Birds common to such places as China, California and Mexico are turning up in the British Isles as the ice caps of the North Pole are diminishing and no longer blocking their way. Is this phenomenon a precursor to further out-of-place sightings of all sorts of air and sea life as the planet grows warmer? As temperatures grow warmer, biologists have turned to the careful records of Henry David Thoreau, drawn up in the 19th century, as detailed in "Walden", Evolution and Climate Change. Isn't it odd how plants and animals quickly adapt to the changing temperatures as though they have a species memory of temperature changes that have occurred before?
