Posting I made on Bigfoot Forums

QUOTE(StacyInMI @ Nov 16 2007, 08:31 AM)
Yup.... and any credibility you once had would be damned to hell.

I find this statement to be a bit on the disturbing side. And it does not JUST apply to Biscardi, it applies to all researchers-what business is it of anyone's if someone goes on expedition with controversial individuals such as Biscardi to begin with? And what exactly is "credibility" in this field? Most of the world who knows very little about Bigfoot other than what they see on TV thinks we're all missing a few marbles because we chase big hairy monsters out in the woods. We would not exactly be considered "credible" to most of the world, so who is to say within this community who is more credible than the other? John Green used to publish hoax Sasquatch stories in his newspaper back before he really looked into it, yet he is considered the Godfather of Sasquatchery; Jeff Meldrum bought into the Snow Walker and Playmate Videos when he first got into this line of inquiry until he realized that they were hoaxes; Green still considers Peter Byrne a fraud simply because Byrne was picked to lead Tom Slick's Pacific Northwest Expedition in the late-'50's-early-'60's, yet Byrne is highly regarded by a good majority of you. And I have news for you all-ALL of us have had a slip of the tongue, or believed a certain piece of evidence was credible till we checked into it more closely and found we were wrong, or have had romantic notions on certain things until we became more objective. What makes Biscardi any different? Many researchers have gone on expedition with him, including some members of these very forums, and they have had nice things to say about him and the team he works with. Would you shun those individuals that are on this board who have gone on expedition with him and say their credibility has been damned to Hell if I were to name those individuals concerned? I notice no one has shunned Billy Willard or Steve Kulls, who BOTH post on these very forums and HAVE gone on expedition with Biscardi and have not found ANY HOAXING OR WRONGDOING!!! So are these individuals all of a sudden NOT credible just because they dared to go on expedition with a man many of you consider to be the Devil Incarnate and came back with positive feedback? You can't have it both ways, folks. If you are going to shun Biscardi and perhaps now Steve and Billy for supporting or being nice to Biscardi, then maybe all of you should be shunned for supporting Green or Meldrum or Byrne simply because of the opinions of a few and because they have slipped up and shown a human side too. I am going to take Biscardi up on his offer (actually, it was Steve Kulls' offer) to go on an expedition in Enterprise, Alabama, in February to check things out for myself. If there is wrongdoing, I will not hesitate to report it; if there is a positive report, I will give that as well. As I said on the other thread, I will hide nothing or turn nothing. I will call it as I see it, good or bad. If that bothers some of you, well, I apologize. I believe in checking things out for myself before I make a verdict. Besides, I am in this to research Bigfoot, NOT personalities.

Review: Beyond The Edge Radio 11-16-07

This was a wonderful show, probably the best yet, with UFOlogist Stanton Friedman, who discussed quite a few subjects, including Roswell (which he was the first civilian investigator of), the UFO situation at Kecksburg, Pennsylvania, his books, his investigations into famous UFO cases such as the Barney and Betty Hill abduction story, his recent appearances on Larry King Live and Coast To Coast A.M. and other topics. Brian Seech called in and asked some excellent questions to Stanton and won an autographed copy of Stanton's book on Barney and Betty Hill. Bill Green and myself won a Lloyd Auerbach book and a CD from Shane Spiel. It was the best show that has been produced from Beyond The Edge Radio since its debut, and what a wonderful show. Of course, Scott Hackenslash came along at the start with his Horror Movie Reviews, tonight with a review of the new horror flick Thirty Days of Night and a promised review of Beowulf next week. Next week in the post-Thanksgiving Black Friday show, Sean and Eric's guests will be Paranormal Investigators Brian and Terrie Seech, next Friday at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central at the link to the right. As always, we encourage you to please tune in and support great research.

