Monsterquest Tonight...

MonsterQuest : Birdzilla Airs on Wednesday November 21 10:00 PM

Native Americans have long revered huge birds called Thunderbirds. There was a rash of giant bird sightings in Illinois, Texas and Alaska back in the 1970's. A giant bird with a 15-foot wingspan allegedly attacked a small child in Illinois. Could there really be a giant bird or is it mass hysteria? Take a scientific journey and follow the many eyewitnesses' accounts across the country and examine the most compelling evidence. One-part history, one-part science and one part monster, discover the truth behind legendary monsters.

Review: The XZone 11-20-07

This was a pretty good show, with guest Robert W. Morgan, who discussed his Forest Giant research, as well as his recently published book The Soul Snatchers coming from the same publishers of the updated Bigfoot Casebook and Sali Sheppard-Wolford's recent book Valley of The Skookum. Our own Bill Green called in and asked his usual questions (which do get answered despite Bill's signature same questions), and Morgan actually stayed over for one hour during the Cooke Report which discussed a possible gravesite of giant bones found in Germany. It was an enjoyable hour and 30 minutes.
Chinese authorities have launched an investigation into the alleged sighting of two Bigfoot-like creatures in the Shennongjia Nature Preserve in central China's Hubei Province. Four tourists reported making the sighting along the Licha River on the northern side of Laojun Mountain in the afternoon on November 18. What's an 18-foot ocean dwelling minke whale doing 1,000 miles from the ocean and stuck on a sandbar in the Tapajos River, a tributary of the Amazon? Brazilian scientists are working to return the 12-ton animal to the ocean, but the question remains: What would make a fully grown whale take such a monumentally wrong turn? Could this be a male minke whale?

Fossil finds have been made at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains at Dmanisi in Georgia that may be changing beliefs regarding the "Out of Africa" distribution of mankind. Partial skeletons of 1.77 million-years-old hominids have been unearthed, skeletons that show a primitive brain and longer, more human-like legs. Is "Dmanisi man" an intermediate link between ape-like Homo habilis and more human-like Homo erectus? Meanwhile, Are the 2.04 Million-Year-Old Wushan Fossils the Oldest Hominin from China? Review: Squatch Detective Radio 11-19-07

This was a wonderful show, with guest Dave (DB) Donlon (also known as the BlogSquatcher) who discussed further from last week techniques for recording strange sounds, as well as audio programs online which can be used for audio files, as well as answering questions from callers Steve from south Virginia and Stan Courtney, from the wilds of Idaho, where is currently 'Squatching. The main area discussed for audio encounters was Dumphreys and Culpepper, Virginia where a few audio recordings were made. Steve Kulls also provided an audio report on his time in California, where he is flying home from for a week to celebrate Thanksgiving before heading back to go on expedition again. Steve will return next week, along with a few guests to tell stories of the expedition, and that show begins at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at the link to the right. DVD Review: Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut

Superman II - The Richard Donner Cut
DVD ~ Christopher Reeve
Price: $19.99
Availability: In Stock

78 used & new from $10.25

3 of 5 people found the following review helpful:
5.0 out of 5 stars "If you've only seen the first part, you haven't seen the best part!!!", December 19, 2006
That was the tagline for "Superman II" When it premiered in 1980 overseas, then 1981 when it premiered in America. The Richard Lester cut of this film was the one seen in theaters at the time, and was a great movie for its time, but it was not the true vision Director Richard Donner had brought to the screen. Donner was fired off production of this movie after a disagreement with the producers. He had already shot 80% of this movie during the same time the original "Superman" was being shot, so his vision went unseen for years. Marlon Brando had also shot some unused footage for this film, but was not featured in the Lester cut because of budget constraints. Now, more than 25 years later, Donner's cut has arrived, and it is spectacular, and not jokey and gag-filled like the original cut is. It is crisp, clean and wonderfully restored to DVD. The movie itself is quite entertaining, and having both cuts of this helps me to study better the true differences between the two. I will not give away too many details of the differences (those can be seen elsewhere in other reviews and also all over the 'Net), but I did enjoy this much better than the original cut. As far as I'm concerned, the only "Superman" movies you need in your collection are "Superman: The Movie," "Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut" and "Superman Returns." Thank you, Warner Brothers, for allowing this film to see the light of day.

Some Off-Topic Reviews: TNA: The 50 Greatest Moments

5.0 out of 5 stars TNA! TNA! TNA! , November 18, 2007
This DVD is chock-full of great moments in TNA history, with some of the biggest stars in the fledgling wrestling organization. Stars such as "The Icon" Sting, "The King Of The Mountain" Jeff Jarrett, Team Triple XXX ("Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels, "Prime Time" Elix Skipper and Senshi), America's Most Wanted, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy, "The Monster" Abyss, "The Instant Classic" Christian Cage, The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall), "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Diamond Dallas Page, Raven, "The War Machine" Rhino and many others. Celebrities such as Country Superstar Toby Keith, actor/comedian Chris Rock and Baseball's A.J. Pierzynski and Football's Brian Urlacher also make appearances in the Impact! Zone. Some of the best highlights are of the "Ultimate X" matches and the "X" Division stars, where the stars do some insane and amazing moves. The one who gets the majority of the highlights is "The Phenomenal" A.J. Styles, who has won every title conceivable in TNA short of the women's title. He is featured in matches with Jarrett, Rhino, Daniels, Joe, Hardy and Abyss, everything from Six Sides of Steel to Ultimate X to title matches. This is a truly amazing DVD Package, with great highlights, and well-worth purchasing. I really enjoyed it.

