Editorial: Is there Exploitation going on in this field?

The good majority of researchers of Sasquatch (and not just Sasquatch, but also other mysteries) seem to be very adept at their craft and seem to be quite honest, sincere and dedicated to their area of study. These are hardworking individuals who do not seek monetary gain or publicity, but very quietly ply their craft. However, there are those who are in it for the money and fame, and seem to exploit the field of Sasquatch or Cryptozoology. Recently, a bridge collapse in Minneapolis brought up bad memories of another famous bridge collapse from December 1967 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, which was connected to the Mothman and written about by John Keel in his book based on the weird events around that city. A certain well-known author wrote several articles on his blog paralelling the two events, and seemed to mean well but came off more exploitative then anything else, even if he did not mean to do so. There are individuals within the Cryptozoology and Sasquatch fields who seem to only want to get fame and fortune out of it and exploit it completely and not make worthwhile contributions to the fields. Some do exploit sometimes without meaning to, of course, but there are some who are just in it for the money and fame, and we should beware those people. However, the good majority of researchers are honest and credible, and we should support those fine folks.

Review: The XZone 8-6-07

This proved to be a most interesting program, with Rob interviewing the one and only Bob Heironimus, the man who claimed to be in the suit in the P/G Movie. Heironimus basically made a lot of mistakes and was called on them by callers like myself, Bill Green, Charlie, an anthropologist from Florida and Sean Forker. Heironimus did have quite a few holes in his story, which were right there on the air and not challenged by the skeptically-minded McConnell. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Well, anyway, I and Bill and Charlie and Sean did get to ask our questions and basically got our answers. It was a most interesting and enlightening program, and one that will be talked about for quite some time.

Review: Squatch Detective Radio 8-6-07

This was a great and informative show, with Virginia researcher Bill Dranginis, who discussed the technical side of Bigfooting, as well as his sighting in 1995. I was on the phone most of the show, and I got to ask Bill about his Squatchmobile and the origins of it, as well as questions about his technique of finding strange hairs in birds' nests and having them analyzed. He took calls from Larry Lund and Scott Marlowe and answered questions they asked brilliantly. It was a great show, full of great information. We brought back the Sasquatch Experience Lite, with a discussion on the shows that aired last night on Squatch Detective Radio with Bill Dranginis and also the XZone which featured Bob Heironimus. The good majority of the program was devoted to the Patterson/Gimlin Movie and the discrepancies surrounding Heironimus' story, and mine and Sean's theories surrounding all that. It was just basically an off-the-cuff show, and we enjoyed it.

Review: The Sasquatch Experience 8-5-07

This was a fun and wonderful show, with California Investigators John and Montra Freitas who discussed their investigations, as well as their recent Operation Odyssey II Event. John also discussed his ability as the "Human Lie Detector," the fallibility of Polygraphs and also an interesting and little-known tidbit of information-Bob Gimlin took a polygraph years ago and passed it. I asked him about how Polygraphs would apply to someone like Bob Heironimus, and he answered the questions terrifically. I also asked about the Sonoma Video and investigation he did into that. He also discussed such things as the military's covering up the incident, his opinions on what Sasquatch is and different things like that.
