Some questions from Abe Del Rio regarding the DNA study from Dr. Melba Ketchum
I'm not sure if any 1 has touched on this, Seeing that American scientist rejected the paper in peer review does this mean that American scientist closed the door on the possibality of Bigfoot being real? And therefor protection will not be granted for them? So lets say that Russia & thir scientists review the paper & accept it, Then what does that mean? Does it have any meaning here in the States? Can protection be passed here in the States for Bigfoot if Russian scientist agree with her paper or does it mean that Russia can start protection for them over there? Again if Russian scientist deem her paper legit and start a protection program for Bigfoot can America do the same based on Russian scientist or does it have to be American scientist that agree with her paper in order to have protection here in the States for the forest friends?

Dr. Melba Ketchum's Bigfoot DNA Paper Has Been REJECTED Bigfoot Evidence
We are not surprised at this news, although still a bit disappointed because even with our doubts (Mentioning angels? Really?), we held out hope that there was a grain of truth in that study and that truth would prevail. No such luck but Ketchum plans to resubmit to a Russian scientific journal next. In the meantime, Cryptomundo attempts to shed some light as to Why Igor Leaked Ketchum Bigfoot DNA Study Results before the paper was even published. His explanation is that he simply could not wait any longer to reveal to the public the truth about Bigfoot, after having searched for the truth himself for decades. It's not clear whether the premature announcement had anything to do with the study's rejection.

BIGFOOT As A Human/Ape Hybrid: What's That All About? The Big Study
The Professor interjects his much-appreciated 2 cents into the Bigfoot DNA debate and counters Melba Ketchum's DNA study with some good, old-fashioned science facts. He dissects the process of hybridization itself and says that if the data in the study is legitimate, it would depend greatly on which side of Neanderthal Bigfoot's DNA resides in order to make the call of human/Bigfoot hybrid and on what scale. He is also skeptical of the study's supposed 100 samples and wonders how dependable this evidence is. Like the rest of us, The Professor is shaking his head in disbelief and...waiting...Nick Redfern reminds us that there is more to the world of Bigfoot than the Ketchum study and tells us about an upcoming A Bigfoot Anniversary-- the first reported encounter of the Wildman of Orford in Britain. Review: Finding Bigfoot 12-2-12
This episode took place in the high Sierras, where the team was investigating a video taken by backpackers of an area where there was no Sasquatch seen, but it may have possibly been heard. There is a sound on the video which sounds like some sort of howling noise, but it could be a coyote, possibly. Ranae was the only one who was not too sure it was a 'Squatch, and I think Cliff left it up in the air. They then split into two teams, with Bobo and Matt on one end, Ranae and Cliff on the other. Matt got a manlike shape on his thermal, but it turned out to be Cliff. They heard some interesting sounds, but nothing definitive. Matt decided to stay in the area alone, so he did an investigation on his own while the other three team members conducted a town hall meeting in a local town. They interviewed several witnesses, including a woman who said she saw a 'Squatch look in on her through a window which sits pretty high off the ground. Even Ranae, the token skeptic of the team, could not explain the lady's sighting. Another witness, who said it was possible a Sasquatch looked into his vehicle, showed photos of what appeared to be something pressing its face against a vehicle window. Ranae thought it was probably a bear or cougar, while Bobo thought it might have been a Sasquatch and Cliff was unsure and called it ambigious at best. This same witness also said he saw a Sasquatch up on a high ridge, which Ranae thought might have been a case of mistaken identity. In their second night operations, they tried a new tactic-an air raid siren to try to attract something to investigate or perhaps respond to the siren. This was tried, with the results...well, I will not spoil it. On a scale from 1-10, this episode was a pretty solid 6. Next week, the team heads to Arizona. It airs of course on Animal Planet, 10:00 EST/9:00 Central. Check local listings for time and channel.

Bigfoot, Human, Ape, and DNA Cryptomundo
Now that the DNA results are out...sort of...the argument over Melba Ketchum's statements have now moved to another level--whether or not Bigfoot is an ape. Loren Coleman sorts through the debate and adds his thoughts. We agree with Matt Moneymaker on this particular discussion when he reminds us of the most important fact at the center of all of this--proving that Bigfoot exists at all. The fallout still continues over Ketchum's study and Nadia Moore, a scientist at U.C. Davis, remains unimpressed with the entire affair and asks, Has Dr Ketchum Sabotaged her own study with the unprofessional nature of her methods and points out that a genuine study would not have been announced via Facebook and Twitter, nor would it have been rejected several times by peer-reviewed journals. It most definitely would not contain references to "angels, nephilim, or constitutional rights," Moore says. Yet another big name in Bigfoot research, David Paulides, author of Missing 411 gives his opinion of the Ketchum study, along with J.C. Johnson in an Interview with David Paulides and J.C. Johnson with Paracast. J.C. Johnson seems impressed with the results because, he says, the results are corroborated and consistent across many different samples in a double-blind study. He also refers to the longstanding Native American legends of women being kidnapped by "furry people" and returning with possible hybrid children. Meanwhile, in other cryptozoology news (and there was some, believe it or not), Darren Nash is unimpressed with the Science Channel's Alien Mummies (Alien Investigations) in the UK) that investigates the origins of several "monsters," including the infamous Montauk Monster which turned out to be a dead raccoon. Every one of these unidentified monsters have completely reasonable explanations, he states, and none of them involve mad scientist experiments gone horribly wrong: Alien Investigations and the Montauk Monster .
59 Years Ago Today...
The late Rene Dahinden began his Sasquatch interest and research. He was working for a dairy farmer in Alberta, Canada, when he and the the farmer and the farmer's family were listening to the CBC radio news. A report came on which said that the Daily Mail newspaper in London was sponsoring a search for the Yeti in the Himalayas. Rene turned to his boss and basically said, "Wouldn't it be something to go on a search like this?" His boss said, "Hell, you don't have to go that far, they got something like it over in British Columbia." Rene described his reaction as someone basically "turning a switch." That is what prompted him on his over four-decade search for the Sasquatch. I salute Rene Dahinden today and always.

Vermont Trail Cam Photo Desconstructed Ghost Theory

Sasquatch: Does DNA Say It’s Human? Yakima Herald
A newspaper reporter finally talks to Melba Ketchum. It seems her study has sequenced “three complete Sasquatch nuclear genomes” and determined the species is a human hybrid, “the result of males of an unknown hominin species crossing with female Homo sapiens.” Her 50-page manuscript containing the research and DNA findings is still in peer review at a scientific journal, but it's publication is still likely weeks away apparently. Nothing new really, but it's nice to hear this from outside the Bigfoot community echo chamber. Dr. Jeff Meldrum [also] Speaks Out Concerning Ketchum's Study. Though he found the press release "frankly premature and unprofessional given the lack of any published reviewed results," he still recommends a wait a see attitude. The critics are chomping at the bit, of course, including Ben Radford who suggests in'Bigfoot' Is Part Huuman, DNA Study Claims that the DNA used by Ketchum may have been contaminated by the people who collected and handled the specimens.
