Minnesota Ice Man - For Sale! Forteana
The real fake Minnesota Ice Man has been sold on eBay for we assume the asking price of $20,000. Forteana gives us a nice bit of background on this infamous piece of cryptozoology history that thrilled freakshow audiences in the 1960s but the mystery remains-was there ever a real Minnesota Ice Man? If so, what was he? And just where is he now? We'd like to see thatsurface on eBay...finally, something new to talk about other than Bigfoot DNA--here's a photo of a Bigfoot Witnessed in Texas near the Neches river. As usual, Bigfoot has assumed his blobsquatch disguise but this time he's brought along a friend, a second Bigfoot. So, there are two distinct odd figures in this photo and the witness tells a convincing story too, so we find ourselves just a bit more impressed than we usually are over blobsquatch photos. It's another busy week in Bigfoot-centric news and this story is bound to make a few headlines over the weekend as a Red Sox Player Calls Out Finding Bigfoot. Apparently a (now disillusioned) fan of the show, Dustin Pedroia tweeted, "Getting frustrated with finding bigfoot show. Mix in some evidence please. Uncle on town hall meetings and squatchy areas." We couldn't have said it better, Mr. Pedroia! And finally, io9 tackles a curious subject in the Bigfoot department--The Science Of Yeti Footprints, and tries to educate us all on how easy it is to mistake partly melted animal tracks for Yeti tracks. While they raise a good point and it has happened, there is enough evidence along with the Yeti footprints to draw the conclusion that not all footprints in the snow can be explained with this theory.

Ohio Bigfoot Conference 2013 UPDATE 2-21-2013- GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS
Hi everyone,
Here's a quick update for all of you.
1- General admission ticket sales have been halted until the day of the event to ensure the walk-ups will have a chance to purchase a ticket. Another week or so of sales would have completely sold out the event with more than 7 weeks to go. WOW!
2- For those of you that have purchased general admission tickets and would like to UPDRADE to VIP tickets please contact us ohiobigfootconference@gmail.com. I have finally obtained our seating chart from the Lodge and do have a limited amount of VIP seats available. These seats will be in the first six rows in the center section and will be available at a first contact, first get basis. This is for ***UPGRADES ONLY***
3- Rooms at the lodge for Saturday night are very limited. I'm going to guess less than four rooms are left. We will be putting up information on another local hotel that will be offering us a "Bigfoot" rate within the next day or two. The campground still has plenty of sites available for those of you who like to be outdoors.
Thank you so much. The response to this event has been unbelievable. Thanks for your support. Take care!

Red Sox Player Calls Out Finding Bigfoot
Davies got a little more than he bargained for on a recent trip into the wilderness to search for evidence of Bigfoot. There are few details to support this story but he claims to have "growls, bumps and a print" as evidence. We aren't sure what he means by "nearly attacked" because you either are or you aren't attacked and we'd sure like to hear and see this evidence...meanwhile, Bigfoot researcher and author of the scariest books we've ever read (Missing 411), David Paulides discusses his own Bigfoot Sighting at MUFON Meeting and it involves a staring contest. It's not clear who won but then again, we'd assume the correct response to Bigfoot staring you down is to turn and run in place for a few seconds like Scooby Doo, screaming in terror.
We already identified this creature before we even opened the link and we were correct. A coyote with mange. It defies belief how many times this misidentification has happened and at this point it might be easier just to change the definition of 'Chupacabra' from "blood-sucking mythical monster" to "coyote with mange". Karl Shuker reveals the less-than-monstrous details behind the legend of another canine anomaly, theFawcett's Double-Nosed Andean Tiger Hound, first discovered by British explorer Percy Fawcett a century ago. The split nosed dog has modern day descendants and is a lot cuter and less mysterious than Fawcett would have had us believe.

