Take an expedition to the Sea of Cortez, Mexico where fishermen regularly claim to encounter large schools of giant squid. Watch as squid expert Scott Cassel uses lures with built-in cameras in an attempt to video a Kraken-sized squid 1,000 feet below the ocean. What Cassel and his team discover will make history. TVPG

04:00 PM MonsterQuest: Birdzilla

Native Americans have long revered huge birds called Thunderbirds. There was a rash of giant bird sightings in Illinois, Texas and Alaska back in the 1970's. A giant bird with a 15-foot wingspan allegedly attacked a small child in Illinois. Could there really be a giant bird or is it mass hysteria? Take a scientific journey and follow the many eyewitnesses' accounts across the country and examine the most compelling evidence. One-part history, one-part science and one part monster, discover the truth behind legendary monsters.

TVPG

05:00 PM MonsterQuest: America's Loch Ness Monster

Does a giant prehistoric creature lurk in Lake Champlain? Locals call it Champ. Generations of eyewitnesses rumor to have seen the creature, a dinosaur like animal, 15-25 feet long most resembling the extinct plesiosaur. Examine the mystery surrounding Lake Champlain as specially designed cameras search for the monster. Existing photographic evidence will also be put to the test.

TVPG

06:00 PM MonsterQuest: Sasquatch Attack?

Does Canada have its own Bigfoot? Owners of a fly-in fishing cabin report attacks by an unknown creature. Can DNA tests on blood and tissue from the alleged beast reveal its true identity? The test results will surprise you. One-part history, one-part science and one part monster, discover the truth behind these beasts and take a scientific look at legendary creatures around the world. The best evidence available will be examined, from pictures and video, to hair and bones. Scientists will be brought in to tell viewers what the evidence reveals. Ultimately the evidence will reveal the truth....or in some cases continue the mystery.

TVPG

07:00 PM MonsterQuest: Bigfoot

Bigfoot has been sighted in Washington State more than any other place on earth. Join an all-female expedition as they try to lure a Bigfoot within range of their cameras. The 1967 Patterson footage will be reexamined using digital microscopes that could reveal details that might prove if the beast is real or a hoax. One-part history, one-part science and one part monsters, discover the truth behind legendary monsters.

Josh Gates Finds Yeti Prints Near Everest

Posted by: Loren Coleman on December 1st, 2007

Members of a TV production team investigating the existence of the legendary Yeti in Nepal said Friday that they have found footprints intriguing enough to merit further investigation.

The team of nine producers from “Destination Truth,” armed with infrared cameras, spent a week in the icy Khumbu region where Mount Everest is located and found the footprints on the bank of the Manju River at an elevation of 9,350 feet (2,850 meters).

Review: Beyond The Edge Radio 11-30-07

This was a wonderful show, with guest Craig Hines, whose areas of expertise are Fallen Angels, EVP and missing Biblical history. He fielded questions about EVP's and ghosts, as well as a question I called in about the recent body discovered in a tomb which had Jesus written in Aramaic on the box the remains were found in. Bill Green asked about Sasquatch references in the Bible as well, and others asked about ghosts and other things. Craig's theories about Christianity are controversial but very interesting and thought-provoking. I enjoyed the show. Next Friday will see Bob Chance of Maryland to discuss Bigfoot sightings in that state. The show begins at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at the link to the right. As always, we do encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Beyond The Edge Radio Tonight...

Eric and Sean will interview Craig Hines. Here is a brief bio on him:

Author PhotoCraig Hines is a multimedia artist with nearly two decades of experience in the fields of computer graphics, video production, and website design. His interest in computers began at an early age, and has only been rivaled by his fascination with ancient civilizations, paranormal phenomena, science, and technology. His focused research on what would later become Gateway of the Gods began in 1999, and continues through today. Hines believes that his training in multimedia, coupled with his knowledge of the paranormal, has given him a unique point of view, whereby he examines how to make the fantastic real and accessible.

Hines hopes that his research breathes fresh perspective into the field, and that his methods garner the mainstream respect that has eluded other authors. He encourages discussion of the facts, not agendas, both within the scientific and historical communities, and in the population at large. “Finding the truth of the world around us,” Hines states, “will depend upon our ability to be honest and open to fantastic possibilities, yet discerning enough to not blindly accept the fantastic as the only plausible explanation.”

