As the Moon waxed huge last night, Loren Coleman was revealing prognostications and curses associated with everything from the infamous Mothman to dire events that supposedly began long ago and may be continuing. Does the huge full Moon observed last night indicate we are under harmful influences over the next few days that will affect everything around us? Elsewhere, there were apparently some harmful influences manifesting themselves for a would-be-thief in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, who says, I Was Held Captive by Ghost for 3 Days.

Making the point that the dragon of lore is not a creature to be pursued by cryptozoologists, Mel Acheson demonstrates the dragon archetype most likely sprang to life worldwide in ancient times from events our forebears observed in the heavens. Is the dragon archetype the remembrance of electrical events of immense power that dazzled and frightened our ancestors? With photo and corroborating links. There's video backing up the claims for identification of the dragons of myth as electrical events in the heavens in Symbols of an Alien Sky Part 1.

Two of the signature subjects of high strangeness, UFOs and Bigfoot, came together before multiple witnesses near Uniontown, PA, on October 25, 1973. The 35th anniversary of the enigmatic appearance of a UFO andBigfoot-like creatures gets the full treatment of an 8-part video interview with George Lutz, who accompanied lead investigator Stan Gordon seeking answers to the mysterious event.

If you're not already familiar with the creature famously outlined in the hit movie The Legend of Boggy Creek, you will be after reading this explanation of the origins of the tales of a swamp creature, a la Bigfoot, said to make its home in Millers County in Arkansas. Elsewhere, Loren Coleman will lecture on cryptozoological subjects today at the University of Maine at Augusta, as he reports in Maine Mutant Revisited.

British archaeologists have unearthed a skull more than 2,000-years-old and discovered brain matter within the cranial cavity. Is this the oldest brain ever discovered? Elsewhere, archaeologically, a British marine archaeologist has claimed evidence of the flooding of Neolithic villages across from Israel's Carmel Mountains is evidence of a famous Biblical event: Did Noah's Flood Start in the Carmel?.

The Yorkshire Dales of England, with fresh snow on the ground, has been the site of two sightings of a large black cat over the past few weeks. The latest sighting took place yesterday. With pawprint photo. There's other strangeness from the same area of England, as well, with the local news media presenting a photo of the River Lune and asking readers toHelp Us Identify Mystery Circles.

Review: Beyond The Edge Radio 12-12-08

This was a really good show, the first hour being devoted to Gettysburg Ghosts, but it also marked the triumphant return of the Movie News and Reviews segment with Scott Hackenslash making his return to discuss the new Dark Knight DVD which is out now, as well as the new The Day The Earth Stood Still remake currently in theaters. He also discussed the upcoming Star Trek film coming next May. Then, Paranormal Investigators Mark Nesbit, Scott Crownover and Patty Wilson came on and discussed various ghost cases they have investigated, as well as personal experiences they have had with ghosts. I called in and asked the guests about speaking to a spirit of a loved one as if they are with one, as well as about objects being moved and misplaced by spirits. I will try to listen to the second hour at my earliest convenience. Next Friday, Sean, Eric and Monica welcome Cryptozoologist Ken Gerhard beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

A new book written by Jez Ippolito of Cardrona, Peebleshire, England, claims to reveal a long history of UFO activity above the Tweed Valley. Ippolito says, "My book will show what the Ministry of Defence can't because I believe their protocols inhibit full coverage of the facts." Meanwhile, doctoral aspirant Jaakko Narva of the University of Helsinki is releasing his doctoral thesis this week, a thesis that supposedly answers the question, Why Do We See UFOs?

A self-professed "Indigo Child" discourses on the history of Indigo Children, who he says are capable of reading the aura of others. Are Indigo Children conected to UFOs? Key quote: "They are...highly intuitive and often are the first to spot a UFO in the sky or...sense an 'alien' presence." Elsewhere, Jeff Peckman, the Boulder, CO, resident who has been trying to get the town of Denver to create an "Alien Affairs" commission, pens a movie review in Is 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' Fiction, or Fact?
In Newport, AR, Special Paranormal Operations Team of Arkansas-Ghost Hunters Original Southern Team (S.P.O.T.A.-G.H.O.S.T.) go on record with evidence of encounters the various members of the group have experienced. Meanwhile, Chris Holly wants to know What Would You Do If You Found Yourself Smack in the Middle of a Paranormal Event?

