Bigfoot Quest Tomorrow...
Review: Sasquatch Watch Radio 6-15-09
Loren Coleman observed earlier that we should have been able to come up with a ballpark figure for the length of the creature filmed by Eric Olsen on Lake Champlain. Now, with new enhanced footage that shows the wave distribution and disturbance patterns, an estimate is available. With images and several videos.
Yankee Notebook: Eyes See Champ Because It's Possible Times Argus
Vermont writer Willem Lange uses a number of cryptids in his discourse on the recent footage taken by Eric Olsen of something mysterious swimming near the shore on Lake Champlain. Many think the creature in Olsen's footage is the legendary Champ, a creature Lange says deserves better images than the cartoonish creations manufactured to depict it thus far. Some of the images are included, along with a humorous newspaper item, in Loren Coleman's report Sunday Funnies: Champ at Cryptomundo, and Coleman has also posted some archival video concerning the Russian Snowman.

Reviews: Nite Callers and HBM's Crypto-Corner 6-14-09
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------_
On HBM's the guest was Hollywood special effects makeup artist Bill Munns, who discussed his career in that field and answered questions from Bill Green about his work on films. He also answered a good deal of questions on the Patterson/Gimlin Film that I asked and also the chatters asked, regarding his work on it, including questions on limb ratios, the software used for the digital model, the camera use and other aspects. Bill (and Foos-Squatch) even slipped in the Georgia Hoax into the show (ai, yi yi!!!). I also asked about the special-effects gurus who believe it is a hoax merely after only looking at it once. The show will be back in two weeks, with a guest (dunno who yet), 9:30 EST/8:30 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Book Review: The Lake Worth Monster by Sallie Ann Clarke
This book, written in the Summer of 1969 during the height of monstermania in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area, takes us into the Lake Worth/Greer Island area, where there were sightings of a half-man, half-goat, half-fish (?!) white, hairy creature, 7 feet tall and around 300-350 pounds. Many of the stories in this book are fictional, and Clarke does not hide that fact, such as stories of people being killed by the Monster (which never happened), stories of attempted injuries to people, stories of the creature carrying people off and other outrageous obvious fiction. But there are some fact-based accounts, such as tires with the rims being thrown (which I believe only happened once), as well as some stories of it jumping on cars (that MIGHT have happened once) and other more plausible stories. I would recommend this book, and give it about a 4 out of 5 stars, but it is largely fiction, with a smattering of more plausible stories thrown in. It can be ordered from Daniel Perez at Bigfoot Times for $15.00.

Book Review: Sasquatch/Bigfoot and the Mystery of the Wildman by Dr. Jean-Paul Debenat

Very good book on not only Bigfoot, but Pacific Northwest Culture.
This book, originally written in French by the author, has been translated by Dr. Paul LeBlond and brought to American audiences by Chris Murphy and Hancock House, and it is a good one. Dr. Debenat presents us the classics of the Sasquatch field, as well as Native American legends and eyewitness accounts. But, he goes beyond that, by presenting us with his interactions with Pacific Northwest researchers such as the late Fred Bradshaw, as well as his good friend Dr. Ed Fusch (alternate spelling: Fuchs), a prospector of precious minerals, as well as a philosopher and geologist, who gives Debenat a tour of Washington State and different areas, which Debenat describes in really terrific detail. He also talks of his friendship with the late Belgian scientist Dr. Bernard Heuvelmans, and his philosophies on Sasquatch research and on animal ecology and biology. This is one of the better books on the subject to come along in some time, and really highly recommended. There are also some really terrific photographs, several pages of color photos, which compliment the book very well. Thank you, Dr. LeBlond and Mr. Murphy, for bringing this rare treasure to American audiences.

9:00 EST/8:00 Central on History
Engrained in the history and mythology of India are tales of a ferocious creature, half-man, half-ape. It has been dubbed the monkey-man and headlines across the world have told of the vicious nocturnal attacks that occurred in India's capital, New Delhi. The city's population was gripped with fear of a violent creature described by eyewitnesses as having sharp claws, fangs and dark hair. After three people died and dozens were hospitalized fleeing the creature, 3,000 police officers were tasked with capturing the animal, but came up empty handed. Experts were divided over whether this was a case of mass panic or an unknown primate. Even today, witnesses in other parts of the country continue to report terrifying encounters with a similar beast. MonsterQuest launches an expedition and meets the victims of the monkey man, sees their scars first hand and searches for a connection to the most recent sightings.
