Pikes Peak’s Mystery Animals Cryptomundo
Loren Coleman uses an otter that escaped from Colorado Spring’s Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and has not been caught as a way of looking into how such escapees and weird animal stories can overlap into the realm of cryptozoology. Elsewhere, the headline of a story from Oak Harbor, Ohio, says it all: Mystery Cats: Still Elusive After All These Years, about the sighting by two village employees who witnessed what looked like a large black leopard that was definitely not a fat house cat.
Real Monsters: In Print Mania
Nick Redfern reviews the legendary Brad Steiger's 171st book or thereabouts, Real Monsters, Gruesome Critters, and Beasts from the Darkside. The expertly written book covers everything from otherworldly UFOs to blood sucking vampires, and from flesh eating zombies to ghostly love affairs, and is one of Steiger's best, according to Redfern. Elsewhere, a book on UFOlogy, cryptozoology, and the supernatural Down Under is featured in The Truth is Out There.
