Dale Drinnon responds to Raheel Mugahl's posting of "Lesser-known African Cryptids," in which Mugahl related the description of the Ngoima, the native name for the "Monkey Eating Eagle," described by visiting French political commissioner Andre Mouelle early last century. Given Mouelle's description did not match the description of the real bird that feasts on monkeys, what bird did he see? And, in Things With Wings In Africa #2: Kongamato, Drinnon explains why he thinks cryptozoologists "got off on the wrong foot" by describing the native reports of the Kongamato as a living Pterosaur. Is the Kongamato actually a stingray? Meanwhile, the large compendium of lore about Florida's version of Sasquatch has gained more entries thanks to the efforts of the author of Florida's Unexpected Wildlife, Michael Newton, listed in Skunk Ape Update. Elsewhere, a programming note prepares Sasquatch afficionados for a television premiere May 15, 2011, 8 p.m. ET, as revealed in Ape? Human? Hoax? Or Something Else?: Bigfoot: The Definitive Guide Premieres May 15 on The Discovery Channel.