The Other Side of Bigfoot and Wild-Men…
…That is, “The Other Side of the Pond”! By this I am specifically referencing reports of hairy wild men reported in places other than here in the United States, specifically Europe and Russia. My interest in this subject, from a folkloric perspective, stemmed from recently coming across the term “Woose”, which refers to a particular breed of Bigfoot-like creature common to C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia series. The term “Woose” actually is a derivative of an Old English term, Woodwose, which was used to describe wild men seen in throughout Europe during the middle ages.

Is Bigfoot Dead? Ghostsamongus
A spate of claims that Bigfoot evidence, including the famous Patterson-Gimlin film of 1967, had been faked comes up for examination. Have the recent hoax claims led to the conclusion the Bigfoot legend has come to the end of the road? Meanwhile, a South American photographer thinks he has captured images of a Strange Flying 'Creature' Photographed at Macachin, Argentina Airport. Elsewhere, Nick Redfern at There's Something in the Woods is announcing the release of the Centre for Fortean Zoology's new book covering the recent Caucasus Mountains trek in search of the "hairy wild-man known as the Almasty": Expedition Report 2008: Russia.

DVD Review: The Dark Knight

Movie of the Year!!!

This film, directed by Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins, Memento) is a full-on, in-your-face tour de force which grabs on and does not let go. In this sequel, Batman/Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale (Reign of Fire, Empire of The Sun, American Psycho, Batman Begins) is still fighting crime in Gotham City, taking down the Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins) early in the film, but running across copycats dressing like him who hurt more than help. The new District Attorney, Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart (Thank You For Smoking) is putting criminals behind bars, mainly the mob, which is having problems of its own, in the form of the mysterious criminal known only as the Joker (Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain, A Knight's Tale, Ten Things I Hate About You), who is literally robbing the mob blind. The film works as not just a superhero movie, not just a Batman movie, but as a Crime-Drama epic in the tradition of Heat. Several solid actors provide terrific support, including Anthony Michael Hall (Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, TV's The Dead Zone) as a sleazy tabloid reporter and Eric Roberts as crime boss Sal Maroni. Three actors return from the first Nolan Gotham City Protector project-Gary Oldman (Bram Stoker's Dracula, Air Force One) returns as Lieutenant Gordon; Oscar Winner Michael Caine (The Cider House Rules) is back as Bruce Wayne's loyal butler, Alfred and Oscar Winner Morgan Freeman (Driving Miss Daisy, Kiss The Girls, Along Came A Spider, The Shawshank Redemption) returns as Batman's version of "Q" Lucius Fox. The only character who has had a facelift is Rachel Dawes, originally played by Katie Holmes, but filled in by Maggie Gyllenhal for this film. There is even a humorous moment in the film involving a cryptozoological piece of footage. This is one of the top films of the decade, certainly the film of the year. 5 out of 5 stars!!!

Review: The Sasquatch Triangle 12-10-08

This was a pretty terrific show, with Don basically interviewing me and we talked about the Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up next May, as well as Don's meetings with Rene Dahinden, Grover Krantz and others at the Sasquatch Symposium in 1997 inVancouver, British Columbia. Don and I discussed various things, and there was a caller from California who called in and told Don the reason Bob Gimlin does not go east to Conferences is he is afraid of flying. Don also made the announcement that there WILL be a 21st-Annual Ohio Bigfoot Conference, May 2nd, 2009, with no speakers as of yet officially set, but there is a Conference on the East Coast for 2009. Dunno what Don has planned for the final program of 2008, next Wednesday, but it begins at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
Author, lecturer and curator of the International Cryptozoology Museum Loren Coleman will take the podium at the University of Maine at Augusta this weekend to discuss the "Maine mystery beast" of 2006, Bigfoot, sea serpents and more. That Coleman lecture, of course, is more convenient for folks on the East Coast. On the West Coast, cryptid fans will have to wait a while longer to Ask a Scientist About Bigfoot. Meanwhile, atCryptomundo, Coleman uses text and illustration to tell about what may have been the World's Largest Mammoth?

Review: Bigfoot Quest 12-9-08

This was a terrific show, with guest Dave Dragosin from Pennsylvania, who discussed his research and the interesting stories he has heard from people. Several folks called in, including myself, Bill Green, Kelly Beverly, the Creature Seeker and Smiter. I asked Dave about reports from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, as well as food habits of the Sasquatch that he has observed. Bill called in and asked some really good questions about latest reports and patterns observed by Dave. Kelly called in to support her buddy Dave, and Creature Seeker called in and asked a really good question about how the efforts of Conservationists might help or hinder efforts to prove the Sasquatch to be real. Bob and Mike I believe are scheduled to have Mr. Eric Altman as their guest next Tuesday night at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
