The Strangest Felines Scotsman
From Scotland comes Peter Ross' story of Mark Fraser, "who has spent his adult life searching for some particular beasts - black panther-like creatures which he believes are roaming Scotland." Five big cat investigators research the prevalence, hunting grounds and characteristics of the forty large black cats believed to be slinking through the heather and gorse of the highlands, or making their way into some towns. No Answers Yet for Calf Mutilations Near San Luis The Pueblo Chieftain
New cattle mutilation reports from San Luis, CO, have prompted Colorado Mutual UFO Network investigator Chuck Zukowski, who investigated other mutilations earlier this year in other San Luis Valley locations, as well as last year's mutilation reports near Trinidad, CO, to visit the scene. Local Law enforcement agents have been unable to find any signs of human or animal attacks in the latest case, "(b)ut in the San Luis Valley, where a mutilated horse maintains celebrity status four decades after its death and a UFO watchtower graces the roadside near Hooper, some may look upward for an explanation of the incidents."

A Lake Is a Lake Is a Lake...Isn't It? ShukerNature
Questions concerning the identity of a Tibetan lake reportedly filled with monsters leads Dr. Karl Shuker to examine the changing names of some lakes, especially those lakes within the confines of mainland China. One such lake in the northwestern Xinjiang Autonomous Region was previously referred to as Lake Hanas, but a new appellation has been bestowed on that body of water. Now it's referred to as Lake Kanasi. In 1985, however, when it was still Lake Hanas, imminent Chinese biologist Professor Xiang Lihao and a group of students observed some monstrous salmon-like fish in the lake that they say were at least 33-feet long. The Book Behind the Sewer-Alligator Legend The New York Times
The persistent urban legend of giant alligators populating the sewers beneath the streets of New York City comes full circle in this examination of how the story came about and grew legs that still propel it through some modern editions. The book that seems to have given the most impetus to the story was Robert Daley's The World Beneath the City, published in 1959, in which Daley talked with the former superintendent of the Big Apple's sewers, Teddy May. May said he didn't believe his workers claims of alligators occupying their workspace and descended into the depths to prove them wrong. However, according to what he told Daley, he did find quite a few small alligators cruising the polluted waters and set about getting rid of them. Daley duly reported May's words in his book, and an urban legend was born. So, were there ever any alligators of large enough size to present a danger in the sewers of New York City? New Look of The Little Lady of Flores Cryptomundo
Dubbed "The Little Lady of Flores" by the scientific team that uncovered her bones in a cave on the Indonesian island of Flores, the diminutive creature otherwise known as LB1 has received a full-body reconstruction by renowned Parisian paleoartist Elizabeth Daynes. Stayton Bonner visited the recent Ninth Annual Texas Bigfoot Conference, hosted by the Texas Bigfoot Research Conservancy. Bonner talked with many attendees and presents much of their stance regarding the search for the most elusive cryptid of all. Bigfoot research celebrities, such as Bob Gimlin of the Patterson/Gimlin 1967 Brushy Creek Bigfoot film fame and Smokey Crabtree of The Legend of Boggy Creek, as well as award-winning naturalist/author Peter Mathiessen and high strangeness author Nick Redfern were in attendance. Also in attendance were many vendors, including one selling the "Sasqwatch," a timepiece featuring a plastic of a Bigfoot footprint, an example of which you'll find on the unfamiliar arm that accompanies a familiar face at Nick Redfern's "There's Something in the Woods". 78-year-old Russ Sittloh of Madeira Beach, FL, says a "serpent-like" creature "at least 20 feet long" is occupying the canal behind his home. And he has photos and video to prove the creature's existence. Dubbed "Normandy Nessy" by Sittloh in honor of the road he lives on, the creature has been spotted six times. With photos and video. A New York Monster Mania
Nick Redfern has heard lots of weird tales, but this one may take the cake. Here is the story of Barry who claims to have seen a most unexpected creature roaming around the fringes of New York’s Central Park! It was the summer of 1997 when he spotted a creature that was man-like in shape, covered in rusty color hair--and little more than three-feet in height. The diminutive man-beast charged across Barry's path about twenty feet away, halted for a couple of seconds to stare intently into Barry's eyes, and then headed off rapidly beneath a small bridge inside the perimeter of the park. Cryptids in Suburbia – Part 1 The Paranomalist
The idea of a Garden State Sasquatch, living in the highly populated northeastern part of the NJ, only a few miles outside of New York City, seems preposterous. But reports of the creature do occur here. In fact, reports of strange creatures sighted in highly populated suburban and urban areas continue to pour in unabated from developed nations across the globe. Should we dismiss them all as hoaxes or misidentifications? A look at big cats and big bird reports. A Missouri Bigfoot From the Shadows
The first of a two-part story of Bigfoot encounters in Southeast Missouri, where they are not uncommon. After hearing a "crunch, crunch, then limbs started breaking and falling," Ken Mattheis saw a "large black shadow" near his parent's farmhouse one January. His mother later saw "a large black shadow" stand up and walk off into the woods. Ken went to the spot the next day and found large footprints in the grass. The heel of the foot had pressed deeper than the rest, the curve of the arch almost invisible. Elsewhere, 'Destination: Truth' Team Hits Yeti Paydirt Again.
A man from Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, who wishes to remain anonymous, says he may have caught images of Bigfoot with his flip-cam while hiking the Appalachian Trail last month. And in another time and another place, the story of a huge serpent, "seventy to eighty-feet long and so thick that it too a dozen men to encircle it," in Chinese Monster Tales Part Two.

Reviews: Blog Talk Radio Bigfoot Shows 11/1-11/8-09/Sasquatch Watch Radio Tonight...
Last Sunday's Nite Callers Radio was pretty terrific, with guest Jaime Avalos, who discussed his research in the mountains of California and the tracks he has found in those areas, as well as his sighting and vocalizations heard. I called in and asked Jaime some questions about footprints he found with broken toes or deformed toes and broken bones, and he said he had found some and casted them. I also discussed the recent Monsterquest Abominable Snowman episode as well as other recent happenings.

Last Monday's Sasquatch Watch Radio was great too, with Billy and Mike's guest Michael Worth, who discussed his projects and movies he has worked on, including new upcoming projects he is involved with for SyFy channel. Bill and I called in and asked about his recent projects, as well as his possible project on a historical Sasquatch account, mainly the Albert Ostman story. Tonight, Billy and Mike have something planned, don't know what, but it begins at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central.

On The Grey Area, two researchers, Toby Tollman and someone whose name escapes me at the moment were on the show, discussing their research and their findings. Melissa and Monica return on November 18th with their guest "The Yammer" Tom Yamarone, 9:00 EST/8:00 Central.

Larry Battson's Wild World was EXCELLENT, with guests John Green and Bob Gimlin, who discussed the P/G Film as they remembered it, as well as inserting some humor into it, and they did address quite well the claims of M.K. Davis and the Massacre Conspiracy. There were no callers, but it was still THE BEST show of 2009. I loved it.
