DVD Review: Indiana Jones: The Adventure Collection

This DVD set brings us the three original Indiana Jones adventures-Indiana Jones and The Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. These films were produced by powerhouse Lucasfilm, LTD, executive-produced by George Lucas (Star Wars Saga, American Graffiti) and directed by Steven Spielberg (Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Jaws). In Raiders, set in 1936, we are introduced to Archaeology Professor Henry Walton "Indiana" Jones (Harrison Ford), as he searches for the Lost Ark of The Covenant, competing with Nazis and a French archaeologist Rene' Belloq (Paul Freeman) in a globe-trotting adventure which introduces us to his old flame Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen), friend and colleague Marcus Brody (Denholm Elliott) and old friend Sallah (John Rhys-Davies) which takes him from the jungles of Peru to fictional Marshall College to the high Himalayas to the deserts of Egypt in the search for the chest used to transport the Ten Commandments. Temple of Doom introduces new characters such as Willie Scott (Kate Capshaw), Short Round (Khe We Quan) and villainous Mola Ram (Amrish Puri) in a fight to recover the Sankara Stones from the Thuggee Cult in 1935 India. Dan Ackroyd has an uncredited cameo in the film as well. In Last Crusade, set in 1938, we meet Indy's Dad, Professor Henry Jones Sr. (Sean Connery), who is rescued by Indy and his ally Dr. Elsa Schneider (Alison Doody) who turns out later to be a Nazi, and she joins forces with Walter Donovan (Julian Glover) and Colonel Vogel (Michael Byrne) in a quest for the Holy Grail which goes from the city of Venice to the deserts near the ancient city of Petra to a castle in Germany to Berlin, right in the heart of the Nazi stronghold, where Indy has a rather unexpected meeting with Adolf Hitler. Brody and Sallah also accompany Indy and his dad along the way, and we see the late River Phoenix portraying a young Indy in a flashback sequence. There are also great extras on this DVD set, great behind the scenes features and extra goodies. I highly recommend this set for any Indy fan or any adventure film collector.

Review: Beyond The Edge Radio 6-13-08

This was a great show what I could hear of it (I had some PC problems so I missed about 40 minutes of the show). It featured Paranormal Investigators Greg and Kathy Feketik, who discussed such things as Paranormal Research and Ghost Hunting, as well as their research into Spirits and Paranormal entities. There were no callers, but many questions from the chatroom, where there were some incidents which were taken care of by the moderators. Next week, Eric and Sean begin officially the Paranormal Party of the Summer, with their guest UFO/Bigfoot Investigator Stan Gordon, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/beyondtheedgeradio You can also download past episodes there, as well as subscribe via iTunes. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
We could have held this story until tomorrow, Friday the 13th, but we wanted you to have ample time to stock the larder, bolt all the doors and windows and hunker down until the dangerous 24-hour period has passed. Then, of course, you can come in off the ledge. Or can you? What makes Haunted America Tours refer to tomorrow as "The Most Haunted Day of the Year"? On the other hand, you might want to debunk the entire notion with a trip to HowStuffWorks Reveals the Secrets Behind the Superstition of Friday the 13th.
Borneo villagers are reeling from the shock of discovering two extra large footprints near the fence of a nearby orchard. With photos. Elsewhere, Nick Redfern at Man-Beast U.K. reviews a chapter of the new book Mystery Animals of the British Isles: Northumberland and Tyneside by Mike Hallowell, and tells about it in The Bolam Bigfoot in a Major New Book. Meanwhile, there's a report of the rediscovery of a Brazilian bird, thought to have been lost to the ages since first seen in 1926, and the discovery of several new bird species: Found After 80 Years: Caatinga Woodpecker. With photos.

Beyond The Edge Radio Tomorrow...

World Paranormal Investigations member Greg and Kathy Feketik join us Friday night at 9:00 pm est.

