Billy Cox makes note of a unique holiday gift in conjunction with recent reports of cattle mutilations in Colorado. He also shares a video that is reputed to show a cow being levitated into a UFO. Meanwhile, Joseph Capp is none too pleased with the first efforts of the supposedly quick-reaction investigatory team from the Mutual UFO Network, as he shows in MUFON's 600 lb Gorilla: Common Sense. With Men-in-Black video.

Christmas Creatures ShukerNature
Dr. Karl Shuker relates the connections between many of Nature's creatures and Christmas, from "colly birds" to kangaroos, perhaps correcting some Christmas misconceptions along the way. Elsewhere, Loren Coleman promises to update this feature frequently, so make plans to go back daily until New Years for Top 2009 Lists of Cryptozoology Interest. Meanwhile, there are some interesting answers to equally interesting inquiries in Oll Lewis: 5 Questions on...Cryptozoology - Ian Simmons.
An archived news account of a fantastic encounter along the seashore near Tacoma, WA, is revived. The alleged encounter is supposed to have taken place in July of 1893 when several men on a fishing trip pitched camp near some surveyors. As a group the two camps then faced a monstrous form from the sea that possessed the ability to hurl "electrified water" at the men. Did the men witness a creature from the deep, or was their fear brought to the surface by some underwater vessel? That tale was no doubt included in the top tales of unexplained creatures for 1893, but what about such anomalous creatures for the year that's quickly slipping away? Loren Coleman has that covered with The Top Ten Cryptozoology Stories of 2009. With images.

In today's maverick science offerings: Consensus astronomers, having observed red giant stars exhibiting unexplained variations in luminosity, say "all possible explanations...fail." That's not so, says Mel Acheson. According to Acheson, consensus astronomers are refusing to listen to explanations from those who dissent with the consensus, such as the Electric Universe theorists. Can electric currents in space explain the behavior of red giant stars that is anomalous to consensus astronomers? Elsewhere, the now ubiquitous laser will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year, and scientists are hard at work to give the extremely useful tool another job that might have significance for everyone, as explained in Miracle Light: Can Lasers Solve the Energy Crisis? Meanwhile, much has been made of the recent story of satellite images revealing an ancient city submerged in the Caribbean Sea, prompting the original source of the news report to say Herald de Paris Makes "Atlantis" Claims? Look Again.

Upcoming Episodes

12/28/2009 8:00 PM - Sasquatch Watch Radio: Todd Standing of Sylvanic

Residents of Oyster Creek, TX, near Houston, are keeping a wary eye out for a large feline witnesses say is a tiger. A handful of reports have Brazoria County law officers on the alert for the presence of what could be a dangerous predator. Officers say no one in the area has a permit to keep such animals, making the origin of the big cat, if it exists, a mystery. Elsewhere, as the end of the year rolls around, we can expect a plethora of postings listing "The Best of 2009" in different categories, such as the category selected today by Loren Coleman at Cryptomundo: Top Ten Coelacanth Bulletins of 2009. With multiple images.
