Nick Redfern has investigated the legendary el Chupacabras on the island of Puerto Rico, where the tales of the creature supposedly originated. And Redfern reveals a little-known theory of the creature in this report. Is the "Goatsucker" a product of U. S. military experimentation? But the Chupacabras isn't the only cryptid creeping around the Caribbean island, as Redfern shows in An Island of Monsters. Elsewhere, last night's online broadcast of Beyond the Edge Radio featured Wisconsin resident Tina Caskey who followed up with a written account of her brush with the unknown seen in Chilling Cryptid Encounter - Near Dyer Lake, Wisconsin. Elsewhere, Richard Freeman shares a report that claims Yeti Sighted at Zaluk, Sikkim in 2004, and Dr. Karl Shuker researches an encounter between the King of the Apes and an East African cryptid, with images, in Tarzan and the Nandi Bear.

Society for the Investigation of The Unexplained: SITU The Big Study
The Professor has gotten his hands on the voluminous files from the now-defunct Society for the Investigation of The Unexplained (SITU) and lays out the manner in which his possession of the treasure trove came about. In the Comments section of his post, The Professor offers to look into reader Richard's request for information regarding Unidentified Submerged Objects from the files of the legendary founder of SITU, Ivan T. Sanderson, and does so quite quickly, displaying very readable pages from Sanderson's notebooks in SITU, Sanderson, & USOs: A Very Small Peek at the Files. From freshwater incidents to maritime sightings, Sanderson collected a great deal of information on an under-reported phenomenon. Now, if The Professor can find room for the APRO collection.
Researching "Bownessie" BARSOC
The creature said by many to live in England's Lake Windermere has a history quite a bit longer than most suspect, and Hayley Stevens goes back to the earliest reports of the creature. Stevens says she personally traced down reports of the creature known as "Bownessie" to 1961, but acknowledges there are apparently reports from as early as the 1950s. With images. Could just one creature live so long? Elsewhere, Micah Hanks brings together evidence of a bipedal man-beast from the tropics - particularly from Vietnam - in Rock Apes and Wild Men: Mad Monkeys on the Attack! Meanwhile, Dr. Karl Shuker presents the case for a creature that could stand on two legs and fly with two wings in Ahead by a Nose? Or a Head with a (Very Long) Nose? Here's the Letayuschiy Chelovek - Far-eastern Russia's Man-Bat, with images. And Loren Coleman takes you to the scene of one of the most famous of all cryptid encounters, with images and video, in Mothman's TNT Site Remains Mysterious.
I found these tracks in the forests of Vancouver Island.