Greg Feketik Assistant Director/Paranormal Investigator

Kathy Feketik Assistant Director/Paranormal Investigator

Join Eric and Sean as they welcome Kathy and Greg Feketik assistant directors and investigators for World Paranormal Investigations Friday night at 9:00 PM as we talk about their investigations and haunted happenings. It is sure to be a ghoulish time for all!
Greg has been interested in the unexplained for as long as he can remember. Being a police officer, he is somewhat the skeptic, in that he needs hard evidence that a place is truly haunted. After investigating on their own for several years he and his wife Kathy joined World Paranormal Investigations (WPI) in August of 2005.
Kathy has had an interest in the paranormal for most of her life but did not expand that interest to investigating until five years ago with her husband and 4 children. She joined WPI as Assistant Director in August 2005 to expand her horizons even more.
Both Greg and Kathy are amateur paranormal investigators who investigate as often as they can. They are self-trained, meaning they have read numerous books and web-sites on the paranormal, television programs on the paranormal, as well as on-the job (investigating)-training and learning from others.
WPI was founded in 2004 by John and Bea Brugge and Lisa Wyke. WPI currently has 7 investigators 2 researchers and have conducted over 40 investigations in the past 4 years. The team brings different beliefs and skills which offer a well-balanced investigation. WPI has team in the United Kingdom that is directed by Lisa Wyke. The website is World Paranormal Investigators :

Review: Sasquatch Triangle 6-12-08

This was a terrific, if short show, about the upcoming episode which will air next Wednesday night on History of Monsterquest with a producer from the show named Jared Crick, who discussed the process of how episodes are shot and created, as well as about the interest from White Wolf Entertainment. I called in and asked him about how long a typical episode takes from production to airtime, and he answered that very well. Thomas also called in and discussed some of his research, and Bill Green called in and asked if there were more Bigfoot shows in the future on the hit series. Jared answered in the affirmative on that. Next week, Don has I think a bit of an overview of the episode which will air next week on History, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at NowLive Show

Review: Monsterquest 6-11-08

This was a rather unique and interesting program, focusing on Ghosts, where several photos and videos were taken of alleged spirits, including one at a gas station in Parma, Ohio, one at the Vatican which turned out to be a misidentification and some older ghost photos, as well as a piece of footage taken at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania at the battlefield which appears to show two entities. An investigation is also made of the Lizzie Borden House where the famous Borden murders took place. Al Rauber and Dave Manganelli, Paranormal Investigators, are conducting that investigation, using all kinds of video and audio equipment, including the FLIR, Infrared and Night-Vision cameras. Another paranormal investigator, Matt Moniz, while he was investigating the house, had a camera moved by an unseen entity while the camera was in operation. An alleged EVP is also examined by a fellow named Tom Owen, who is an expert in identifying audio recordings (he successfully identified a recording of Osama Bin Laden in 2002), and he gives his assessment of the EVP, despite his skepticism of the phenomenon. Rauber and Manganelli also manage to capture a strange audio signal of some entity, but cannot readily identify it. Next week, Monsterquest examines the Ohio Grassman, the Buckeye State's version of Sasquatch or Bigfoot, which will include Ohio's own Don Keating, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central on History. Only about 150 California Condors exist in the wild, and there's considerable concern that lead from hunting weapons could be ingested by the giant birds and bring them to extinction. But hunters are pointing out that other carrion eating birds such as eagles and vultures are on the increase, despite hunters' use of lead shot and lead bullets. July 1 marks the beginning of a new California law against lead projectile use by hunters in certain regions of the state. There are also East Coast efforts underway to preserve a declining bird population, as detailed in Bringing Back Bluebirds: Enthusiasts Work to Revive Population of Greatly Declined Species. Meanwhile, Loren Coleman discusses a bird that appears to definitely be extinct in New Dodos and points out how you can have some fun and, perhaps, earn some cash in $1000 for Your Sasquatch at the Mall Trailer. Elsewhere, out of place big cats are the concern in Australia as Panther Appears in Question Time.
Among today's odd news stories: Reports seem to indicate the plight of the honeybee in North America has many people doing their part to ensure the bees survive, ordering amateur beekeeping equipment in unprecedented numbers. Meanwhile, in Kota Bahru, a city in Malaysia's northeast, there are bird nest farmers coaxing birds into cavelike homes where the farmers can steal the nests to sell for inclusion in soup that has "a wide range of health-giving qualities (such as) acting as an aphrodisiac, ...clearing up skin problems, reinforcing the immune system, strengthening the lungs...(and balancing) the mysterious force known as qi, or life force", as reported in Farming Bird's Nests in the City.