Editorial: Bigfoot Radio comes full-circle

In around 1999 or 2000, the website Artist First based out of Alliance, Ohio started a program called Bigfoot Central, which had the best guests in the Bigfoot field. Field researchers, authors, newsletter organizers, armchair researchers and even the old-timers of the field graced the microphones of the fledgling show. Various hosts passed through the portals of the show-Robert W. Morgan, Loren Coleman, D.L. Tanner and most recently M.K. Davis and Don Monroe. Unfortunately, it all ended in March of 2006 under mysterious circumstances which are still not quite understood to this day, and that began a Bigfoot show revolution on the Internet, more particularly at Blog Talk Radio, where there are no less than 6 shows devoted to the subject which air almost every night of the week, and one on Talkshoe. Well, it has now all come full-circle, with the return of Bigfoot Central this last Tuesday night with hosts M.K. Davis and Don Monroe, who promise that when the show begins in earnest in January 2008, they will once again continue the tradition of excellence in Bigfoot broadcasting with great guests and great topics, and I for one want to thank one man for his initiative to bring the show back, and that is my best friend in the Bigfoot field Mr. Sean Forker. It was his e-mail campaign that inspired the return of the show to the airwaves, and what a great thing he did for the Bigfoot Community. The show promises to be one of the best out there, and I believe it will be. Special mention should most definitely go to the producers at the station, Tony Kay and Scott "Z-Man" Zelesko who heard the cries of the public and responded in kind. With the return of this show, it means there will be a Bigfoot show airing almost every night of the week, so welcome back, Bigfoot Central, and EXCELSIOR!!!!!!

Article by Daniel Perez

SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN, DECEMBER 2007

FINALLY, SOME RESPECT FROM A WELL KNOWN PUBLICATION. A THANK YOU TO DR. JEFF MELDRUM FOR PASSING ALONG THIS INFORMATION. READ ON...

Insights: Bigfoot Anatomy; December 2007; Scientific American Magazine; by Marguerite Holloway; 2 Page(s)
One overcast Sunday morning in 1996, Jeffrey Meldrum and his brother drove to Walla Walla, Wash., to see if they could find Paul Freeman, a man renowned in Bigfoot circles as a source of footprint casts. Meldrum--who has followed Bigfoot lore since he was a boy--had heard that Freeman was a hoaxer, "so I was very dubious," he recalls. The brothers arrived unannounced, Meldrum says, and chatted with Freeman about his collection. Freeman said he had found tracks just that morning, but they were not good, not worth casting. The brothers wanted to see them regardless. "I thought we could use this to study the anatomy of a hoax," Meldrum says. Instead Meldrum's visit to a ridge in the Blue Mountains set him firmly on a quest he has been on since.
Meldrum, an associate professor of anatomy and anthropology at Idaho State University, is an expert on foot morphology and locomotion in monkeys, apes and hominids. He has studied the evolution of bipedalism and edited From Biped to Strider (Springer, 2004), a well-respected textbook. He brought his anatomical expertise to the site outside Walla Walla. The 14-inch-long prints Freeman showed him were interesting, Meldrum says, because some turned out at a 45-degree angle, suggesting that whatever made them had looked back over its shoulder. Some showed skin whorls, some were flat with distinct anatomical detail, others were of running feet-imprints of the front part of the foot only, of toes gripping the mud. Meldrum made casts and decided it would be hard to hoax the running footprints, "unless you had some device, some cable-loaded flexible toes."

Doughnut trap is set for `Baby Bigfoot'

(AP) -- State wildlife officials are hoping doughnuts will lure an orangutan into the open in this town near Jacksonville.

Residents have reported seeing a ''big orange ball of fur,'' said Karen Parker, a spokeswoman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Wildlife officers can't confirm the furball is actually a large primate, though a Baker County animal control officer claimed she saw an orange-colored ape ''much larger than a spider monkey'' sitting in a tree. Some residents speculate it may only be a squirrel. Others think it may be a ``baby Bigfoot.''

Review: Monsterquest 11-14-07

This episode took us to the Sea of Cortez in Mexico in search of the Giant Squid. Apparently the native Pangueros have had a fear of what they call the El Domonio Rojo, the Red Devil, also known as the Humboldt Squid, which can get as big as a school bus. It is thought to be a man-killer. Richard Ellis is interviewed on the show, as well as researchers Scott Cassell and Roger Hanlon of the Marine Biological Laboratory. Cassell shares an experience in which a 5-foot long Humboldt Squid pulled his shoulder out of its socket, and he also ruptured his right eardrum. Doug Hajicek hopes to put a camera down in the depths of the sea to film one of the giant squid. The giant squid may be the inspiration for the legendary Kraken as well. Ellis dismisses quite a few of the attack stories as far as the Kraken taking sailors off the decks of ships or pulling people off shore. Jeff Zernov of Nature Vision, Incorporated is rather skeptical of the cameras working to get a giant squid on film. Dale Pearson is interviewed as well as the lead diver of the team. All in all, a wonderful episode of this new series. Next week, the subject is giant birds, Known as Birdzilla. The show begins at 10:00 EST/9:00 Central on the History Channel, so check your local listings for time and channel.
