Book Review: Dark Force

Author: Bill Bean

This book is absolutely compelling and interesting, and also frightening but ultimately uplifting. It is the story of the Bean family, an average, all-American family consisting of Bill Sr., Bill Jr., his younger brother Bobby, older sister Patti and mother Patricia who move into a home in Glen Burnie, Maryland, in 1970, and all were really put-upon by spirits, which Bill believes caused his father to abuse his mother. Bill Sr. became an alcoholic, and never believed in spirits occupying the home. The spirits were an "Undertaker" type with dark hair, black eyes, dark period clothing and a black hat; a red-haired man with a jagged scar on his face; an evil entity with no discernible features except red eyes and a woman spirit, which was almost angelic in her countenance and attitude. The small family, as well as members of the family such as Mom-Mom and Aunt Joyce, also experienced unusual happenings in the house. The hauntings went on for a decade until-well, I will let you read the book for yourself to see the rest of the details. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is a good fan of a good ghost story. It can be purchased at lulu.com and also Amazon.com (it can also be purchased as an e-book at lulu.com) Further details can be found
  • Here
  • on the story, and the book is a perfect example of what the power of positive thinking can do for a life which was shattered by nightly visits from malevolent spirits.

Review: Beyond The Edge Radio 12-07-07

This was a WONDERFUL show, with guest Bill Bean, who told his story of ghostly activity at the house he and his family lived in in Arundel, Maryland, which lasted for ten years, caused his father to be abusive (and then leave the family and move to Florida) and basically threatened to destroy the Bean family. Many questions were fielded from the chatroom, including from Bill Green, Craig Hines and Terrie Seech (who all won e-book copies of Bill's book Dark Force) as well as Scott Hackenslash's usual weekly Movie Review segment, in which he gave a year-in-review dissertation of some of the best Sci-Fi and Horror films of the year. There was also the debut of a new segment, called Paranormal News On The Five, put together by Sean Forker and very excellently done. Beyond The Edge Radio continues to be one of the best Paranormal radio programs on the Internet, and it is a pleasure to hear two hosts who are as knowledgeable as Sean and Eric. This was a TERRIFIC program. There is no guest announced for next week yet, but it should be a good one, and it airs next Friday at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at the link to the right. As always, we do encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

    Review: Let's Talk Bigfoot! 12-5-07

This was a wonderful show, with a special surprise return-Teresa Hall returned to the co-host chair!!! The guest was Daryl Colyer of the Texas Bigfoot Research Conservancy, who discussed things like a game-cam project known as Operation Forest Video which is going on in Texas and Oklahoma. Daryl also discussed his field research and work with the TBRC, and he stated that it was the initiative of Dr. George Schaller to put game-cams in the field to attempt to photograph a Sasquatch, and Daryl also works closely with Dr. Duane Schlitter who has said that if a photo of a Sasquatch is taken by a game-cam, that he would examine it. Melissa asked Daryl about possible hindrance from Texas state officials, and Daryl answered that there is no true resistance to the TBRC's activities. Daryl mentioned that diversity is very good in a group, and that it is a strength. Daryl also mentioned that there are 56 active members in the TBRC, and that he has been active with it since 2003. Daryl is also an advocate of being as subdued as possible and quiet as possible in the field. Daryl also briefly recounts his sighting in 2004 and attributes it to children laughing and also a loud stereo. It was a great show, full of great information. Melissa's next guest will be Thomas Steenburg, next Wednesday at 10:00 EST/9:00 Central at the link to the right. As always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

In an article by Robert Vinciguerra, the recent discovery of "mummified" remains of a duckbilled dinosaur in North Dakota is pointed out as an opportunity for evangelicals to incorrectly claim dinosaurs and man co-existed as recently as 6,000 years ago. The 2005 discovery of soft tissues in the legbone of an otherwise fossilized Tyrannosaurus rex is also pointed out by Vinciguerra as a point erroneously raised by the Christian creationists as an indication of a young Earth. Vinciguerra is the founder of "The Rev. Rob Times."

    Review: Monsterquest 12-5-07

This was a rather interesting episode, about mutant canines which have been killing family pets and other animals, which may be timber wolves, possibly, in Minnesota. The famous Turner Beast case is examined, with Loren Coleman giving his expertise on it, in his home state of Maine. The Turner Road Beast remains are in a garage, but some of its remains have been sent to NYU for further analysis. Reports of these strange beasts go back many hundreds of years. A local newspaper writer for the Lewiston Sun-Journal in Maine, Mark LaFlamme is also interviewed about his impressions on these mystery beasts. It is speculated that hybridization of dogs and wolves is responsible possibly for the sightings of strange beasts such as the Turner Beast. The Wolverine is also speculated to be possibly a candidate for the mystery beast. Several witnesses are interviewed about their sightings and also their finding of their family pets dying from unknown wounds. In Minnesota, a wildlife expert, Craig Enervold is doing an investigation on the mystery beast in the Gopher State, setting out camera traps to see if there is something worth capturing on them regarding a mystery beast. The mangy coyote or dog theory is also examined as a possibility for mystery dog/wolf beasts. It was a fair and even-handed episode, and Monsterquest continues to be very well-done and well-researched for the most part. Next week examines Lions In The Suburbs, at 10:00 EST/9:00 Central on the History Channel. Again, check your local listings for time and channel.

Review: Paranormal Talk Presents Monster Gallery with Annette 12-04-07

This was a wonderful and informal show, with Melissa Hovey, Monica Rawlins and Kathy Strain, who discussed the circumstances surrounding their recent Monsterquest episode, including their death march into Skookum Meadows, the weather they experienced (which was very rainy all 7 days), their different research techniques, the troubles with the cameraman and other subjects. I also called in and extended an invitation to Melissa and Monica to be on the Sasquatch Experience this Sunday, but I left out Kathy and got on her "sh*t-list," LOL Many questions were fielded from the chat, and a lady named Yve who has a show on Blog Talk Radio called in and described a Sasquatch sighting she and her husband had a few years ago. It was a great show, and Annette is a great host.

This was a wonderful show, with Melissa hosting Tracy Herigstad, Kathy Strain and Monica Rawlins in a discussion of the recent Monsterquest episode they took part in which was aired nearly a week ago. They discussed theu adventures in the area in which they experienced rock-throwing, falling into a creek, their death-march into Skookum Meadows, their meeting with a group of male researchers (Jerry Reidel, Brian Brown and John Witherspoon), their sightings of elk and other subjects which were covered on the Doug Hajicek-produced show aired on the History Channel last week. It was a great show, and the ladies were very natural and comfortable with each other like old friends sitting around a table talking. This show featured AIBR member Pete Aniello, and was a good one. He works for the Environmental Systems Research Institute, GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software company in Southern California. He is a former BFRO member as well. His interest in Bigfoot was piqued by John Napier's book Bigfoot: The Yeti and Sasquatch In Myth and Reality, and he found the BFRO website in 2002. He began plotting out maps and putting them into a GIS database for locations of sightings, as well. He recently spoke at the Texas Bigfoot Conference about geo-spatial patterns as they relate to Sasquatch sightings. He bases this on latitude, longitude and elevation. The ideas Pete has are very scientific and I think very helpful to this field. A job well-done by Melissa.