In addition to his writing, Hines is also the force behind Dark Imaginings™, a website offering his macabre, and quite often morbidly humorous, "haunted" artwork. Another project in development includes the Janus Seminars™, a web-based digital classroom designed to bring together the best research and minds of the paranormal, scientific, historical, and theological communities to worldwide audiences.

DVD Review: Elf

This film, released in 2003, is a wonderful holiday picture. Will Ferrell stars as Buddy the Elf, who crawls into Santa Claus' (Ed Asner) bag at an orphanage and winds up at the North Pole where he is adopted by Papa Elf (played by Bob Newhart). It is soon realized that Buddy is not a true elf, but a human raised by elves. After finding out his true parentage, a Walter Hobbs (played by James Caan) he journeys to New York City to meet and reconcile with his biological father. With his innocent nature he has several misadventures, more particularly at Gimbel's, where he is mistaken for an elf worker and put to work at the "North Pole" and meets a worker named Jovie (played by Zooey Deschanel) who he is enchanted by and falls in love with. He then goes to his father's apartment, meeting his half-mother (Mary Steenburgen) and his half-brother. He stays there until he is taken to work by Walter, where he gets drunk for the first time. He then has many adventures along the way, including running away from home until he meets Santa who has crash-landed in Central Park. I will not give away too much more, but it is a satisfying conclusion, including a spoof of a well-known cryptozoological piece of footage. I give Elf 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

Sasquatch Experience Tonight...

Sean and I are thinking of doing an impromptu show this evening sometime, possibly at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central, and we want to see about perhaps having Melissa Hovey on to discuss last night's Monsterquest episode. Review: Monsterquest 11-28-07

This was a pretty even-handed and scientific look at Bigfoot, including the old chestnut of the Patterson/Gimlin Movie which was examined under digital microscopes with interesting results by Rick Noll, Owen Caddy and Dr. Daris Swindler. Chris Murphy, John Kirk and Esteban Sarmiento are also interviewed on their impressions on hairy bipeds in the U.S. The other focuses of the show were the Skookum Cast, and two expeditions in Washington State, one led by Dr. Briggs Hall, the other an all-female expedition with some familiar faces and names in the Bigfoot field, such as Melissa Hovey, Kathy Strain, Monica Rawlins, Tracy Hegristad and Kristine Walls in the Skookum Meadows area, where they were camped out looking for evidence, setting up camera traps and doing experiments such as singing Christmas Carols to attract the attention of 'Squatches. Not very much new information from the P/G Movie or the Skookum Cast, but it was great to see the two expeditions, especially the ladies. I would give this one about a 4 out of 5 stars. The next program will have a focus on Mutant Canines, next Wednesday night at 10:00 EST/9:00 Central on the History Channel. Check your local listings for time and channel.

Review: Paranormal Talk Presents Monster Gallery with Annette

This was a wonderful show, with me reuniting with an old friend, Annette Jones, on the air (I was on the show for most of the hour), along with another old friend, Melissa Hovey, and we had a wonderful roundtable discussion about all kinds of subjects in the world of Bigfoot, such as Melissa's TV debut tonight on Monsterquest, the expedition surrounding that, the recent Sasquatch Attack episode which yielded the DNA, the Jacobs Photos and other subjects regarding Bigfoot. I got to plug the SQuatchMEDIA family, and Melissa got to plug her website as well. Melissa also discussed her recent trip to Monster Central in western Louisiana. The best part is, this is only Part 1-next Tuesday night, Annette will bring Melissa back, along with Kathy Strain and Monica Rawlins to discuss the Monsterquest episode airing tonight on History Channel. Review: Bigfoot Quest 11-27-07

This was Bob Coyne's debut show, and it was a great one, with special guest-co-host Mike Killen (AKA The Long Island Yeti) and guest Chris Julian, who discussed Sasquatch Research in the Northeast and New England, and Chris had supplied some sound clips for the show of unusual vocalizations. I called in early in the show and stayed on for most of the program, discussing things like the sounds as well as some more recent news and the upcoming Monsterquest show tonight on the History Channel, as well as promoting Annette Jones' show which came on in the following hour with Melissa Hovey (more on that in the next review). It was a great debut show, and we are proud to have Bob under the SQuatchMEDIA Productions banner. I look forward to next Tuesday night when Bob has another great program and another great guest.
