Nick Redfern has donned his cryptozoologist threads to report on a tale passed along by someone who wishes to remain anonymous, a requirement Redfern says makes investigating the tale nearly impossible. That's why he falls back on the device of relating the tale in hopes someone else who made the same observation as the original storyteller, and doesn't require anonymity, will come forward. Did mysterious eel-like creatures inhabit the canals of Birmingham, England, in the late 1970s or early 1980s? Were these mystery creatures snatching pet rabbits? Meanwhile, Darren Naish at Tetrapod Zoology examines recent remains washed ashore in the United Kingdom in his report England 'Does a Montauk'.

Lausanne, Switzerland's Musee Cantonal de Zoologie, the museum that displays the archives and collections of famed cryptozoologist Bernard Heuvelmans, has released a new journal dedicated to cryptozoology.
