Review: Beyond The Edge Radio 1-25-08
This was a great show, with guest Loyd Auerbach for the first hour, discussing his books, as well as some of his research into psychokinesis and how it affects people seeing spirits. He also discussed some upcoming events he is part of, as well as answering a question from myself regarding whether a person can have experiences in which they smell certain odors around a person such as cigarette smoke and cooking (which I myself have experienced and convinces me that my grandmother is still with me). Scott Hackenslash also checked in with a review of the new film Cloverfield which he gave 3 bloody stumps up to. He also discussed the death of actor Heath Ledger and how it will affect the upcoming sequel The Dark Knight this upcoming Summer which stars Ledger as The Joker. The second hour was devoted to guest-co-host Rick Fisher, who discussed EVP's as well as his investigations into things like Bigfoot, UFOs, Ghosts and other things he and the Paranormal Society of PA has investigated. Full details on the speakers for the 2008 20-Annual Eastern Ohio Bigfoot Conference
Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum looks at a model of the creature captured in the Patterson / Gimlin Bigfoot film from October 20th, 1967. This model and numerous other artifacts were on exhibit in a Bigfoot Museum temporarily housed at Idaho State University where Dr. Meldrum teaches.
Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum from Pocatello, Idaho... Dr. Jeff Meldrum is an Associate Professor of Anatomy & Anthropology in the Departments of Biological Sciences and Anthropology, and is an affiliate curator at the Idaho Museum of Natural History. His formal study of primates began with the terrestrial adaptations of African primates, and has since taken him from the dusty skeletal cabinets of far-flung museums, to the remote badlands of Colombia and Argentina in search of fossil New World primates. He has published extensively on the evolutionary history of the South American primates and has described several new extinct species. His attention returned to the emergence of modern human bipedalism. His co-edited volume, From Biped to Strider: the Emergence of Modern Human Walking, Running, and Resource Transport, redirects attention from the origins of simply walking on two legs, to the pattern of emergence of the innovations specifically unique to modern human gait. His interests in the footprints attributed to an unrecognized North American ape, commonly known as sasquatch, came into focus when he literally crossed paths with an enigmatic set of tracks in the Blue Mountains of Washington State. He has conducted collaborative laboratory and field research throughout the Pacific Northwest and Intermountain West, and has spoken about his findings in numerous interviews, television appearances, public and professional presentations. He is author of Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science, which explores his and other scientists’ evaluations of the evidence suggesting the reality of this legendary primate.

Review: The Sasquatch Triangle 1-24-08
This was a fair show, not one of the greatest, in which Blog Talk Radio decided to take a big steaming dump and go down temporarily, causing me to have to ramble for 15 minutes on the phone while trying to get things working correctly. Once everything was settled down, though, Don did about a 45-minute interview with London, Ohio Bigfoot/UFO researcher Jim Donahoe, who discussed some cases he investigated regarding both phenomena, including Bigfoot sightings close to London and sightings all over the Buckeye State, as well as UFO sightings in Ohio. This was a fair program, but could've been better. “A lady called in and said ‘You probably think I’m nuts, but I’m not … I have not been drinking.’ She reported seeing a Bigfoot or someone dressed in an ape suit on Highway 63 near Stark Road,” Zeigle said. “We sent a couple officers up there and what they found was a set of foot tracks going from the road to the timberline and back to the road and they also found a long, black hair.” He affirmed that there have been no sightings since then.

Bigfoot Expeditions: The Search for Sasquatch
Find out everything you ever wanted to know about the ongoing search for Sasquatch from some recognized leaders in the field. The program features presentations by Robert Gimlin, Richard Noll and Owen Caddy. Gimlin was with Roger Patterson when they shot the now-famous Patterson-Gimlin film-24 feet of color film showing a female Bigfoot walking along a sandy creek, filmed forty years ago in Bluff Creek in Northern California. It is now among the most famous evidence of the creature's existence. Expedition partner and outfitter Gimlin will talk about his experience and the famous encounter on that trail. Noll, a longtime Bigfoot researcher, will talk about his work and the well-known Skookum cast. The cast was made from a partial body print found near Mt. St. Helens in 2000, believed to have been made by a living Sasquatch. A copy of the cast will be on display during Noll's presentation. Caddy will present "Digital Enhancement of the Patterson-Gimlin Film Subject." He will share the results of the film's digital enhancement, revealing for the first time many details of the film subject's face. All three speakers were featured in a recent Bigfoot episode of Monster Quest on the History Channel. Admission is FREE, with a suggested $2 donation.

Noll, a longtime Bigfoot researcher, will talk about his work and the well-known Skookum cast. The cast was made from a partial body print found near Mt. St. Helens in 2000, believed to have been made by a living Sasquatch. A copy of the cast will be on display during Noll's presentation. Caddy will present "Digital Enhancement of the Patterson-Gimlin Film Subject." He will share the results of the film's digital enhancement, revealing for the first time many details of the film subject's face. All three speakers were featured in a recent Bigfoot episode of Monster Quest on the History Channel. Admission is FREE, with a suggested $2 donation.
Bigfoot Field Research Organization will host a tabletop display in the museum gallery. Members of the organization will talk about BFRO and the many Northwest expeditions they have led. Learn about field equipment including night vision cameras, bionic ears and camera traps. Ric Hjertberg of BFRO will speak about research techniques and upcoming expeditions in 2008. Founded in 1995, BFRO is the world's largest Sasquatch organization and a leader in scientific research exploring Sasquatch, seeking to "resolve the mystery surrounding the Bigfoot phenomenon".

