2 Shows Tomorrow
In the continuation of a report that began in his February, 2010, "Reality Checking" column as Christmas Eve Abduction in DeKalb County, Tennessee and continued in the March issue in Christmas Eve Abduction in Dekalb County, Tennessee?, Brent Raynes presents more of the strange story of GP, his daughter Jenny, and their history of alien abduction. Were GP and Jenny part of an alien hybrid breeding program? GP and Jenny are far from being the only people reporting continuing contact with non-humans with a difficult to understand agenda, as Lon Strickler reports, with images, in The Eckhart Encounters - Further Evidence. What are the beings that have continually intruded into the lives of David Eckhart and his family? Images of "writing" Eckhart supplied from his encounters come up again in Strickler's follow-up post Where is the Extraterrestrial 'Rosetta Stone'? With images.

Review MNBRT 4-16-10

Did Russian villagers capture a female Bigfoot-type creature and bring her to live in the Abkhazian village of Tkhina? Did the 6'6" hairy female deliver half-human babies fathered by the men of the village? Did Russian researchers disinter the remains of the female creature 35 years ago? Here is part of the story of Zana, supposedly a Bigfoot-type creature. With a link to more of the claims of the life and times of a female Russian Bigfoot in captivity. Also, the author of Man-Monkey and There's Something in the Woods..., as well as several other books on various subjects of High Strangeness, seats himself in front of the microphone for Interview: Cryptozoologist Nick Redfern. Elsewhere, Dale Drinnon matches some images of a dead sea creature found in 1983 with other reports from earlier in the last century in Gambo and Ambon; Lindsay Selby continues to try to bring aquatic cryptids up from the depths in Loch Treig Monster Tales; and Richard Muirhead looks into some old accounts to write Some Notes on the Mermaid Part One. Meanwhile, the finding of a new creature anxious to hang a fang in whatever wanders into its bailiwick is noted, with photo, in Tyrannobdella rex: Giant Leech is 'World's Smallest T Rex'. Should one plug one's nostrils when trekking the jungles of the Upper Amazon?

Loren Coleman's Inbox is overflowing with email about a skull that Coleman says has been sitting in the garage of a man in Maine for fifteen years. The skull supposedly leaks some kind of fluids. Coleman doesn't show much interest in the story. Why not? The link to more information on the find, including some video is here. Elsewhere, there's a lot of information about the legendary creature of Africa that many have theorized is a remnant sauropod in More Living Dinosaurs; the Mokele Mbembe, which takes part of its information from the Loren Coleman and Patrick Huyghe book Field Guide to Lake Monsters. Review: HBM's Crypto-Corner 4-14-10
Tulpas Cryptomundo
Loren Coleman and Jerome Clark brought the Eastern mystical conception of tulpas into the lingo of paranormal investigators with two books from the early 1970s, recently republished as a two-in-one volume entitled The Unidentified & Creatures of the Outer Edge from Anomalist Books. A recent interview of Nick Redfern sparks Coleman to comment on the origins of the tulpas concept, its incorporation into the cryptozoological nomenclature and how he had discarded the notion of the tulpas explanation for some observations. With images. Elsewhere, no claims of tulpas were ever mentioned for the incident Richard Freeman describes in The Monster of Pembroke Dock, nor for what Mike Dash contemplates - although Freeman's monster might fit right in - with Of Giant Eels. Meanwhile, one of the monsters of yore (and a new movie) needs a replacement, and you're invited to vote on one of several candidates at Replace the Kraken! 7 Real Krakens for the 21st Century. With images and videos, but no video of the Kraken from "Clash of the Titans."

Should Researchers expose a Hoax...
Loren Coleman makes note of a Michigan claim of a sighting of what newscasters dubbed a chupacabra (without the "s"), and tries to separate the curious canid, hairless raccoon and other such animals from the true chupacabras supposedly first reported from Puerto Rico and other Caribbean locales. Coleman also reveals the reason for a reference to Jennifer Lopez, among several images. Elsewhere, Lindsay Selby continues to expound on the various reports and legends of strange creatures from the lakes, rivers and oceans of the world, such as The Creature of Bynoe Harbour. Jason Whittle, backed up by the excellent artwork of Will Jacques and many photographs, interviews author Nick Redfern on a variety of subjects considered to be part and parcel of what we call high strangeness. Here Redfern gives his interpretation of the Bigfoot/Sasquatch question, including the possibility the Tulpas answer might be the right one; reveals what he thinks of the preoccupation with Roswell in considering the UFO phenomenon, including whether UFO investigators might be in danger from their research encroaching on government secrets and talks about the books he has written and four new ones due out this year. The interview is in transcript form. Meanwhile there's a bonus added to the latest downloadable podcast as Tim Binnall presents an interview with two of the heavy hitters in UFOlogy and chats with a gentleman who has just released his first book. It's all in BoA Audio: Season V - Bill & Nancy Birnes/Micah A. Hanks. The Birneses chat about "UFO Hunters" and UFO Magazine, as well as their entrance into UFOlogy and more, and Micah A. Hanks talks about his new book Magic, Mysticism & the Molecule. Enjoy!

Egede Sea Serpent Sighting 1734 Cryptozoology Online
Dale Drinnon matches a classic drawing of a sea serpent reportedly sighted during a voyage to Greenland in 1734. Drinnon points out similarities between the drawing and photos of gray whales as they hurl themselves out of the water. While the North Atlantic gray whales are now extinct, at the time of the sighting they were still relatively plentiful. Meanwhile, Jon Downes goes in search of the origins of a cryptid creature's name as he reproduces his column From the Latest Paranormal Magazine: What's in a Name?
