What's the big deal about a pigmented perissodactyl? This Old World tapir species is known for being bichromatic except for a (mostly) melanistic specimen from the early 20th century. Since that time, its existence has been pawned off as a simple mutation. Now a recent, candid discovery might suggest the Malayan tapir has its own subspecies.
