A Foyers shop and cafe owner and her husband reported seeing a shape in the water that "had a long neck which was too long to be that of a seal and it was black in appearance." It went under for a half minute or so and then came back up again. The sighting took place from the exact same vantage point where Tim Dinsdale shot the best footage of the legendary creature back in 1960. Speaking of which, here are The very weirdest theories about the Loch Ness Monster. Not a lake monster, but a Green Winged Weirdiewas seen over Lake Busjön in Sweden, according to an 1850 report dug up by Loren Coleman. Finally, the Professor does more peeking at Ivan's SITU files in part eight of Meaningless Reports Of Sea Monsters.

The Bigfoot Field Reporter ™: Word of the day-Harrowing
Lon Strickler presents a recent email in which the correspondent tells of an encounter her brother and his wife had with what she thinks could be the famous creature from the motion picture "The Legend of Boggy Creek." The movie monster, known as the Fouke Monster or the Boggy Creek Monster, was famous for its alleged forays around an area just 15 miles from where the couple claim to have encountered a huge, hairy biped with "a horrific stench" on May 5, 2011. Strickler makes sure you know about the story of the Fouke Monster, including two news clippings and information about another cryptid from the nearby Whitewater River Monster Refuge, for which this sea-serpent-like creature contributed its name. Elsewhere, Nick Redfern provides a report gathered from an eyewitness by Pennsylvania researcher and author Stan Gordon in which a woman living not far from Sharpsburg, PA, near the Allegheny River, tells of her observations of an unknown animal: Weird Creature Report. And Redfern has his own tale to tell about a Paradise, TX, rancher named Walter, the horrific death of one of Walter's cattle and the possibility occultists working clandestinely in Walter's fields had conjured an otherworldly horror into being, as set forth in Werewolves on the Prowl. Meanwhile, Bruce Duensing picks up where he left off in Part 1 of a study of the possibility UFOs are intelligent airborne organisms with an affinity for certain geomagnetic conditions, as explained in Part Two of Preliminary Conclusions and Strong Suspicions.

Dale Drinnon offers reports and some cave art assembled by the Australian team of Rex and Heather Gilroy to show all the reports of the Loch Ness monster don't come from Scotland. The Gilroys have two eyewitness reports of a 40-foot plesiosaur-type creature in the Hawkesbury River in 1979. Drinnon has reports on two other water-dwelling creatures, as well, pointing out the unfortunate naming of Ponik of Pehenegamook (Mocking Lake)and spotlighting a hodgepodge of other aquatic creatures, with images, inLake Monster Potpourri. Meanwhile, another cryptozoological team presents another mystery as Mark A. Hall and Loren Coleman present a selection from their book True Giants: Is Gigantopithecus Still Alive. The co-authors show the evidence for a relationship between giants and humans and the schism that drove giants into remote regions of the world, hiding from mankind. Elsewhere, guest author Donald Gruber, EdD, shares events of a camping trip to Colorado's Cub Lake in 1966 with Was It Bigfoot? And some controversial video that sparked some biting commentary has the videographer responding in Kryder Bigfoot Video: Update, including the disputed footage.

Essay: In Search of Sasquatch | VIA Magazine

Wednesday, June 29, 2011

There's a lot going on in the search for Bigfoot with Craig Woolheater posting two stories at Cryptomundo about a possible encounter between the U. S. Border Patrol and a Sasquatch found in this report and a corroboration of that report - but not of the claim itself - in an update. But of even more interest are two reports of a hunter's alleged encounter with three Bigfoots that begin with a second person's account of how the hunter had shot two of the creatures and in the update of that report that starts off our post. Details have been a bit confused but may be laid out in a more understandable form in Woolheater's latest post. Will there be a DNA test of flesh recovered from the scene of the alleged Bigfoot shooting? Another alleged Bigfoot shooting is making the news today, but it's a filmed episode that supposedly shows one of the big hairy guys in the background, as shown in Javier Ortega's takedown of the effort called New Orleans City Park Bigfoot Video: Hoax! There's more Bigfoot information coming out of the Iberian Peninsula today, too, as Scott Corrales translates Javier Resines' report Spain: Bigfoot in the Aragonese Pyrenees, Part II. Meanwhile, Loren Coleman is on the road in the cryptomobile trekking to places of interest to cryptozoology fans, and one of the spots where cryptozoology, UFOlogy and other paranormal studies seem to have melded is in Pennsylvania, as he explains, with images, in High Strangeness in Fayette County.
