Full of Action and Surprises!!!
The year is 1957, and Professor Henry Walton "Indiana" Jones (Harrison Ford) is kidnapped by Russian soldiers and their leader, Irina Spalko (Oscar Winner Cate Blanchett) to search for a magnetic box in Nevada which contains remains of alien bodies, which plays into the title of the film, referring to the Crystal Skulls. Indy and his colleague, Mac (Jim Broadbent) are taken into a secret warehouse, where Indy manages to find the crate containing the remains, but he manages to escape, but the Russians do escape with the remains. He then manages to get caught in a nuclear blast (which he survives, thanks to some quick thinking and a handy refrigerator). He is taken in and cleaned up by the U.S. Government and is fired from his Professorship at fictional Marshall College, so he embarks on a search for an old colleague, thanks to a chance meeting with a kid named Mutt Williams (Shia Lebouf), who turns out later to be Indy and Marion Ravenwood's son. His old colleague, Harold "Ox" Oxley (Oscar Winner John Hurt) holds the key to the mystery of the Crystal Skulls, but has gone missing in South America, where Indy and Mutt travel to and run into the Russians and Ox, as well as Marion (Karen Allen), and they embark on the quest to find the temple containing the answers to the whole mystery. Oh, and yes, the famous Wilhelm Scream is heard at least once in this movie. I would give this movie 4 out of 5 stars. Aliens may not be everyone's cup of tea when it comes to Indiana Jones, and I admit I was not entirely sold on it, but it is still a major thrill ride, and Harrison Ford still manages to make Indy a believable and viable action hero, nearly two decades after the last adventure.

DVD Review: WWE Hell In A Cell
Welcome to The Devil's Playground!!!
Brutal. Unforgiving. Satanic. Hell on Earth. These terms have been used to describe a structure, over 2 Tons of Steel, 16 Feet (now 35 feet) high(!) which has inspired terror and revulsion in many a WWE Superstar. Only 17 of these modified cage matches have taken place since 1997, and with good reason. This type of match ends or shortens careers. Ask Superstars such as Mick Foley (as Cactus Jack and Mankind), The Undertaker, Triple H (who is nearly undefeated in HIAC), Shawn Michaels, Vince and Shane McMahon, The Big Show, Brock Lesnar, Chris Jericho, Kevin Nash, Batista, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, The Rock, Rikishi, Randy Orton, Edge, Kane and several others. They have all been featured in this Hellish structure, and this three-disc DVD set highlights some of the most brutal ones to take place. Blood, broken bones and brutality, the three B's are the order of the day in the Devil's Playground. I would give this set a definite 5 out of 5 stars. A really excellent and action-packed DVD set. Get this one!!!

DVD Review: Halloween (1978) Restored Edition
An absolute masterpiece of Terror!!!
This DVD, released last year, is an absolutely terrific representation of John Carpenter's vision of terror in a suburban setting. The picture is nice and crisp, thanks to THX, the sound and video system developed by Lucasfilm, a great restoration of this true classic of horror. In the film, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is terrorized by the man who later is found out to be her brother, Michael Myers, an unstoppable juggernaut of a masked killer. Myers is pursued by his Doctor, Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasance in a very memorable role), who seems to encounter hints of Myers' evil as he chases him down to attempt to apprehend or kill him. 30 years later, this film still does not disappoint to frighten everyone. But hey, as Sheriff Leigh Brackett points out, "Everyone's entitled to one good scare." Plus there is a terrific behind the scenes featurette, along with cast bio and behind-the-scenes photos. Get this one if you can. 5 stars!!!

This was a pretty good show, with myself and Bill discussing different aspects of Halloween, as well as the latest Bigfoot and Cryptozoology news. Our prize book, The Hoopa Project, was given to Bluetracker, who called in and told us a really scary story (a true story at that) about a man without a face. We discussed scary movies as well.