Review: Bigfoot Central/Bigfoot Quest/XZone 6-10-08

This was a terrific show, the last for a while for Bigfoot Central (M.K. and Don are taking a hiatus after tonight's show). He did basically lash out at his critics in a nice way, but he also showed what appears to be a large red stain on the floor of the P/G Movie site in Frame 352. He also said he is no longer speculating on anything, just observing. Don Monroe also discussed his plans to take some time off and go to different places during the hiatus and also discussed about some possible evidence he found not too long ago. Bigfoot Central might continue, with different hosts, till M.K. and Don return. Continue to tune in to www.artistfirst.com for further details.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was a great call-in/open-mic show, with several callers, including myself, Bill Green, Thomas, Sally and Ole Bub, who discussed different things (Sally discussed photography tips, which is a major forte' of hers, Ole Bub discussed some activity in Oklahoma, Bill asked his standard question, LOL and Thomas discussed his research. I announced about M.K. not giving up for good as far as leaving the Bigfoot field). Dunno what is up for next week, but it starts at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at Bigfoot Quest, Tuesday Nights at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central

You can also download past shows there, as well as subscribe via iTunes. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

This was a terrific show on the XZone, with Sean Forker and Eric Altman on to discuss the upcoming East Coast Bigfoot Conference, as well as recent developments within the Bigfoot Community. There was a bit of discussion on the Jacobs Photos, as well as the reasons why no Sasquatch body has been brought in yet. I called in and gave an update on my trip to East Tennessee, as well as the 20th-Annual Ohio Bigfoot Conference. Sean and Eric did a great job, and it is easy to see why Rob has them on every month. Great job, guys.
The controversy over the video the “Seljord Serpent” or Selma, which was taken at Lake Seljord, Norway, by Andrew Sanderson and Adam Davies, author of Extreme Expeditions, continues at a heated pace. Note that this was not the reason a warning, "For Mature Audience Only," appears on the book.
Here is a roundup of some cases of long-tailed spotted and striped small mysterious and not-so-mysterious cats. With felid images. Meanwhile, The Paranormal Pastor, Pastor Swope, recounts his own encounter with a large bird in Thunderbirds Over Western Pennsylvania. Review: Squatch Detective Radio 6-9-08

This was a pretty great show, with witness Jim from Oklahoma, who discussed his research and his techniques in the field, as well as his sightings and encounters, and answered questions from the hosts and guest co-host Darren Lee from Mid-America Bigfoot, sitting in for Billy who was in the field. He discussed things also with callers Bill Green and several others, and answered questions from the chatroom as well. Dunno what is up for next week, but it should be a good one, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at Squatch Detective Radio, Monday Nights at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central

New Talk Show!!!!!!

Our good friend Bill Green now has his own talk show on Blog Talk Radio, which airs on Monday mornings at 9:30 EST/8:30 Central at
Sean Forker is helping him out with it, and the first episode sounds great so far. It's kind of a hodge-podge of discussion-Bigfoot, movies, DVD's, World Events, just a potpourri of topics. Let's wish our good friend all the luck in the world. EXCELSIOR, Bill!!!!!!

My review of the first show is that it is pretty great, just a discussion jumping back and forth from Bigfoot to World Events to DVD's to movies, just basically anything that comes to mind. Sean is helping him out, which is a great thing. A couple of callers called in, those being Sunny and Mighty MoMo. Sunny discussed the solution to Road Rage, which is the high gas prices, and MoMo discussed the Missouri Monster. GREAT first show, gentlemen!!!!!!

Squatch Detective Radio Tonight...