Review: Anderson Cooper 360 Scott Herriott Appearance
This was done in the usual tongue-in-cheek fashion that we should be used to from the media, with Anderson inserting frames from the Patterson/Gimlin Movie into photos from the Giants/Packers game from Sunday, the Democratic debate from Monday night and in the 360 studios at CNN. Anderson brought on Erica Hill, who is apparently friends with Scott Herriott, and Anderson did not seem to take it too seriously, but Erica is apparently a bit more open-minded. Anderson talked to Scott, and Scott showed photos of a track from his Walk documentary, as well as showing his video of what he got on videotape in 1992. It was very tongue-in-cheek, but Scott acted admirably as always, and actually made jokes about it himself. Well-done, Scott!!!

Review: Monsterquest 1-23-08
This was a great way to cap off the first season of the newest hit on the History Channel, with journalist/author Linda Godfrey, who discusses several sightings in Wisconsin of something called "Dogman." The beast is described in three ways-either as a large dog, a creature with a wolf-like head or a Bigfoot. Dr. Gregory Bambenek believes it may be psychological, however, and a disease known as St. Martin's Fire is seen as possibly being responsible. Dt. Bambenek and a hunting guide are searching in the Dairy State for evidence of the Dogman. The hunting guide, Don Young, has had at least a couple of sightings. They want a live capture, and are using a tranquilizer gun to that effect. A group of witnesses described seeing a group of these creatures in 2004 drinking from a creek in Rock County, Wisconsin. One of those witnesses has agreed to undergo a polygraph test. One man believes it may be a shape-shifter, a David Walks-As-Bear. This is apparently a Native American belief. Werewolf legends are also discussed and the origins of such, from Europe. The witness who took the polygraph passed it. One of Don Young's encounters is also recounted. He describes a much more Bigfoot-like creature then a wolf-like one. One of the most common explanations for the sightings is, of course, misidentification. Godfrey also has an unidentified piece of hair or fur, and it is sent to Dr. Lynn Rogers, who examines it and determines it to be a domestic cat. A second encounter is also recounted by Young, which could also be a Bigfoot sighting. Bambenek and Young find some sort of bedding area for something, but of course it is not determined exactly what could be using the bedding area. All in all, a really great way to cap off the first season of Monsterquest. Will there be a second season? I will ask Doug Hajicek that very question on February 17th on The Sasquatch Experience.

Book Review: The Pennsylvania Ghost Guide Volume 1 by Patty Wilson
This book really gives the reader a very good overview of ghostly activity in the Keystone State, and the author also shares some of her own personal experiences as well. Reports of activity cover the entire gamut of PA, from two miners who swear a dead Pope kept them company while they were trapped in a collapsed mine to a story of a haunted former whorehouse to an evil spirit at Congelier's Hall which convinced inventor Thomas Edison that spirits were real. Other stories include a priest who still haunts a small church, a visit with psychic Kelly Weaver, who does house cleansings and encountered a very evil place during an investigation, a Native American spirit named Ju-Jubba which haunts and helps a family and the strange case of Tom Eggleton who was seemingly teletransported to Africa! Review: Bigfoot Quest 1-22-08
This was a great show, with researcher Stan Courtney, who discussed his sound research and the equipment he uses when he records various sounds. He uses I believe a Sony recorder, and some of the sounds he has collected were played on the show, and I called in and stuck around for a bit and asked Stan if he was familiar with the Chealis sounds which turned out to be coyotes which was investigated by Thomas Steenburg, and he said he was, and also he mentioned that that particular sound was of poor quality, as are a good majority of recordings collected through the years. It was a great show, full of great info. Review: Bigfoot Central 1-22-08
This was a pretty good show, with Don Monroe taking over hosting duties as M.K. was at work, and he discussed for the first half-hour his research in caves and some of his controversial research and conclusions. He was at Lovelock Cave in Nevada on location on the phone. Then, Florida-based researcher Ronnie Roseman joined him for the second half-hour and discussed some of his associations with researchers over the years, including Peter Byrne and the late Richard Greenwell, the secretary of the International Society of Cryptozoology, as well as his research and film making ventures. It was actually a very enjoyable show, for the most part free of P/G Movie talk (and please, do not misunderstand-I think the P/G Movie is important, but I think there should be a diversity of topics and guests on a good Bigfoot show). Shocking Death in the Entertainment Industry!!!
Actor Heath Ledger, who is portraying The Joker in the upcoming Batman sequel The Dark Knight was found dead in New York City today in an apartment inhabited by Mary-Kate Olsen. He was only 28 years old. Ledger is known for some rather unconventional roles, including his Oscar-nominated role in Brokeback Mountain, and this is an unfortunate and sad turn of events. Condolences go out to his family and friends tonight.
