The Allendale Wolf Beachcombing's Bizarre History Blog
Using a great deal of quoted material from the late Charles Fort, Dr. Beachcombing attempts to show the last wolf in England (not Ireland or Scotland!) breathed its last in 1905, not, as generally supposed, in the reign of Henry VII. But there's more to the tale, as pointed out by Fort in his book Lo! and by Dr. Beachcombing in this bit of Fortean and cryptozoological history. Dr. Beachcombing gleans more from the tales of lupine lore in a post that depends on the writings of a "Greek antiquarian," as seen in The Werewolf of Temesa. Meanwhile, Dr. Karl Shuker steps outside the bounds of natural history for his "examination of one of the world's most mysterious, enigmatic localities," as seen, with images, in Stone Giants, Man-Birds, and Long-Eared Ghosts.
