Burchill goes to a Benjamin Radford explanation of how the idea of the chupacabras came about in Puerto Rico after one was allegedly seen and described by one Madelyn Tolentino in 1995. Radford's claims that Tolentino based the creature's description on the character of Sil in the motion picture Species in a column in Fortean Times.
