Then, on HBM's Crypto-Corner, Bill and I welcome Monsterquest producer Doug Hajicek, 9:30 EST/8:30 Central. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/HBMs-Crypto-Corner And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
Loren Coleman has scored a coup with the donation of a period piece that mirrors an item once used in a historical event from the Bigfoot research timeline. The International Cryptozoology Museum is taking well-deserved pride in the generosity of its supporters, as Coleman notes in this post. He also describes the recent donation from Robert Koster of Pennsylvania, a Kodak Cine-100 camera, the model that became famous as "Roger Patterson's Camera." Meanwhile, Coleman is warning that early ticket sales for an upcoming event in Santa Monica, CA, have been so slow the event is in danger of postponement, as he explains in Buy Now or Conference Could Be Postponed. Is the still unstimulated economy hurting this debut event? Other events are also highlighted in this post.

Review: Bigfoot: America's King Kong 7-31-09

This was a pretty terrific show, with Jordan and Abe discussing stick structures and wood-knocking associated with 'Squatch. The only callers were myself and Bill, along with Tim Stover and a lady from New York; Bill and I discussed various reasons for stick structures and wood-knocking and I discussed that wood-knocking could actually be jaw-popping or 'Squatches hitting their chests with a hollow cavity. Bill talked about local black bear populations close to his town, and he and I discussed that a bit. Tim Stover called in and discussed the stick structures he has seen and found and the wood knocks he has heard. The lady from New York did the same thing. Next week, Jordy and Abe bring on author/Bigfooter Kathy Strain, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/bigfootkingkong
Barackman on Wood Knocking The Blogsquatcher
The supposed use of wood-on-wood sounds by Bigfoot, known to researchers as wood knocking, gets broken down in a blog entry by Cliff Barackman, pointed out in this post, with link. Could Barackman be right: are the wood knocking sounds attributed to Bigfoot actually the sounds of the creature clapping? Elsewhere at The Blogsquatcher, a recent British video of an apparent black panther leads to the question What Would It Be Like If We Got a Good Video? Meanwhile, Nick Redfern at There's Something in the Woods announces his topics for his appearance at the September2009 Paranormal Symposium.

The Texas Bigfoot Research Conservatory (TBRC), based in Plano, TX, will hold its annual Texas Bigfoot Conferece in Tyler, TX, this year. Why Tyler? Perhaps it has something to do with the four Bigfoot sighting reports in Smith County that date back to 1963. The Smith County reports and the upcoming conference lineup are included in this review. Meanwhile, a Wisconsin television station takes time to talk with Ed Welch, because he'sLooking for Bigfoot. With news video.

From the latest edition of "Mike Conley's Tales of the Weird" comes the legendary supernatural cat of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. While Cherokee Indian legends describe a creature the sight of which could drive people insane, modern claims to sightings describe a catlike creature with glowing eyes that walks upright on two legs. Is there any truth to the Wampus Cat legends? Meanwhile, a report from People's Daily highlights some anomalous creatures from the People's Republic in Top Five Lake Monsters in China. With photos. Elsewhere, there are interesting images in the Phantoms & Monsters report Has Ogopogo Been Spotted on Google Earth?

Scientists in Laos have stumbled upon a bird that, thus far, is believed to be the only known bald songbird in Asia. Pycnonotus hualon, has been assigned to the bulbul family, making it the first description of a new bulbul in Asia in over 100 years. With photo and accompanying rare bird slide show. Meanwhile, another rare creature is about to return to an area of Britain where it hasn't been recorded since the 1950s, as reported in The 'Secretive and Timid' Smooth Snake is Sliding Back into Devon's Heathland. With photo.

Reviews: Sasquatch Triangle/The Bigfoot Mystery 7-29-09

The Sasquatch Triangle was pretty great, with guest SharonLee, who discussed her interest in the Sasquatch, especially in the Buckeye State, as well as hearing vocalizations that prompted her to drop a few F-Bombs, LOL Nancy called in and talked about the strange noises she and her husband Bernie have also heard at Salt Fork State Park, where Sharon also heard vocalizations. Dunno what Don has planned for two weeks from now, but it begins at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central.

The Bigfoot Mystery was great too, with guest Tom Yamarone, who discussed his interest and beginnings in research and his meeting with the BFRO and key members of the Bigfoot Community, as well as his songs and his longtime interest in all things 'Squatch. There was a little discussion on the recent Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up as well. Smiter called in and discussed some things about his area and also asked Tom some questions about things in his area. Dunno what Darin, Erica and I are up to for the next show, or what time it will begin. Watch this blog for further details. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
The question of big cats in Britain may have been put to rest by a video shot by an off-duty Ministry of Defence police dog handler. Is there any doubt the creature filmed by Chris Swallow is a panther-sized cat? Elsewhere in the United Kingdom, another big cat made its presence felt, as explained in Injured Horse 'Attacked by Puma'.
