Lon Strickler brings together some interesting reports of Bigfoot bodies being pulled from the devastation caused by the eruption of Mt. St. Helens in Washington State on May 18, 1980. According to unsubstantiated but continuing commentary by various Bigfoot researchers, there is anecdotal reference to government agencies recovering the bodies of some Bigfoot among the bodies of other animals killed when the mountain erupted. Is the U. S. government interested in Sasquatch/Bigfoot?
In one of the most in depth accounts of the chupacabras phenomenon ever presented, Scott Corrales of the Hispanic Institute of UFOlogy gives the history of a cryptid that may have had its origins in Puerto Rico, although Corrales points out that there were similar savage attacks by unidentified creatures prior to Puerto Rico's chupacabras explosion in 1995. Corrales follows the legend of "The Goatsucker" as it makes its way to Mexico, Central and South America, Spain, Portugal and the United States. Since Corrales first assembled his information about this mystery beast, has anyone come forward with an identification for the chupacabras? Elsewhere in today's cryptid chronicles, Brent Swancer offers Japanese Giant Fish, Part 2 - The Dragon Fish, and Loren Coleman presents some Bigfoot evidence in Memorial Day Footage + 14 Years.
A trailcam captured an image in an area of New Zealand known as Fiordland. In 1910, some North American moose were released into the New Zealand wild, but one has not been spotted since 1952. Is the animal in the captured photo a juvenile moose? Elsewhere, more imported animals may be on the loose, this time in England's Shropshire Forest, and the news isn't being celebrated. In fact, columnist Mark Fletcher reveals he should apologize for speaking out about the existence of the animals in question anywhere in the United Kingdom, despite having gathered evidence he was wrong in his claims, as he explains in Leopards and Other Big Cats ARE on the Loose in Britain - Just Don't Tell a Soul. Also, today, there's a short bio on a dedicated Sasquatch searcher in Central Illinois Man on Watch for Bigfoot.

In a fabled corner of Wales, a mysterious and never identified beast savaged a huge number of sheep between September and December of 1988. Some said it was a large black cat, but no prints were ever found. What was found led those around the oldest town in the middle of Wales to think a giant snake of some kind was emerging at night from the River Wye. Much of the slaughter occurred at the Bodalog Farm, as Nick Redfern reveals in this short article. What was this mystery beast that struck fear into the hearts of the citizenry and savaged the sheep near the Welsh town of Rhayader? Elsewhere, Ken Hulsey explains how he became a member of the staff at Cryptomundo, and the explanation includes a side trip to the Grand Canyon that culminated in what he calls My Bigfoot Encounter - Highway 180 - Arizona. Elsewhere at Cryptomundo, another newcomer, Brent Swancer, covers another mystery animal in Japanese Giant Fish, Part 1 - The Namitarou; and Cryptomundo stalwart Loren Coleman asks Can You See the Yeti in This Video?.

Then readers get to comment: suburban bushwacker says, "Strangely he has a point, strangely." Sharkfin comments, "I agree, this would probably stop the harassment by beef jerky eating pranksters." MLH wrote, "All mythological creatures should demand equal rights." And Pacific Hunter, referring to the letter writer, says, "This guy is brilliant, maybe he can run for President in the next election." Richard Muirhead reviews an account from a 1960 edition of Frontier Times that tells of a 1936 expedition across the Great Salt Lake Desert of Utah, tracing the trail of the ill-fated Donner Party in 1850. Dr. Walter M. Stookey was the man who traced the Donner trail, and what he found makes for some surprising conclusions. While Dr. Stookey's retracing of the trail took place 86 years after the Donner's passed by, there was much evidence of the Donner Party's trek, including discarded trunks and clothing, wagon parts and the skeletal remains of oxen. But what was most surprising was the discovery of giant bird nests, an astonishing discovery that still hasn't been explained. Elsewhere, a Texas town is up in arms after reports of an out-of-place African big cat, as seen in Reports of Lion Loose in Marshall, Residents React. Meanwhile, Scott Bowen speaks with the head of the International Cryptozoology Museum, one of the world's foremost cryptozoologists, in Interview: Cryptozoologist Loren Coleman, Part 1. With image.
