A footprint of an unidentified animal found in Janikow, Poland. A bear print? Bears don't live in this part of Poland. The size of the print suggests a large cat species. Locals think it may belong to the "czarna Ĺ‚apa" (black paw), a local legend about a black beast that lives in the woods and devours kids.

A ranch owner watched a black mountain lion for more than 10 minutes in the foothills near Dublin in Alameda County, California. This was the longest eyewitness account of a black mountain lion reported by a wildlife expert in 20 years. The next day, another one was seen by an engineer in the nearby San Ramon hills. The pelt of a black mountain lion has never been recovered by officials. Elsewhere, a Cryptomundo correspondent shares a report on Riverside’s Melanistic Panther.
