The Deros & Richard Shaver The Vicar's Lamp
Today, R. Emmett Lee peels away the layers of Richard Shaver's creation and its possible basis in reality. Striking a tone reminiscent of Colavito'sThe Cult of Alien Gods, the crossroads of fact, fiction, and madness all contribute to the genesis of these cryptoterrestrials. More monsters stalk the shadows from the Tales Of Tetrapods across the North American continent. At issue here is the nature of such entities, whether degenerate reptilians or relict saurians, with Robin sharing the most notable examples. Rounding out our examination of our planet's hidden population, Jason Meyers poses the question Bigfoot: Truth Or Myth, giving voice to the believers and skeptics of Indiana's bigfoot infestation.

Puerto Rico: Chupacabras - The Night Siege Inexplicata
The bizarre beast that is terrorizing Puerto Rico is either growing bolder, careless or desperate or a mix of all three as it is discovered killing a goat and then fleeing by leaping over a 9 foot fence. In the process, it left behind both hair and blood on the concertina wire of the fencing which PRMUFON was able to obtain samples from. Inexplicata notes that this seems to be a different creature entirely from the one reported a few days ago that was hit by a car. That creature was winged with a dog-like head, while the fence jumper had no wings and ran on two legs. It seems almost as if an intergalactic circus train crashed and let loose a plethora of strange beasts...Ghost Theory has found a video of PRMUFON's investigation: Unknown Beast Kills Goat--Leaps over 9 Foot Fence.

Book Review: Legend Meets Truth: Bigfoot In Rhode Island by Dina Palazini
Terrific look at reports in the smallest state in the Union.
This book, which is rather short, less than 80 pages, really gives the reader a look at reports in an almost unheard-of spot in the U.S. for sightings, the smallest state in the U.S. There are several little-known sightings profiled in this book, as well as Dina's own report from 1984. One witness had a sighting of his own on the same road as the author, and there are special write-ups about Bigfoot by Carl Johnson, a paranormalist, about Bigfoot behaviors and characteristics. There are great color photos of areas where sightings have taken place in RI, including of the area where Dina had her sighting. Dina also shares some her theories on what Sasquatch is, and talks about her appearance on Finding Bigfoot in early 2012 of the video she shot of a possible Sasquatch a few years ago. I really enjoyed this book, full of great information on a state that until recently had not been counted as a state with any sightings of the mysterious bipeds. I give this book a 9 1/2 out of 10, only knocking off a half-point because it is too short.

Book Review: The Bigfoot Filmography by Dave Coleman
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful
5.0 out of 5 stars The DEFINITIVE Guide to All things Cine Du Sasquatch!!!!!!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Bigfoot Filmography: Fictional and Documentary Appearances in Film and Television (Paperback)
This book is quite large-both in size AND in content. The author really does a terrific job of describing each entry in the book in exquisite detail and even throws in little anecdotes that a lot of us 'Squatchers may not realize. He covers just about every BF movie and documentary made in the last 100 + years and it is obvious he has done his homework on each entry beyond just checking Wikipedia. From well-known entries in the field of film and documentary (The Legend of Boggy Creek, Sasquatch: The Legend of Bigfoot and The Mysterious Monsters) to the obscure (The Legend of McCullough's Mountain, Drawing Flies), he covers it all. Some of these entries have not been released theatrically yet, or even released to home video or DVD, which makes this book all the more valuable a guide to all Cine Du Squatch. I highly recommend this book, and hope there is a second edition to cover newer movies and documentaries (Letters From The Big Man and Finding Bigfoot come to mind). An absolute perfect 10 out of 10!!!!!! |

Cliff Barackman's review of Jeff Meldrum's Sasquatch Field Guide
Review by Cliff Barackman producer of Finding Bigfoot. "Finally, a concise and well-written field guide has been published to help the bigfoot field investigator document various types of evidence in an appropriate way. Dr. Jeff Meldrum has put together a field guide on heavy-duty, waterproof card stock that literally fits in your back pocket or backpack, adding little weight to those ounce-sensitive backpackers with an interest in collecting data from the backcountry. Seemingly thinking of everything, Dr. Meldrum has even included a ruler along the top margin of the Guide so the researcher will always have a scale item for any photos taken in the woods. The Sasquatch Field Guide not only helps researchers with identifying possible spoor left by bigfoots, but it also helps him or her reduce the possibility of misidentifying signs of other animals for those of sasquatches. Also included in the Field Guide are easy-to-understand directions on how to gather and store data in the field in preparation for future analysis. The Guide uses colors and diagrams making it easy to read and understand, which could be the difference between successfully gathering data and blowing it when under the pressure of dealing with the real thing out in the field. Sections in the Sasquatch Field Guide include information on visual identification, footprint identification, track casting, gathering footprint metrics, hair samples, scat samples, tree breaks, nests, cultural signs, stacked rocks, habitat and distribution, diet, vocalizations, possible origins, and taphonomy. This hefty brochure-style guide is densely-packed with valuable information that all field researchers should be intimately acquainted with."

The Mysterious Monsters

Angry hominids shoving their arms through windows and then standing just outside the door when you throw it open to ‘see what’s outside’ is a very common visual motif from this era. No kiddin’!

Book Review: The Beginner's Guide to Bigfoot Research by Joedy Cook
Terrific book for novices starting Bigfoot research.
This book is really well-written and gives the novice Sasquatch researcher a true clinic in what is needed in the field. The author tells us what casting materials to use, how to cast a track (courtesy of the American Bigfoot Society), What to put in your backpack, what food items to carry for yourself and for the Sasquatch, the best places to go for a possible encounter, what equipment to take into the field, how to dress appropriately and what to look for as to signs of the Sasquatch's presence. The book also gives investigation techniques, names for Bigfoot-type creatures around the world and websites and forums to peruse for further information, including a certain blog of an organization that has been around since 1994. I do highly recommend this book, especially for the researchers just starting out, and there also tips even for the veteran researcher. I give this one a solid 9 3/4 out of 10.