Review: Sasquatch Experience 11-18-07

This was a wonderful show, with guests Joedy Cook and Bob Coyne, in sort of a roundtable discussion where we talked about Dr. Jeff Meldrum's recent appearance on Coast To Coast A.M., his peer review paper and his research into Sasquatch, as well as a bit about the Patterson/Gimlin Movie and also how modern costumes really do not compare to it, as well as the return of Artist First's Bigfoot Central, Joedy's continuing research into the Ohio Bigfoot as well as a recent report he had heard of a few weeks ago. Bob chimed in with his thoughts on the Sasquatch field as well. It was a great roundtable discussion, and I had fun. Bob will return next week as our guest at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at the link to the right. As always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.
Those mystery animal reports from Baker County in northern Florida have wavered back and forth from one type of animal to another. "Orange ape" became "juvenile Bigfoot," which became "Skunk Ape," which metamorphosed into "orangutan," which then took a sudden 180° turn to become "fox squirrel." Did Charles Fort describe what's behind these reports from Macclenny and Glen St. Mary, Florida? Also, Bear Trap Set for Mysterious Ape.

Review: Coast to Coast A.M. 11-18-07

This was a great show, with Dr. Jeff Meldrum discussing such subjects as the recent Monsterquest episode, his footprint studies, his intention to have an online review journal, the old chestnut of the Patterson/Gimlin Movie, vocalizations and other subjects. Several callers were heard, giving their accounts of sightings and strange encounters, including our own Bill Green, who asked his usual questions (but hey, they get answered!!!). He was actually the last caller to get on the show before the end. The guest-host Ian Punnett really tried to ask the right questions, but he just wasn't as adept as George Noory or Art Bell. Still he was adequate. All in all, a great show.

Posting I made on Bigfoot Forums

    QUOTE(StacyInMI @ Nov 16 2007, 08:31 AM)
Yup.... and any credibility you once had would be damned to hell.

I find this statement to be a bit on the disturbing side. And it does not JUST apply to Biscardi, it applies to all researchers-what business is it of anyone's if someone goes on expedition with controversial individuals such as Biscardi to begin with? And what exactly is "credibility" in this field? Most of the world who knows very little about Bigfoot other than what they see on TV thinks we're all missing a few marbles because we chase big hairy monsters out in the woods. We would not exactly be considered "credible" to most of the world, so who is to say within this community who is more credible than the other? John Green used to publish hoax Sasquatch stories in his newspaper back before he really looked into it, yet he is considered the Godfather of Sasquatchery; Jeff Meldrum bought into the Snow Walker and Playmate Videos when he first got into this line of inquiry until he realized that they were hoaxes; Green still considers Peter Byrne a fraud simply because Byrne was picked to lead Tom Slick's Pacific Northwest Expedition in the late-'50's-early-'60's, yet Byrne is highly regarded by a good majority of you. And I have news for you all-ALL of us have had a slip of the tongue, or believed a certain piece of evidence was credible till we checked into it more closely and found we were wrong, or have had romantic notions on certain things until we became more objective. What makes Biscardi any different? Many researchers have gone on expedition with him, including some members of these very forums, and they have had nice things to say about him and the team he works with. Would you shun those individuals that are on this board who have gone on expedition with him and say their credibility has been damned to Hell if I were to name those individuals concerned? I notice no one has shunned Billy Willard or Steve Kulls, who BOTH post on these very forums and HAVE gone on expedition with Biscardi and have not found ANY HOAXING OR WRONGDOING!!! So are these individuals all of a sudden NOT credible just because they dared to go on expedition with a man many of you consider to be the Devil Incarnate and came back with positive feedback? You can't have it both ways, folks. If you are going to shun Biscardi and perhaps now Steve and Billy for supporting or being nice to Biscardi, then maybe all of you should be shunned for supporting Green or Meldrum or Byrne simply because of the opinions of a few and because they have slipped up and shown a human side too. I am going to take Biscardi up on his offer (actually, it was Steve Kulls' offer) to go on an expedition in Enterprise, Alabama, in February to check things out for myself. If there is wrongdoing, I will not hesitate to report it; if there is a positive report, I will give that as well. As I said on the other thread, I will hide nothing or turn nothing. I will call it as I see it, good or bad. If that bothers some of you, well, I apologize. I believe in checking things out for myself before I make a verdict. Besides, I am in this to research Bigfoot, NOT personalities.

Review: Beyond The Edge Radio 11-16-07

This was a wonderful show, probably the best yet, with UFOlogist Stanton Friedman, who discussed quite a few subjects, including Roswell (which he was the first civilian investigator of), the UFO situation at Kecksburg, Pennsylvania, his books, his investigations into famous UFO cases such as the Barney and Betty Hill abduction story, his recent appearances on Larry King Live and Coast To Coast A.M. and other topics. Brian Seech called in and asked some excellent questions to Stanton and won an autographed copy of Stanton's book on Barney and Betty Hill. Bill Green and myself won a Lloyd Auerbach book and a CD from Shane Spiel. It was the best show that has been produced from Beyond The Edge Radio since its debut, and what a wonderful show. Of course, Scott Hackenslash came along at the start with his Horror Movie Reviews, tonight with a review of the new horror flick Thirty Days of Night and a promised review of Beowulf next week. Next week in the post-Thanksgiving Black Friday show, Sean and Eric's guests will be Paranormal Investigators Brian and Terrie Seech, next Friday at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at the link to the right.
