Review: Nite Callers 1-4-09
This was a pretty terrific show, with guest Crystal Steniger of East Texas, who discussed her research and also her habituation dealings on her family farm. She discussed some of the encounters she has had, as well as her sound encounters. Laurie played some sound clips of howls, wood knocks and whistles recorded in Mississippi last month (fascinating stuff). During the second hour, there were only 3 callers, Stan Courtney, who discussed sounds (including those he recorded himself) as well as experiences he has had. Bill Green called in and asked various questions, including discussing the Georgia hoax. I was the following caller, discussing with Crystal about baiting methods as well as about sounds used by different researchers to draw in 'Squatches. Next week, Bear, Laurie and Shasta bring Dan Ricke on the show beginning at 7:00 EST/6:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
A Special Investigation Unit (SIU) project at the site code-named "Marley Woods" took a definitely cryptozoological path in the last quarter of 2008. Beginning last September and continuing through December 22, large white dog- or bear-like animals began to appear to the various property owners whose holdings make up the Marley Woods. Analysis of hair samples has not yet been able to match the hairs collected at Marley Woods with any animal species. Meanwhile, the phenomena that initially led the SIU to investigate the area continues, as shown in Marley Woods Update January 3, 2009. With many sighting investigations and photos in both reports. What is causing the mysterious phenomena at Marley Woods?
Shock Number of Big Cat Sightings WalesOnline
Big cats in the United Kingdom continue to garner press attention, even as we creep into the New Year. Scores of ABCs (Alien Big Cats or Anomalous Big Cats) reports are jamming law enforcement files across the UK countryside. Meanwhile, the proliferation of out-of-place large felines has led to the anouncement of the Cryptid Cat Conference: March 2009. Elsewhere, Darren Naish at Tetrapod Zoology presents some interesting photos while trying to solve The Mystery of Pete the Purple Squirrel.
Local Bigfoot Investigation WHIZ-TV
At the Crossroads Branch Library in Cambridge, OH, a meeting last night brought to light the continuing Bigfoot experience in that state. The Southeastern Ohio Society for Bigfoot Investigation takes tales of the creature seriously, and meets regularly to discuss the evidence. With photos. Meanwhile, in Canada where Sasquatch/Bigfoot reports are not uncommon, at least one columnist is saying Better that Bigfoot Doesn't Exist.

DVD Review: Sasquatch of The Olympic Mountains: Evidence Revealed
Really terrific research documentary.
This 45-plus-minute documentary goes into the field with Andrew Peterson and his wife as they find interesting bits of evidence such as pulled-up sword ferns, footprints, twisted trees, hair samples and other bits of evidence. They also set out game cams in the Olympic Rainforest, principally in the Hoh Rainforest and catch some interesting images, but nothing conclusive. Still, the viewer gets a great look at a beautiful area of the United States, and some really good research techniques. The team even attempts to chase down an alleged 'Squatch, without success. I do give this one about a 4 out of 5 stars. It can be ordered Here.

Nite Callers Tomorrow...
Not sure what Bear, Laurie and Shasta have planned, but it begins at 7:00 Eastern/6:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
Update: their guest will be Crystal Steniger, a researcher from Northeast Texas.
Nick Redfern reviews Linda S. Godfrey's newest book, Strange Wisconsin: More Badger State Weirdness. Godfrey covers many different cases of high strangeness in her newest effort at defining the weirdness of Wisconsin, including such "Freaky Fauna" as the "Mangy Werewolf" of Black River Falls, the "Pig-Men" of Brussels and the Beast of Bray Road. Meanwhile, there's more cryptozoological lore in the latest video issue of the Centre for Fortean Zoology's On the Track: Episode 16 (January 2009), and at the popular Cryptomundo website, Loren Coleman has gotten a significant number of responses to a recent survey, allowing him to postWho You Are: Cryptomundo's Reader Profile.

Review: Beyond The Edge Radio 1-2-09
This was a terrific show, with guest Sergeant Todd Neiss, who had an encounter in 1993 with three Sasquatches in the Coastal range of Oregon. He recounted his sighting during the first half-hour, then took some questions from Sean and Eric. The show actually began with Mike Esordi of http://www.bigfootmuseum.com discussing fundraising for Loren Coleman and his Cryptozoology Museum. Todd also discussed his research into the Sasquatch in Oregon and Washington State. During the second hour, Smiter called in and went off-topic once again with the Yowie stuff. Diane Stocking also called in and discussed her impending move to Oregon and also her participation in the Ohio Bigfoot Conference in May, and also at the Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up. Bill Green called in and asked Todd about Ray Crowe and how he is doing and also Bill's standard question and also if Todd is thinking of writing a book on his experiences. I asked Todd about sightings on the Coast in that area (before BTR cut me off). Next Friday, Sean and Eric will bring the Cryptokeeper back to the program, none other than Chester Moore, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Beyond The Edge Radio Tomorrow...
The first new show of 2009 will feature as the guest Bigfoot witness/researcher Sergeant Todd Neiss. Not only that, but Scott Hackenslash and his Movie News and Reviews segment, as well as Paranormal News on the Five, and who knows what other fun will be had for two hours on Blog Talk Radio. The fun begins at 9:00 Eastern/8:00 Central, and as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
Reviews: Sasquatch Triangle and Nite Callers
Over on Don's show, he had a Year-In-Review show in which he discussed some activities in the Buckeye State, as well as research which occurred in Salt Fork State Park, as well as the Monsterquest episode where he and his research were featured. I called in and discussed the research in Ohio with Don, as did Scott Albaugh and Dave (bluetracker) and discussed some of the research they did with Don as well. Dunno what is planned for the next show but it starts next Wednesday at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Nite Callers, Jim "Bear" Grant, Laurie Phillips and Vicki (Shasta3000) had a Year-In-Review Show of their own where they discussed some great research in Mississippi, as well as experiences they have had in the field. Bill Green was the first caller, and wished them a Happy New Year and also, again, discussed the Georgia Hoax (Bill, buddy, let it go!). I called in and discussed vocalizations, including those I have heard which sound like imitation of my voice (Bear and Laurie echoed those sentiments as well). Evelyn Daly also called in twice, as did Tennessee Cherokee, froggyvet and Donna Cohrs, as well as Mike Killen, who all wished the bunch a Happy New Year. It was a fun show. The show premieres in full Sunday nights beginning this Sunday at 7:00 EST/6:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Top 10 Strangest Stories of 2008 My Fox Wausau
It's the end of the year, so the top stories are being counted down in many different subjects. This time the subject line deals with strangeness, and the ten stories offered here range from a man auctioning off his life to the story of the pregnant man. Meanwhile, Loren Coleman at Cryptomundolines up the listing of the top stories among those who search for cryptid creatures (one of Coleman's stories is shared with the previous list), including many images, in The Top Ten Cryptozoology Stories of 2008.
Tim Binnall recaps the past year's huge cornucopia of UFO information with the guys from UFO Mystic. Nick Redfern and Greg Bishop join Tim to discuss a year of UFO events so plentiful in information that the interview is in two parts. Part 2 will be posted Friday, January 2, 2009. Elsewhere, a serious UFO incident from the past is revisited in Air Force Staff Message: Malmstrom AFB Receives Multiple Reports of UFOs in the Great Falls, Montana Area; and Malmstrom Air Force Base Picks Up UFO on Radar, "Sabotage Alert Team Located Another UFO Directly Over the Base".