Steve, Becky and Billy will have a witness named "Jim" on beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at Squatch Detective Radio, Monday Nights at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central

Review: The Bigfoot Mystery 6-8-08

This was a GREAT show, with guest Randy from Canada, who described several sightings and encounters he has had since July 2006 in British Columbia with Sasquatch creatures which he thinks are more humanlike than apelike. He has also had a sighting of one with a ponytail ala the P/G Movie creature/individual (he was not aware of the work done on the film by M.K. Davis), and he answered various questions from callers such as Bill Green and Thomas and also a more skeptical caller who wondered why there were no Bigfoot found and also another question which I can't remember off the top of my head. There were also several questions from the chatroom as well. Dunno what Darin, Janice and myself have planned for next week, but it should be a good one, beginning at 7:00 EST/6:00 Central at The Bigfoot Mystery, Sunday evenings at 7:00 EST/6:00 Central

You can also download past shows there, as well as subscribe via iTunes. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Review: HBM's Crypto-Corner 6-8-08

This was a GREAT show, with a good friend of mine named Sally (ShBoom2) who discussed her research, as well as an encounter she had while in college with a strange vocalization while in Pipestem State Park in West Virginia, as well as her research in North Carolina and her tenure with the BFRO as a member of their forum and chat board. Thomas and Ole Bub called in and asked Sally various questions about habituation and also about research. Bill took the lead in questions during the first half-hour and did a great job, asking probing questions as he is wont to do and did a great job. Next week, Bill and I will be welcoming several guests, including Janice Carter, Tom Shirley, Ole Bub himself, Steve Summar and Darin Richardson, and possibly Thomas Hughes if he behaves himself, LOL The show will begin at a special early start time of 4:30 EST/3:30 Central at HBM's Crypto-Corner, Sunday afternoons at 5:00 EST/4:00 Central

You can also download past episodes there, as well as subscribe via iTunes. And as always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
Among today's odd stories: Over thirty years ago, Jacqui Lester awoke to find an eight-inch-tall female fairy perched on the foot of her bed. To this day, Jacqui Lester is convinced the fairy was real. Does the age-old tradition of tales of fairies, gremlins, elves and such translate to the more modern "little greys" of extraterrestrial reports? Do we have an ingrained need to believe in and see such creatures? Meanwhile, Richard Thomas, in his "Room 101" at Binnall of America revisits a British sci-fi icon in Ghosts, Aliens, Yeti and the Late Great Nigel Kneale, Regan Lee at The Orange Orb displays The Watercolor Alien Ant, Loren Coleman at The Copycat Effect reports on the curious timing of the Akihabara Stabbing Spree, Anthony North of Beyond the Blog delivers an essay that tells How to Explain Knowledge, Greg Bishop at UFO Mystic points us to the Video of "Captured Alien" and Rick Phillips at The Heavy Stuff investigates the "real" meaning of recent perception research in Media Promotes 'Seeing the Future' 'Research'.

Those footprints found in volcanic ash in the Valsequillo Basin of Mexico, first reported in Footprints in the Ash and Footprints Show 1st Americans Came 25,000 Years Early? are now drawing some criticism. Of course, the usual trend is to discard any dates that don't fit the established consensus, so what are the chances the dating of these footprints will be accepted?

There have been tales of devilish children born through the ages, including the Jersey Devil, but in the "Big Easy" the story of the Bourbon Street Devil Baby reigns supreme. Is there any truth to the legend of the Bourbon Street Devil Baby that allegedly began in the early 19th century? Meanwhile, the Friends of EUP continue to probe the waters of life after death phenomena with a podcast Interview with Rebecca Ann Garrity and Michael Prescott offers Book Review (Part Two): Life After Death, by Jan W. Vandersande.
Darren Naish and a host of bloggers go over the famed Mansi photo thought by some to depict the reputed denizen of Lake Champlain known as Champ. With photos and illustrations. From the waters of Lake Champlain, we head next to the Highlands of Scotland, not for a report of the Loch Ness monster, but for a big cat tale in Webcams Launch Game of Cat and Mouse for Highland Beasts. There's more British big cat talk in 'Beast of Bretton' Spotted Again. Meanwhile, there's sage advice for anyone who would like to know How to Find Sasquatch...and Win a Million Dollars.
