoot Encounter in McDowell.

PhotobucketDoug Hajicek (pronounced high-check), president of Whitewolf Entertainment Inc, is a television documentary veteran. He has produced over 200 TV features since 1987, covering the globe from Russia, the un-explored jungles of Belize, up to the Arctic. He has experienced the diversity and adversity of the business, making him a strong director and field producer. He knows what’s needed to tell a compelling story, in long or short form. He is also a seasoned offline editor, having tested and helped with development of an early computer system and then used it as the first non-linear editor for a TV series in 1990. Hajicek has been dubbed “The Camera Explorer” by some, inventing and implementing new camera systems in untested places. In 2006 his greatest accomplishment may have been his development of the Trojan Squid Cam, used to film the worlds first free swimming Giant Squid in 2006 that was over 54 feet long. Hajicek is also a skilled Video photographer, and often a Television story writer. His interest in the famous 1967 Patterson Film lead him to forensically 3D animate the strange rotating lower leg walk, he dubbed “The Mountain Gait.” Recently he developed and built a Laser measuring device that automatically measures animals it films both above water and below. Used recently to measure and film the first giant Greenland shark in the fresh water St. Lawrence River in Canada, where sharks were thought not to exist. His successful Television career has now spanned more than a quarter century and he continues with innovative hit series like Monster Quest. Now airing on the History Channel Wednesdays at 9 pm central time. Join us on Nite Callers with guest host Pat Rance as we bring Mr. Doug Hajicek to our listeners. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
NOTE: There are strong sexual scenes related in this posting. Lisa Lee Harp Waugh, making note of the vigorous pre-release sales of Brad Steiger's new book Real Vampires, Night Stalkers, and Creatures from the Darkside, scheduled for release in September, gives her take on the nature of true vampires. Do they walk among us? Are they after more than blood? Meanwhile, another side of eternal life gets the once over from Rick Phillips at The Heavy Stuff in his discourse on The 'Promise' of 'Everlasting' Life - And What It Might Mean After We Are Dead.

Dr. Karl Shuker reports on canine cryptids, and not just corporeal ones, either. Noting first the Black Dogs of North America and the British Isles, Shuker goes on to mention many cryptid canine entities from exotic locales around the globe. Elsewhere, Cryptozoology Online offers some footage taken during the recent Warner Amazon Expedition, and you'll find it atFinally Mike and Greg Warner Release Some Film from Their Expedition to Peru in Search of Giant Snakes.