Not Finding Bigfoot The Vicar's Lamp
Vicar Lee lists his reasons we can't seem to find Bigfoot, despite all the evidence Bigfoot has left behind from footprints to hair. These days it's far more likely to capture a cameraman for a Bigfoot hunter show than it is to find even a trace of Bigfoot. It seems the most likely reason is that Bigfoot doesn't want to be found and is actually a bit smarter than we are on a primal level. They've survived for thousands of years living a very primitive life in deeply wooded remote locations with an instinctive ability to be spookily elusive while we puny humans shed all our body hair, left the wilderness, and created a modern way of life in which sometimes our biggest challenge is finding the remote under the couch cushions...Nick Redfern recounts the creepy details of a sheep mutilation event in the UK that may have been part of a ritual conducted by the Cult of the Moon beast. The "Beast" in question is supposedly a shape-shifting cryptid that has an insatiable taste for blood...compared to a Moon beast, Nessie is downright cuddly and she's being celebrated on the occasion of her 80th anniversary at an International conference later this spring.

Bad news: I received an email from Dr. Bryan Sykes just now telling me that his travel agent was not able to change the flight itinerary after all which means that Dr. Bryan Sykes will not make it to the March 9th, Western Bigfoot Society meeting and he expresses his sincerest apologies. I will not be attending either because I was only going to be the host of Dr. Bryan Sykes in Portland. It is a sad turn of events.
Good news: I have also received an email from Dr. Anna Nekaris stating that she is formulating a formal response and analysis of the Melba Ketchum DNA project and will do so soon and when that happens I will publish it. As well Dr. Bryan Sykes also is doing the same. When I get those professional evaluations from both Dr. Sykes and Dr. Nekaris we will be posting them at Bigfootology.com.
The Western Bigfoot Society meeting on March 9th is still happening, but it will be with only the original speaker.

More on John Green's position ..... (Re: Upright Ape)
It is usually a good idea to read a book before getting involved in controversy about it. The book is “The Upright Ape”, by Dr. Aaron Filler.
My interest in pre Homo sapiens fossils goes back to university days fully 70 years ago, when I could name and describe every one then known, and throughout that time I often read that there is no fossil leading to the existing great apes, so it did not surprise me to learn from Dr. Filler that no fossil evidence for a quadrupedal higher primate has ever been found.
What did surprise me was the evidence that chimpanzees and gorillas have backbones designed for bipedalism, and about the chimpanzee I was able to check immediately in my copy of Dr. Daris Swindler’s ”Atlas of Primate Gross Anatomy.” Sure enough, the chimpanzee lumbar vertebrae, just like the human, is a close match for a corresponding fossil found in Africa and dated at 21 million years—all of them differing fundamentally from the vertebrae of a quadrupedal baboon.
Most paleontologists are not also spine surgeons, so it is no surprise that they have missed what was obvious to Dr. Filler and continue to believe and teach that human ancestors walked on four legs until they became upright as tree dwellers, and then invented true bipedalism after returning to the ground. It is a deep-seated belief, but that is all it is. There is no evidence for it whatever.

The Gnome in the Genome? Pondering Ketchum. Crypto Zoo News
Loren Coleman is unmoved from his original position regarding the Ketchum DNA study, which is "No data, no discovery" meaning he is less than impressed with the results. He also brings up an interesting point-that Ketchum references a significant event in the timeline of the Bigfoot species approximately 13,000 years ago which aligns with several events in history including the appearance of Homo floresiensis (hobbit) and the giant asteroid theory too. Coleman's also compiled a handy list of articles discussing both sides of the DNA debate...meanwhile, down in Chile aChupacabras Startles Suburban Couple during a backyard cookout. The mysterious red-eyed creature crouched in a tree and threw cherries at the couple until they sprayed it with a garden hose and it leaped over a fence and disappeared. Inexplicata calls the chupacabra a "spontaneous aggressive intruder" which we find pretty accurate for a creature that enjoys startling innocent families in their own backyards. In other startling news, this non-story gave us a chuckle as a New Jersey Alien Sea Monster goes viral. The Redditor who posted it says the photo was taken "somewhere in New Jersey", obviously neglecting to add "and then put into Photoshop". The faked photo itself is unimpressive but the speed at which it has gone viral with very little effort is. We expect it to make the rounds of the morning shows in about a week...
